    Description

More Horsepower And Torque. Replace those restrictive stock manifolds with a set of MAC Long Tube Ceramic Headers to improve exhaust flow and increase your Mustang's horsepower and torque. Increases of up to 18 RWHP have been seen when installed with a matching MAC shorty Mid Pipe (see drop down option above).

Ceramic Coating. These Long Tube Headers are completed in MAC's Polished Ceramic Coating that not only looks great, but reduce under hood temperatures to help increase horsepower and extend the life of the headers. Ceramic Coated headers will long out last both chrome plated and polished headers.

High Quality Construction. Constructed from 1-5/8" mandrel bent 16 Gauge Steel tubing so there are no kinks to rob you of power, these MAC Performance Long Tube Headers feature 2-1/2" True Fit Collectors that eliminate the need for gaskets which are prone to leak and blow out. These headers are then completed in a ceramic coated finish for good looks and a durable long life.

    Recommended Upgrade.
To realize the full power potential that these Long Tube Headers have to offer, AmericanMuscle recommends a custom tune with a Mustang Handheld Tuner to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) for proper operation.

    Application.
These Mac long tube headers are designed to fit the 1999-2004 SVT Cobra and 2003-2004 Mach 1 Mustangs with either a manual or automatic transmission. MAC Performance recommends using a MAC shorty Mid Pipe for the best performance gains.

Technical Note. This MAC Performance product is not legal for use in emission restrictive states.

      Mac Headers

These headers are great for the price. Pros: Fit VERY nicely underneath. I've heard rumors of people being able to drop their tranny with these still attached and I think with a little struggle its possible. A noticeable difference in hp between stock manifold w/ bbk O/R x compared to Mac headers with mac O/R X pipe. Cons: Headers came still un finished. Had to have a friend finish a weld at not one but two of the ports. The EGR Tube is PRETTY far off. I suggest blocking off but I didn't. Other than that design is great quality is ok. Instructions didn't include dropping K member but I did and install did take one whole weekend.

      5 2003 Mach 1 - MatthewH

      What a ride.

While I did not buy these from AM, I wanted to write a review because they're a very popular company that many people use. First off, the installation is definitely a PITA. Even on a lift, its very tedious (not hard mind you, just annoying) and I can't give a true installation time because I redid the suspension on all 4 corners as well. Total was about 14 hours in one day because I ran into other problems as well lol. As far as the product, I couldn't be any happier. They fit great, perform great, and sound MEAN. I have these paired with a high flow catted x, and SLP LM1s. At idle it's quite tame (which I prefer) but as soon as you give it any gas it just screams. For anyone looking at headers, these are the absolute best way to go.

      Mac Headers

So far from what I can see in the box they look shiny but unfortunately they won’t be installed until after Christmas but I need this $10 off my next purchase for Bbk header gaskets because $40 is a lot of money

      5 2003 Cobra - stangbot

      excellent

used these to replace a leaking stock set of headers. I love them and they fit very well. they bolted to the engine fine and allow clearances for the steering shaft. the Mac xpipe that you will also need was a good 1/4 inch off though. Not sure if it was the long tubes or the xpipe, but looked more like the xpipe wasn't welded within spec's. at any rate that is why i couldn't give 5 stars for fit. I'm running a kb sc with 18lb pulley and with these long tubes actually seeing only 14.5 lbs of boost, so these are free flowing and i highly recommend them. i bolted them up at the same time i removed the engine for other mods so i can not give an install time.

      Great headers!

These headers were a perfect fit along with the Ford racing header gaskets, bolted them in with stage 8 bolts. They sound great with mac xpipe and Pype violator exhaust.

    5 Top Rated Questions

Will these fit a Mach 1? I've seen these on multiple websites that say these will fit on Cobras and Mach 1's along with reviews stating the same. My question is if these are different.

    • They should bolt right up. You could double check with the manufacturer to be certain. The only difference I know of in the exhaust system of the two cars is behind the mid pipe.
