Review & Installation Video

Review & Install Video

Hey, I'm Alex from Today I'm bringing you my detailed review and breakdown of Barricade's Hidden Snap Tonneau Cover, fitting the 2004 through 2014 F-150, with a six and a half foot bed. So this detailed review's gonna cover everything from the construction and materials used with this cover, what this is gonna do to the backend of your truck in terms of the look, the functionality. We're gonna hit the pricing real quick and then I'm gonna walk you through the installation, which I'm gonna be giving a very easy 1 out of 3 wrenches on the difficulty meter, in about a 20-minute job and I'm gonna show you exactly how, coming up later. So the Barricade Hidden Snap Tonneau Cover that I have here today should definitely appeal to the '04 through '14 F-150 owners looking to get into hands-down, one of the most affordable and inexpensive tonneau covers at the time of shooting this video, but one that's gonna offer a very unique setup, as this is gonna have a hidden snap design, which isn't gonna be a trifold or a hinge setup. Now, if you're watching this video, chances are you're probably shopping for a tonneau cover. If you're not quite sure what this is gonna do for your truck or what some of the benefits are, I'm gonna tell you right now. First and foremost this is gonna be to cover your bed and make sure that whatever you're hauling, be it camping gear, tools, any kinda personal items, are gonna be protected from the weather, be it rain, sleet, or snow, as well as prying eyes. So aside from the functionality of a tonneau cover which again, I honestly think just completes the rear-end of the bed, it looks a lot much more streamlined as well as protecting your gear and anything you're gonna be hauling. Something I really like about this in comparison to other covers out there, is gonna be the fact that this is gonna be a roll-up design and one that's gonna have hidden snaps underneath, or on the bed rails, which you're not gonna see. Now, something that's really cool about this tonneau cover like most, if not all out there, but something that's really easy to operate is the fact that, if you're running on the road and you're really needing to get in the back of your truck quick, on the side of the highway, for example, it's literally as easy as getting out of your truck and then just pulling up onto the snaps to retrieve whatever your after. But looks and functionality aside, it's been widely argued that tonneau covers have a tendency to reduce your drag coefficient, which in turn means that you're gonna be spending less at the fuel pump. Now let's face facts here, if you bought an F-150, it probably wasn't for the stellar gas mileage and it's just something to keep in the back of your head when shopping for any tonneau cover, as most, if not all brands out there will say that it's gonna help you save a couple bucks at the pump. All right, so at this point we went over the looks, we went over the functionality, and we even covered a controversial point about this helping it save gas with your truck, which again, I'll argue that every other day. But what I'm really more interested in, here again, is gonna be the design and the orientation and having a similar setup on my own truck. I can attest to the fact of just how convenient and usable it is, say if I'm down at the hardware store and if I really quickly need to fold this back, or roll it back up, I can throw a two by four in there, or anything else that I'm gonna need to situate the cover to accommodate that wider load. Now, looking closer, Barricade's gonna be utilizing a heavy duty vinyl-like material. It almost kinda feels like a tarp in my hands here, but that much cleaner and better feeling, but at the end of the day, this is going to be something to protect your gear, tools, or anything else that you're gonna be hauling, from any type of elements be it, rain, sleet, or snow, or hell, just leaving your truck out and letting it bake in the sun. It's not

Protect Your Cargo. Many F-150 owners want the functionality of a snap cover but they don't like the look of the snaps on their truck bed, which is why TruShield created the Hidden Snap Tonneau Cover. Featuring a unique hidden snap design, the tonneau cover easily snaps securely on and off the truck bed while giving it a clean sleek look. The cover spans the whole 6.5' bed making sure everything in your truck stays protected.

Quality Construction. This Hidden Snap Tonneau Cover is made from a heavy duty vinyl tarp that will shield your cargo from rain, snow, and mud. This vinyl is weather resistant and can withstand the test of time without fading in the sun, making sure your F-150 always looks good. The cover also comes with all mounting hardware, including (6) aluminum clips and (3) crossbows that make for an easy installation process and keep your cover fastened.

Application. The TruShield Off-Road Hidden Snap Tonneau Cover was designed to fit all 2004-2014 Styleside F-150s equipped with a 6.5 ft. bed. Will not fit Flareside bed equipped models.

I would not recommend this product to anyone. The snaps that keep the cover attached to the rails are made out of really thin cheap plastic. Just putting the cover on for the first time 4 of them snapped off. These are supposed to be durable enough for you to take the cover off and back on many times throughout the covers lifespan. I got the cover on with breaking 4 of them, at this point I am afraid for whenever I will have to take the cover off. Out of any part for cover this the snaps should be the most durable as they should be able to be snapped in and out without worrying about them breaking. After the first one broke I was being as careful as possible snapping the rest in and still broke 3 more. Overall, cheap snaps, I would not buy this again. If they fixed that issue it would would be a good product, but with the main part being so cheaply made its pretty worthless. I feel like I wasted my money because this wont last long at all.

Everything was as it's supposed to be as per the product however it's very flimsy and cheap comes with three supports for the cover it should have at least five when driving it gets pushed down into three divots I can see over time it is going to tear and need to be replaced save some more money and just buy the better one from the beginning
