Perfect for Installs or Rebuilds. When installing new gears in your Pony it only makes sense to replace the old worn seals and bearings while the housing is apart, especially if it has over 60,000 miles on the odometer. A Ford Racing Ring and Pinion Installation Kit is extra insurance against the need for another costly tear down and rebuild.

Complete Kit. This Ford Racing kit comes complete with all the components needed to swap out your ring and pinion gear. It includes gaskets, seals, shims, bearings and all the required hardware.

Application. This Ford Racing Ring and Pinion Installation Kit is designed for use with 7.5in rear axle equipped Mustangs, including the 1979-1985 GT and the 1986-2010 V6 models. It will not fit the 8.8in equipped Mustangs.

      The Motive 7.5 kit has listed separately 'differential bearings'; does this Ford Performance kit have that as well? In essence, do both the Motive and the Ford kit both have ALL parts necessary for a rebuild/swap?

          great purchase solid built!

          im very pleased with my purchase they are solid built and already have a thoushand miles on em in 2 days :D quick shipping and good packaging. only thing is a read a questions answer from the people at AM and they said it would come with a diff cover gasket. it did not. oh well they are cheap. other then that would be great if the packaging said exactly what part was what. I had to match them up as I taking them out.

          Differential rebuild

          I ordered these parts in order to have the rear differential rebuilt. When my mechanic took the differential to the specialty shop, they had some trouble getting the parts installed within the acceptable tolerances. Once they were able to do so and my car was completed, the drive train feels brand new again! I'm waiting for the break-in period to expire so that I can get into the gas pedal once again. :)

          Must-have for anyone installing new gears or differential

          Kit includes everything you need and is a must have if you plan on doing some work on the differentials or gears, especially if your stang is a little older. The parts are very high quality and fit very nicely. I have had them installed for about 4 months now, or 10000km, and no problems so far. It's also nice insurance and peace-of-mind knowing my differential is well protected with new quality parts. Only con: kit does not include a seal for the differential cover. But this is no problem, as making a seal is very easy.

          bearing kit made job so much easier

          I got these installed with the 4.10 gears and auburn LSD. I live in Bend, OR, so there are not a lot of shops to go to and trust. Thought about going to FORD but wanted 860.00. I think they smoke crack there. So I went to the Dodge dealer yes I said the Dodge dealer. They charge 600 out the door which was better still pricy but better. Best part was I met the tech who also drove a V6 mustang but works for dodge, go figure. Anyways he is their rear end expert and had it done in 6 hours. Wrote on write up that the gears/ LSD and bearing fit right in but had to stack the shims do to them not being as big as the stock ones and wrote chatter on tight turns. Well I picked up car and "OH MY GOD BECKY" car is amazing from 3.31 stock gears. No whine, vibration, or chattering. And I have gone fast and hard around corners. Well worth the money. make sure you find a good tech to get them in right. Also the site don't tell you but if you get the auburn LSD DO NOT USE SYTH OIL, only use DINO OIL as per auburn. My car is too much fun to drive now and yes highway RPM are high but I don't care, the acceleration is amazing and worth the lost highway mileage, there is a cure. drive the speed limit and not 70 or 80 and you will be fine.

          Nothing but the best from Ford Racing!

          Installed these gears along with the ford racing install kit. I also had installed the auburn LSD. These gears really make a difference as far as acceleration from a stop light. Haven't had any problems as far as gear whine.

          Ford Racing 3.73 Gear and FR Install Kit

          Well, first, the product came quickly from AM as usual. I had a shop install everythng. It went well but cost more than I thought that it would. I can definitely feel a difference in acceleration. As expected I have lost some highway. Revving around 2,500 at 70 mph. No big deal. Now the downside. I have some buyer's remorse. The pull is no where near what I though it would be. I guess I bought into the hype. If a harder pull is what you want, then get the 4.10 gear. If you are concerned about losing highway with 4.10's, then get a GT.

          great product

          makes install of new ring and pinion faster and easier I only had one problem with mine it was missing a race for one of the bearings but other than that wonderful
