    More Horsepower And Torque. Bolt on extra horsepower and torque that you can feel throughout the entire RPM band with a set of MAC Performance Long Tube Headers. These MAC Chrome Long Tube Headers when combined with a matching shorty Mid Pipe will improve your Mustangs exhaust flow increasing your pony's horsepower and torque.

    Ceramic Coating. These Long Tube Headers are completed in MAC's Polished Ceramic Coating that not only looks great, but reduce under hood temperatures to help increase horsepower and extend the life of the headers. Ceramic Coated headers will long out last both chrome plated and polished headers.

    High Quality Construction. Constructed from 1-5/8" mandrel bent 16 Gauge Steel tubing so there are no kinks to rob you of power, these MAC Performance Long Tube Headers feature 2-1/2" True Fit Collectors that eliminate the need for gaskets which are prone to leak and blow out. These headers are then completed in a polished ceramic finish for good looks and a durable long life.

    Application. This pair of MAC Performance Long Tube Headers are specifically designed to fit 1999-2000 Mustangs that are equipped with the 3.8L V6 engine. MAC Performance recommends using a MAC shorty Mid Pipe for the best performance gains. (see drop down option above).Technical Note.     Do I need an H pipe when replacing the manifold with these headers?

    • Either H or X-pipe will work for these headers as long as it is a shorty mid-pipe! Also with doing long tubes you will want to match the same brand mid-pipe to headers for proper fitment.

    How Much? How Much HP & TQ will this add I already have true dual flowmaster, but stock headers at the moment.

    • Will add about 25hp and 15tq with a included mid pipe. Make sure you purchase a 'shorty' mid pipe for the longtube headers.

    Your site says these will work with all 3.8 Mustangs...manufacturer's site says the Mac LTs do not work with any year convertible... Which is correct? 2004 3.8 convertible, auto... Thanks

    • The MAC 1-5/8 in. Ceramic Long Tube Headers will have fitment issues on convertible models.

    • The MAC 1-5/8 in. Ceramic Long Tube Headers are not Unequal Length Headers. Unequal Length Headers are only an option for shorty headers.

      Header install

      Do not buy the fit is horrible took several days just to get the passenger side on an then it was still riding on the starter,motor mount stand and the transmission pan. After a week of driving had to take them off and put the stock manifolds back on before they rubbed a hole in the transmission pan. Total waste of money!

      Difficult installation

      Headers took forever. passenger side is insanely difficult to install, however doable. The independent ports make exact figment a pain. I spoke with a specialist on chat before ordering to ensure I had all of the parts for a successful installation but after I received the headers, as pictured, there are “air ports” on the front and Americans Muscle doesn’t include or sells the caps to close it off. Then I found the same headers on the manufacturer site for way it’s been an awesomely frustraihhting experience all together.

      Passenger side was difficult , it took most of the time , the drive side was pretty easy , love them , I would recommend this to any v6 that wants more HP

      Amazing buy for a v6!

      So my mid pipe cracked my stock headers. why not upgrade to long tubes right?! well after getting these put in along with an h pipe and a side exit exhaust, my lil v6 runs with the gt's! so much faster and meaner! A must have and the price isnt hurting your wallet! only one problem with these, i have a 2000, but my engine may be a 2001. i dont have the lines for the 2 holes on these headers. NOT O2 SENSOR HOLES, whatever it is closest to the studs on the block. i plugged those though and it works like its supposed to! (Whats my driving style only gives me one option! This is my daily, my show car and my strip car)

      Mac headers

      The Mac headers are good they made my car move better and sound better. I think the v6 headers sound be a little cheaper but it's still worth it.

      Overall good.

      If you wanna change the sound of your v6 these headers are a must. Also the performance gains are well worth it. Only cons I'd give these bad boys are that the passenger side header was the hardest to install. I think they should hit the designe table one more time and adjust the bends just a little. Only because it was a pain to instal. I actually had to have a buddy pull down on the header piping to bend it to aligne up with the stud wholes on the engine. Over all I give this a 4 1/2 star rating. Just because of the fitment issue. Over all makes your stang so loud and sound like a GT at lower RPM ranges. Higher makes it sound like those v6 stange on YouTube with the off rd exhaust.

      Awesome headers!

      These make your stang sooo loud and give it a lot more room to breath. Negatives are rattles it gives te car(which can be expected in an old American car), and how careful you have to be about bottoming out... Overall is an amazing product! My exhaust set up is these headers, custom h-pipe with cats still on, and dumped super 40s. Sounds really good(and loud) an won't get ricey until around 5000 rpms

      Before I bought this, I had a dual exhaust with flowmaster 40s, and I thought that sounded pretty good. I paired these headers with the off road h-pipe, and boy was I surprised. The difference was gigantic. It sounds like a gt at idle, and stays aggressive throughout the rpms. Last but not least, it made it much louder as well. I get lots of compliments on it and gt mustangs always want to race me because they think it's a gt. I would definitely recommend this part paired with the off road h-pipe if you want a drastic change. It was well worth it even though the total price was around 1,000.
