How to Install Max Trac 2 in. Front Coil Spacers on your F-150

Installation Time

2 hours

COIL SPRING SPACERS

INSTALLATION SHOULD BE DONE BY A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC, EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN WORKIN WITH COIL SPRINGS TO AVOID ANY POSSIBILITY OF INJURY.

1. Jack up the front end of the truck and support the frame rails with jack stands, never work under an unsupported vehicle!

2. Remove front tires, front shocks, sway bar endlinks, and brake calipers. Remove the nut securing the outer tie rod to the spindle and separate tie rod from knuckle.

3. Support the lower control arm with a jack. Remove upper and lower castle nuts from the spindle. Separate the upper and lower ball joints from spindle and set aside. Carefully lower the jack to release coil spring.

4. Install Coil Spring Spacer on the bottom of the coil spring, physical height of coil spring spacer is 1”, but will provide 2” of lift. Leave any / all coil spring insulators in their factor location upon reinstallation.

5. If you are going to use a spring compressor, install it now. Set the coil into the upper spring pocket, align with the teeth in the spring pocket. Rotate coil until the bottom of the coil lines up with lower timing pocket. Using the pry bars, pop the coil into the LCA, raise the jack under the LCA.

6. Reinstall the spindle onto the ball joints, tighten castle nuts and install cotter pins. Reinstall the tie rod and torque the nut, reinstall the caliper and sway bar end links, install shock.

7. Repeat steps for the other side of the vehicle. We recommend driving the truck for at least 50 miles, and then taking it to a professional alignment shop.
