Improve Horsepower And Torque. The Kooks Long Tube Header and Catted Shorty X-pipe combo kit for the Shelby GT500 Mustang will balance out the exhaust pressure to increase flow over the restrictive factory exhaust system resulting in more horsepower, torque, and better throttle response.

Quality Construction. Manufactured from 1-3/4" mandrel bent 304 stainless steel tubing Kooks Long Tube Headers are TIG welded for strength, and feature a leak-free ball flange design to fit perfectly into the included 3" diameter 304 stainless steel Shorty X-pipe for excellent exhaust flow and performance.

Natural Finish. These Kooks Headers feature a natural stainless steel finish, which provides an aggressive appearance to your engine bay. This is not a heat-resistant coating, AmericanMuscle recommends the use of Exhaust Heat Wrap for high performance applications.

Recommended Upgrade. To realize the full power potential that this Kooks Long Tube Header and X-pipe Kit has to offer, AmericanMuscle recommends a custom tune with either a SCT SF3 or SCT iTSX Wireless Custom Tuner.

Application. This Kooks Long Tube Header and matching catted shorty X-pipe combo kit is designed specifically for the 2011 to 2014 Shelby GT500 Mustangs.

engine code So with this set up I won't have a problem with my check engine light?

        • The Kooks Header and Catted X-Pipe Combo item #65524/MPN#11422200 will throw a check engine light if the PCM is not re-calibrated after installation. The PCM can be re-calibrated via a dyno tune very easily; this is necessary because the front O2 sensors are being moved further down stream in correlation with their prior positioning in the exhaust flow. Therefore, the PCM will think the air/fuel ratio is lean and will dump more fuel to compensate. However, (since there is no actual lean condition) this will result in the car running extremely rich. Also, because you are switching to "high flow" cats, the higher flowing exhaust will trigger the rear O2 sensors. The additional exhaust flow achieved with long tubes makes the rear O2 sensors think the cats are not functioning correctly and will result in the PCM throwing a catalytic efficiency DTC code.

Would this fit on a regular 2013 gtcs or only the 500?

        • The Kooks 1-3/4 in. Long Tube Headers are only designed to fit the 11-14 GT500s.
