So if you own a 2008 F-150 and you wanna make your truck feel noticeably faster but you don't actually want to turn any wrenches and you don't wanna actually install any power-adding modifications, then the JMS PedalMAX throttle enhancement device should be at the top of your list. The way this device works is pretty cool. So I have to give you a little explanation about how your truck actually works when you press the gas. What happens is when you press the gas pedal, you're actually sending an electrical signal to the ECU. The ECU determines your pedal position and it makes a couple of computations before it opens the throttle body and adds air and fuel to the engine. There is a natural delay in this process. What the JMS does is it boosts that signal and it removes that delay entirely. Sounds pretty simple but honestly, it really does make a big difference. You'll definitely hear about it if you read the customer reviews. Installing this is also very straightforward and it doesn't actually interfere with any existing modifications and if you wanted to tune your truck in addition with the JMS, you actually could do so as well. If I had to give this an install rating, I'm going to give it a very soft one out of three wrenches on my difficulty meter. You don't actually need any tools to install this device and it shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes so I'll go ahead and show you guys how to hook this up real quick. So getting the JMS installed is pretty straightforward. The first thing you have to do is actually connect the device to the 20 pin connection and they do provide you with a tiny little flat head screwdriver to get these cute little screws tightened down. Once you've done that, it's really simple, all you gotta do is crawl beneath your dash here underneath the steering column, disconnect that little plug that you can find above the gas pedal. Once you've done that, you can go ahead and plug the black end of this connector here into that same location and then you're gonna connect to this grey connection into the wiring harness that you just unplugged. If you do want to use the desensitizing plug in the kit to drop this down from 100% to 60%, you can go ahead and plug that into this little connection before you do all of this. All right. So once you've got the PedalMAX plugged in, that's basically it. It'll be at 100% sensitivity by default. Again, if you feel that that's too much, and it may very well be if you've read some of the reviews, then you can plug in that little four-pin desensitizing connection even still. It's also a good time to use the zip ties in order to secure the PedalMAX underneath the dash, that way it's not flying around and you're not smacking it with your foot. If you want to be creative like us, we actually used double-sided tape. One other thing to point out, at this time, you can also plug in the little control knob which will allow you to dial in the sensitivity from 0 to 100. It's the same process, plug in that four-pin connection. You can actually secure it anywhere on the dash and again, go ahead and secure the extra cable with the zip ties in the kit. That wraps up this install. As you can see, pretty straightforward and you get to enjoy a throttle that honestly feels the way it should have from the factory. I'm Travis, thanks for watching and for all things F-150, keep it right here at americantrucks.com.
