I have a 99 v6 but I would like to have a gt catback, will this x-pipe fit with the ceramic long tube headers you have for the 99-00 v6? And which catback setups will fit as well?

      • The MAC Off-Road X-Pipe is designed specifically for the 4.6L With longtubes, and would not work with your V6 with longtubes. You would need the MAC Off-Road H-Pipe linked below, which will work with GT catbacks on your V6 http://www.americanmuscle.com/mac-or-shorty-hpipe-9904v6.html

Will this trigger a service engine light for my O2's after I install it since the cats are gone? If so, what do I do to fix that? Thanks in advance!!! Mike

      • When installing a off-road mid pipe like the MAC Off-Road X-Pipe (99-04 4.6L w/ Long Tube Headers) you will have a check engine light. to fix this would to either get a Bama custom tuner or the MIL eliminators. Links to each will be below. http://www.americanmuscle.com/x4-custom-tuner-9904gt.html http://www.americanmuscle.com/stmilel.html

would they fit with a pype longtube headers?

      • This shorty mid-pipe is intended to be used with the MAC Long Tubes. As a general rule of thumb when installing Long Tube Headers, the same brand shorty mid-pipe should be used to ensure proper fitment. That being said, you should be able to install this shorty o/r x-pipe with the Pypes Long Tubes. Just be mindful that it may not be a direct bolt-on and some minor adjustments may be needed for a proper install. Hope this helps.

          More fitment issues.

This MAC X pipe is decent but required to be spread apart on header side 1 inch to fit the headers. Not just plug and play here either.

          Mac O/R X Pipe

So their headers are great. However I am pretty disappointed with this product. The mid pipe fitment was pretty awful. You have to connect at the headers first and push up on the opposite end pretty hard to get the best fit. Also had to completely loosen the tail pipes to be able to get a better but still terrible fit. Not upset but this with the mac headers is actually quite a bit quieter than stock manifold and bbk O/R X pipe although because of the long tubes it has more noticeable power. Don't know if this means anything but the cross over hole is only about 1 inch. Don't know how much pulsation that can actually help. A job that should have taken 20 minutes ended up being a bit of a headache.

          Poor quality

I have the catted x pipe from Mac which is by far more superior than the off road x in quality. You would think both flanges on the models would be a standard size and be similar but the off road x comes with junk flanges. I had to drill out the header flanges to get them to fit the Mac headers. Seems like they need to go back to the drawing board on this and all 4 flanges in general

          Sound is so mean

I am a pro chamber fan but couldn’t afford it on this build so I went with the x pipe and I love it.. The sound is great louder then I expected I also have long tube headers that aren’t MAC. I had to do a little adjustment to get it right.. I would suggest anyone that is looking for a cheap build go with the MAC X pipe

          Trash

Bought this x pipe to go with the Mac long tubes and it's not even close to matching up with the headers. It fits on one side, but the other side it is too far out. I expect to get some sort of partial refund since now I have to use my money to modify an x pipe that should have just bolted on.

          Terrible fitment

Does not line up at all with the headers, it's about an inch too narrow. I'll have to modify it or heat it up and bend it so it can fit. And still have to worry about it leaking. For $180, I would've expected a better quality piece.

Have this pipe mated up the the Mac long tube headers; works great and sounds mean! Most go prochamber, but I wanted something a little different. Fit is good finish is meh.. Don't hack up your existing mid pipe, buy this bad boy and sell your old one!

          Sounds great, small fitment issue

Put this midpipe behind new MAC longtubes, only issue was fitment. On front end of pipe that bolts to headers it had to be spread slightly to line up with the headers. Otherwise sealed up tight with no leaks soo far, sounds amazing flowing into Borla S (stingers)

Good product could be a better fit

I had installed these on my 04 mustang gt with a set of mac long tube headers. The fitment of the x pipe was about a quarter of an inch off so i had to bend and tweak this x pipe to work. Overall wasn't bad took about 30 minutes to install. The sound is amazing a nice smoother idle with a little bit of tone and a nice roar when you open it up. Ts a good item and definitely recommend to anyone thinking of a a long tube set up.
