Does This H-Pipe Come With The long tube headers like it says in the description or you have to buy it separately ?

    TaiwanB

    • The MAC Off-Road H-Pipe is designed for the 99-04 V6 Mustangs that have long tube headers installed. You will need to purchase the MAC 1-5/8 in. Ceramic Long Tube Headers, item # 40061, (https://www.americanmuscle.com/mac-ceramic-longtube-9900v6.html) separately.

Will this H-pipe work with Pacesetter long tube headers for a 2002 V-6 or do I absolutely have to use the MAC headers?

    SteveC

    • We are only able to guarantee fitment of long tube headers with the mid pipe specifically designed for that long tube header. Mixing and matching may very well lead to ill-fitment.

    Will this fit my 1997?

    LoganC

    • Unfortunately, due to the design differences in the 1997 mustangs VS the new edge style mustangs, this would not be a good fit on a 1997 mustang V6.

    • The MAC Off-Road H-Pipe is designed to be bolted to the MAC Ceramic Long Tube Headers (99-00 V6), item # 40061, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/mac-ceramic-longtube-9900v6.html). It may not be a direct bolt on with the stock headers.

      Absolutely amazing sound

I went with a H-pipe due to the fact that its reported to have a deeper tone than an x-pipe, and on a v6, that is very important. Came well packaged and the shop said it fit great. To stay street legal, I had high flow cats welded into it and it still sounds and works great. Paired this with the long tubes and a SLP loudmouth catback, and I could not be happier! Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

H-pipe makes a world of difference

I've already purchased the catted pipes x-pipe foe stock exhaust manifolds and frankly left me wanting more with the raspy tone and less than perfect installation instructions. However I was in luck when I found the Mac longtubes for close to nothing and hence bought the H-pipe to give my sixxer a great muscle car tone and a bit more performance to boot. If you haven't thought of going to longtubes I would suggest that you do it as soon as possible cause the H-pipe really makes the exhaust wake up.

      Pretty good product!

Good over all prodect. I did however have trouble fitting one of the flanges to the driver side longtube header. The whole for the stud to pass thrue was offset by a quarter inch or so. So I had to drill the whole bigger. After that went on without any trouble.

      Couldn't Be Happier

I got the Mac H-pipe because it was required for the Mac long tube headers. I am very pleased with how well this bolted up once I had the headers on. I did not have to re-adjust the exhaust towards the rear of the car at all. This was literally a perfect fit in my case. This actually hangs higher than my other H-pipe i had before which I am very happy about. Once I got this on with my long tubes, I was VERY satisfied with the way it sounded.Has a very mean growl to it... If you want to remove your cats, this is the way to go! Thanks AM!

Great partner for MAC long tubes

I already said most of the story in the MAC Long tubes review, but it's good to see AM offering these as well. Obviously, this being an off road kit means you're losing the cats, which means 1) It's no longer emissions legal 2) It's going to be much louder. Unless you have a highly talented shop man who can make their own mid pipe that will fit the MAC long tubes, you'll have to have the off road H pipe to go with it. Again a note about the oxygen sensors: in some cases you'll need to have 2 sets of extenders instead of just 1.
