Using with flowmaster outlaws and the sound is awesome. Actually quieter than the outlaws with the factory H pipe except now at wot it sounds like a race car and not two Harleys racing side by side.Helpful (3)

True X Pipe
Spent the extra money and order this despite the cost. A true x pipe instead of tubes next to each other. Also installed Roush axle backs.... nice sound on interstate and can still talk to each other and listen to music. Yet is loud enough when opening the throttle up. Had no trouble during install. 1 bolt on front collector was hard to remove. Very limited wrench movement... had to reuse clamps from factory install.Helpful (8)

I wish they would supply clamps for the price an get the fitment a little more dialed in so you don't have an exhaust leakHelpful (8)

Did the install on Jack and jack stands took about an hour. It's very easy just have to get a angle grinder cut the passenger side clamp off. Bolted the x pipe on, and checked for leaks. Put in the new Bama tune, and went for a drive. You can immediately feel that the car runs smoother, and accelerates quicker. The sound that this x pipe gives is like a race car. I miss the loud muscle car sound, but it's worth it to get more power. I'm thinking of deleting the resonators to get more sound out of it and free up some air flow. Definitely worth the money.Helpful (9)

Great product. I had a muffler shop install it. I took about 45 minutes. No leaks No problems. Great Magnaflow quality. This is the second Mustang that I have installed a Magnaflow X pipe on.Helpful (10)

changed the exhaust note
My dad talked me into a true "x" pipe. Do I picked this one up. My local shop put it on for a hours labor. They said it went on easily, no leaks. I have Borla A type on my 2014 and the x pipe reduced the sound of the muffler about 15 with my untrained ear. It also changed the note some, not as deep. It wasn't the sound I was looking for but everything I read says it helps the system. Headers might help.Helpful (10)

Excellent fit & quality
I was very pleased with this product. I wanted to get rid of the restrictive factory h-pipe but wanted to keep the catalytic converters and not increase the decibel level at normal speeds and it accomplished all that. At WOT it makes such a beautiful sound even my wife loves it! The only negative concerning the installation is that the muffler shop had to cut off the factory ball clamps on the upstream side thanks to Ford installing the fasteners on the inaccessible top side and Ford charges a ridiculous $62/clamp, thus the high installation fee. This is such a common complaint that It would be nice if Magnaflow offered their own cheaper clamps.Helpful (10)

GREAT BUT PRICEY
This is a great sounding X pipe and it actually fits perfect. Sounds great with my FM Outlaws. As for power gains it's hard to say because I have done so many things to my car, but I know there are few more horses in there. It's a little pricey but it's a perfect fit, from a very good company. The quality is top notch!!! Very happy with it.Helpful (9)

We combined the Tru-X X-pipe with the Magnaflow Competition Catback Exhaust. We have not taken it out on the road yet, there is still way too much salt out there, but I can't wait!!! The install time was only about 3 1/2 hours for a couple of backyard mechanics at a friends house with a lift, one more or less holding wrenches and pipes in place with the other doing all the work. We did not have to cut the stock pipes but the clamps were spot welded to tabs on the stock H-pipe. They were easily broken off and the remaining bits of the tabs attached to the clamps were ground off with a bench grinder. Word of caution. . . It is illegal in the state of Ohio to remove the cats. :(Helpful (10)

I received my x pipe a couple days after ordering it. No extra clamps for it though, had to reuse the factory clamps that came on the car for installation. I reused the factory clamps and got everything installed. Cranked it up and had an exhaust leak. The clamps that were closer to the cats are really small and didn't clamp down that good, had to get the shop to weld it in but the back clamps worked out great. As far as sound quality, I wasnt too pleased with it, more flow yes, but as far as sound not so good. So I cut the resonators out and gave me that sound I was looking for. For the power, if there was anything gained, its very little.Helpful (9)
my car is stock, i was thinking of buying this x pipe and magnaflow competiton...if i buy this x pipe do i have to buy the cat back exhaust or axl bac
Totally up to you! This X-pipe will reuse your factory cats and will bolt up to your factory dual exhaust. Therefore, you can either replace your factory duals with a new catback system that would bolt directly to this mid-pipe or you can purchase the axle-back to simply change your mufflers and tips! If you are taking performance gains into consideration for your decision, I'd recommend the catback! Hope this helps!
Hello I need to install Magnaflow Clamp-On Tru-X X-Pipe Change something on the existing exhaust system? Thank you for your answer Greetings Thomas
This can install to an otherwise stock 11-14 Mustang GT.
Would this x pipe fit on my 2012 gt that has the roush exhaust system?
If your Roush exhaust is 3" with the reducer, or 2.5" with an adapter. This system is 3" tubing so you would need to match the sizes accordingly.
Can I use this x pipe with full length headers that have a ball type connection point @ the kid pipe? Basically are the full length headers the same length as the factory manifolds cats combined? If so this mud pipe will work with no cats.
No, if you get long tube headers it is necessary to get a shorter midpipe to compensate, specifically the same brand midpipe to ensure proper fitment with no issues. Not getting the shorter midpipe to compensate will certainly require modifications if you want to make it work.
Does this come with the clamps? I already have this x pipe and the Ford dealer damaged it along with one of the clamps that holds it on to the exhaust pipe. Will i need to buy new clamps or does it come with new ones?
Since the stock clamps are to be reused, it does not come with clamps.
