V8 Look And Sound. If you're looking to give your V6 Pony the dual exhaust look and aggressive sound of a V8, look no further than the MAC Dual Exhaust Conversion Kit from AmericanMuscle.

Flow Path Mufflers. MAC Flow Path Chambered Mufflers feature a patented multi passage design, following Helmholtz's Theory of Tone, to produce a muffler that effectively flows exiting exhaust gases all while maintaining a desirable tone. With no packing that can burn out, Flow Path Mufflers will sound the same mile after mile, year after year.

No Cutting or Welding Required. Unlike other aftermarket V6 dual exhaust kits that require cutting and welding the stock Mid Pipe, the MAC Performance Dual Exhaust Cat-Back system simply bolts right up to the factory Y-pipe for a no hassle installation. Just bolt it on and go!

High Quality Construction. Mandrel bent from durable 2.5" Aluminized Steel tubing for strength and corrosion resistance, this MAC Performance Dual Cat-Back features two "Flow Path" chambered mufflers with massive 4" diameter polished stainless steel tips for classic muscle car sound and looks.

Application. The Mac Performance Dual Exhaust Cat-Back System is specifically designed to simply bolt-on to existing factory Y-pipe on of any 2005 to 2010 4.0L V6 Mustang for more power and a more aggressive sound. Technical Note. Installation requires minor modification of rear V6 bumper cover for the tips to exit correctly, or the use of a GT Rear Bumper Cover.

Technical Note: When buying a dual cat-back or axle-back exhaust kit for your 2005 and newer V6 Mustang, you will need to select the "2005+ Mustang 304 Stainless Steel Exhaust Hanger Kit" from the drop down option menu above to properly install your new exhaust.

I wanted to do this install myself. Would there be instructions included with this exhaust kit?

    AdamW

    • The MAC Dual Exhaust Conversion Kit will include instructions, but we also have an online set of instructions, linked below: https://lib.americanmuscle.com/files/40044-20123-cust.pdf

Would it be possible to pair this with a X-pipe? If so what would be the best fit with the best sound to help? Or would it be better to leave it with the Y-pipe?

    ADAM

    • The MAC Dual Exhaust Conversion Kit would not work with an X-pipe and will only work with the Y-pipes.

Hello, I'm thinking about buying this exhaust and was just wondering if I'd have to buy 1 set of the SR exhaust hangers or 2 sets. Thanks!

    Michael

    • You will only need to buy one set of the hanger kit. They come in pairs.

What is the difference between this MAC and a true dual setup ? what about a gt catback on a 06 v6?

    Rob1986

    • The MAC Dual Exhaust Conversion Kit (05-10 V6) is simply just to make your 2006 Mustang V6 have dual exhaust. This exhaust system bolts up to your factory Y Pipe. This would not be considered a True Dual Exhaust because it is all connected to one mid pipe. A True Dual setup, such as Pypes True Dual Exhaust (05-10 V6), item # 20018, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/pypes-2005v6-truedual-catback.html) would get rid of your factory Y Pipe and replace it with an X Pipe, which would make your V6 have a True Dual setup. It is not recommended to go with anything that does not state it fits a V6, just for fitment issues. We offer a plethora of options for True Dual Conversions, which you can find at the link below! http://www.americanmuscle.com/v6-dualexhaust-convokits.html

Is there any hp gains? I'm curious to know if anyone has noticed and increase in power?

    Steeler3258

    • I just put the exhaust on my 07' today, sounds amazing and i think it gives you a little more HP, i did notice my throttle response was quicker.

      Lovin' It!!!

After researching and comparing products along with the reviews I decided to go with the Mac dual exhaust, and I gotta say im lovin' it! From the moment I turn the ignition on to when im cruising on the highway you hear that nice deep rumble. Installation was fairly easy took 2.5 hrs. close to 3 hrs. Sound quality is great, looks awesome once installed, definitely recommend this product.

      They look good but...

Hands down for me these are the best looking axle backs for this car but for the life of me I cannot get the driver side to fit right. The pipes just seem to off by 2” coming from the over-axle to the muffler. And the only way for it to fit is to have the muffler cockeyed and it looks really dumb.

      Not perfect fit

When you install it if looks perfect. Then it rattles it's life away under your car. At least it sounds half way decent. Not as loud as the reviews make it sound tho

      MAC dual exhaust conversion

Great product for the money. If you don't want a lot of cutting this is it. Fit right on and hooked up nicely. Exhaust note is great, very mellow at idle. Sounds like a v8 when starting and crusing. I am very pleased that i bought this system. 4 inch exhaust tips look great. I'm a happy camper. Paul

      Wow

This is the best bang for your buck FOR SURE. Does it ever sound great. Nice beefy/bass-y sound on idle, and definitely lets people know you're around if you put the throttle on. Little bit of drone at highway speeds, but no more than I've heard in other nice sounding systems. I used this with the 3DCARBON DUAL EXHAUST REAR VALANCE (05-09 V6) and it had to be adjusted a little bit to fit, but turned out looking great in the end. I was worried about the sound, because sound in videos/clips is so much different in real life, but this system delivers. Easy install too.

      Mac Dual Exhaust Kit

Bought this kit a little sceptical about its performance, as there are very few reviews, and man was i wrong. It installed in under an hour in the shop, and it sounds just like a v8 when idling. Absolutely worth the $$$!!!!

      Not good for convertibles

I do not recommend this product for convertibles. The drone is really bad and you cannot hear anything if you're going normal speed and acceleration. It sound nice and looks nice from the outside though! I'm probably going to put GT mufflers.

      Great exhaust

This exhaust sounds great. It sounds deep, somewhat aggressive, and is not in the least way "ricey sounding". I recommend this exhaust to all 05-10 v6 mustang owners. I even noticed a little more power and acceleration with my car and also quicker throttle response. If your looking for the best bang for your buck, its this exhaust.

Definitely a must need for any V6!

I just recently put this on my 2007 V6 Ford Mustang and going from a Single Flowmaster Exhaust to this. I feel like my mustang was whispering. Just even after firing it up after the shop got done with it everyone in the parking lot and in the shop came out to listen to it and a 2 people wanted to know if I was interested in selling my mustang. Haha! I will definitely say if you want a V8 sound this is the way to go! I also have a video of it if you are interested in how it sounds! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IswGeWU2-7s

      What are you waiting for!!

Haha I'm just more in love with my 05 v6 mustang now, this kit has the perfect rumble I need, not that ricey sound I took it to the car wash the day I installed and had two people give me compliments one of them asked if it was for sell haha,, it's not true dual but I plan on getting an h pipe or Mac prochamper in the near future, I installed it my self with help from father in law and man instructions were right on point, I don't like the look of the v6 bumper as the exhuast stick out a little too much for my liking but a gt or gt/cs rear bumper will take care of that man I'm soo excited haha I wasted half a tank just driving around the city hahahaha must buy and thank you am for free shipping as great part

Rumble at Idle, Loud at Acceleration

The system bolted on directly. It was simple. What wasn't included were the hangers for the left side, so I recommend getting those since you WILL need them. As for the sound, it rumbles like a V8 at idle, but at acceleration you can tell its a six. The drone is not bad at all, when at constant speed there is practically no drone.

      sound great, finish ok

When the mechanic finished installing this on my car he said "wow, that sounds like a v8, if not better". Has an awesome rumble at idle. Only problem is you need an extra hose clamp, there's a drone (get some insulation from a car audio shop for the trunk) and I personally don't like how quite far the tip sets from the bumper but gt bumper will fix that. This isn't a true dual system, however, it feels like I've more power and it deffintley turns some heads.

      Deep Raspy Sound!!!

Overall this kit is is a great add on for anyone with a S197 V6. It has a great throaty sound on startup. It sounds deep and really strong at high RPMs as well. The exhaust shop I took it to had a little trouble with the fitment though they had to cut a little more off of my mid pipe. Be sure to get the hanger kit for the driver's side. I have had them on for about a month now and I love them. If you want a strong deep sound from your V6 go with this MAC kit.

      Great exhust

You need to order the other set of hangers. I also had a GT bumper so I didnt have to cut a hole out. Every thing bolted up well, but it was vary hard to hang the mufflers and the pipes at the same time. You defently need two people for this job. Over all I love it and it looks great!

      Excellent Exhaust

Great Exhaust!!! Sounds great and looks even better. The installwould have only taken an hour or so but you have to tap holes for the drivers side hangers.....this required me to go and purhcase a tap and die kit from AutoZone...other than that the install was quick and simple. The exhaust sounds amazing and has very little drone at cruising speed. I recommend this exhaust for any V6 owner wanting to switch to dual exhaust.

      Great Look and Sound!!

This took me an afternoon because with my '05 having never been garaged during it's 70000 miles I had issues removing the stock exhaust and tapping the existing holes to hang the exhaust hangers for the driver's side to install this. Once I did this and cut the stock exhaust to remove it (which I used a hacksaw for) I had no issues installing this exhaust. Love the polished 4" tips, really great looking mufflers with this. The sound is awesome too, no drone but gives a great aggressive sound. I highly recommend this exhaust!
