That's what this K&N Series 57 FIPK cold air intake is all about. It creates a wide open and straight path for air to go to the engine of your truck. No Tuning. Tuning is cool and it's a good way to make your truck more effective. It's not necessary though. You're free to tune your truck, but you do not have to in order to use this intake kit. That's very convenient and it's one of the reasons this K&N product is so popular.

A Solid Filter. Good filtration is hard to find in a modern intake system, but this K&N Series 57 FIPK cold air intake delivers all the way. On the outside of the filter you have a protective mesh screen made from epoxy coated aluminum. This is the barrier to the filter and it grabs those large particles that you don't want gumming it all up. Once you make it through that barrier you get to the good stuff. Layer upon layer of premium cotton gauze fabric. This stuff is very fine and it's good at grabbing all the little particles. Not only is the cotton there, but it's been oiled to make it gummy and much finer. Thanks to the oil the cotton can grab tiny particles and it's much more difficult for things to pass through it. As long as you have the oil, you can wash up this filter after it gets clogged and you can apply the oil and you can use it like new once again.

Corrosion Resistant. Cold air intakes are subject to lots of moisture, which is why this kit is designed the way it is. This K&N product is made mostly from tough polyethylene plastic. The black plastic makes up the intake pipe, the heat shield and some other body panels. These sections are all corrosion resistant and they're designed to withstand heat, grease and most other chemicals just fine. Other than the plastic, there are parts forged from stainless steel that will do beautifully with weathering, and then there are the aluminum parts that are naturally corrosion resistant.

A One Hour Install. The best parts are the ones that go on quickly and do their job right away. This K&N Series 57 FIPK cold air intake is one of those parts. You bolt it into position and you'll start seeing the benefits the next time you drive. There aren't special installation steps to get through, which is very nice.

Protected for Life. K&N offers a lifetime limited warranty on this part, which should give you some peace of mind when you use it.

50 State Approval. If you plan on using this intake in any of the 50 states you have a lot to celebrate. It's CARB approved with certification number D-269-48. and is legal for you to use just about anywhere you would like.

Technical Note. The K&N Cold Air Intake is not designed for vehicles equipped with a Body Lift.
