Improves Power and Performance. Uncork the hidden power of your 2015-2019 EcoBoost Mustang by upgrading to a MBRP 3 inch Catted Down Pipe. The innovative design and high flow catalytic converter will effectively improve exhaust flow for an increase in rear wheel horsepower and torque.

Bold Exhaust Tone. Besides improving the power and performance of your EcoBoost Mustang, this MBRP Down Pipe will improve your Pony's sound as well. Because of the Pipes larger diameter, you will gain a much bolder exhaust note when compared to the original factory down pipe.

Durable Construction. MBRP uses only the highest quality materials to manufacture their products. You can trust the quality and craftsmanship of this catted down pipe as it is made from mandrel bent 3 inch stainless steel tubing to ensure extra durability. This Downpipe features two standard O2 fittings for both upstream and downstream O2 sensors.

Direct Bolt-On Installation. MBRP designed their Down Pipe to be a direct bolt-on upgrade replacement for your Mustang's factory down pipe. There is no cutting or extra modifications required. Installation of this new Down Pipe can be completed in about a three hours with just basic hand tools.

Custom Tune May Be Required. This Downpipe was designed to improve the performance of your Mustang without the need of reprogramming your computer. However, depending on the vehicle's stock rear O2 sensors, a custom tune with a Handheld Tuner may be required. By reprogramming the vehicles computer (ECU) you will get the best possible power and performance increases from this Down Pipe.

Not CARB Certified. This Downpipe is not CARB certified, therefore it is not legal for use in California or any other state adopting California emission standards. Not legal for use on pollution controlled motor vehicles; intended for off road use only.

Limited Warranty. MBRP offers customers a limited warranty which covers manufacturing defects in material and workmanship. Some exclusions may apply, please see manufacturer's warranty for details.

Application. This MBRP Catted 3" Down Pipe is specifically designed to fit 2015-2019 EcoBoost Mustangs equipped with the turbocharged 2.3L in-line 4-cylinder engine and a 2.25 inch cat-back exhaust system.

I just ordered the MBRP Race catback and decided to get the MBRP Catted Downpipe with it because the black friday price was too good to pass up. I do not have a tuner yet and might not be able to get one for a few months, is it safe to run the Down pipe and catback on a stock tune for a long period of time? The only other mod is a BOV adapter.

        • A tune is certainly not required with the install of this MBRP 3 inch Down Pipe so it would indeed be safe to drive the Mustang without the tune.

will the down pipe show performance gains without a tune? will the down pipe cause my 2017 mustang ecoboost to lose power when paired with a MBRP cat back without a tune or will it improve performance?

        • This will provide power with out a tune and on the cat-back just not as much as it would with a tune.

Hi, I have a 2015 Mustang Ecoboost and I am planning on ordering the MBRP XP Street Exhaust early next month. I want to keep the same manufacturer going all the way through the exhaust system, so I am now looking at the MBRP catted downpipe. Do these products fit directly to each other as well as with the factory hook ups? Are there any extra parts or adaptors needed or is everything that will be needed for install included with the purchase of these two products? The goal is to have everything ready for my mechanic on the day of install? Thank you!

        • The MBRP 3 in. Down Pipe would hook up very nicely with the MBRP XP series cat-back and would not require anything else for the install.

Is his downpipe 304 stainless steel or 409 stainless steel?

        • This is of T304 stainless steel construction.

The specs here say it is designed to attach to a 2.25" cat back. I have the MBRP Black Series Cat-Back Exhaust w/ Y-Pipe - Race Version already installed. A question posed on that cat back says that the inlet where it pairs to the downpipe is 3". If true that would indicate these two MBRP components would not mate together without some sort of adapter to take a 2.25" downpipe connection to a 3" cat back.. I would hope to have a downpipe and cat back that stays 3" all the way through without having to come down to 2.25" and then back up to 3". Please advise on how these two pieces would work. 1 answer

Ok my question is: Since this product has been offered for a few years now, have American Muscle had any complaints about the Catted Downpipes check engine light coming on after install. I want to buy this but really don't need the trouble on not passing inspection. Please get back. Thanks 1 answer

I currently run a flow.aster outlaw axle back and a flowmaster scavenger y pipe. The y pipe is 2.25 diameter. Since the step down diameter is also 2.25 will they match up together? Or will i need to modify anything to make them fot perfectly? 1 answer
HI, Im getting conflicting responses Dealing with the tuning factors. My question pertains to an actual tune after the installation of this down pipe. Is it necessary? Im running a XP MBRP race edition cat back at the moment. First off, will it fit without adapters? Secondly, will my 2017 ecoboost need a tune after I add this product? I just need clarification. I don't want to tune at the moment, but I would like to add this down pipe if possible without tuning. I have herd that it depends on the rear O2 sensor and year model of the Mustang.. 1 answer

            MBRP 3 inch Catted downpipe.

I already had the MBRP 3 inch cat back with the race mufflers. So I wanted to complete the system with the catted downpipe. It dose make a difference. Stand in it and things get going very quickly! It's a bit louder than before. But not to droney around town. I like it.

            Great sound, slight issue

The pipe did exactly what I wanted it to, opened up the exhaust giving me more noise and performance. The sound of the turbo is amazing. Only negative I have found is the braided portion hangs down an extra inch or two than the stock pipe which causes scraping on speed bumps at stock height. If you lower the car be careful, I've already broken a few strand on the braid.

            Check engine light on

Easy install, sounds great, but check engine light is on now. I have a tune but it doesn't solve the light issue. Called American Muscle and they said there's nothing they can do. They no longer remove check engine lights with a tune. This should be in the listing. If I knew this I probably wouldn't have bought it. And I may have saved myself some money and bought the catless downpipe if I knew the cat pipe wont even pass smog checks. Not with the light on anyways. I asked to return it and they said no since it's been installed. Bottom line is they shouldn't be selling parts that don't work properly with your car.

            Great mod

Just added this on, with the FP Borla Sport exhuast and FP cai and tune already on. May only open up the sound with a stock exhaust, but with the Borla....WOW, very nice sound with combo, can be a little loud when you get on it, but still hardly any cabin noise nor drone at cruising. Had my Ford shop install, took about an hour.

AGAIN MY 18 DOES NOT LIKE 15-17 MADE TO FIT PARTS

The install itself is not bad. My only issue is that the braided section of the pipe rests up against the frame. No matter how I adjust the sections. I left all the bolts loose and moved the pipe away from the frame but as you tighten the assembly it wants to move to the frame. Cant win. With almost all of the aftermarket parts I installed on my 2018 6 speed there is a fit problem and I have to fight to make all of them work. One good thing is that no banging noises or excessive vibration is taking place. No exhaust leeks and the turbo spools up much quicker. Nice! Of course the good old CEL had to occur which by the way should be advertised more clearly in the promotion of this product. And you know MBRP could of included an Oxygen Sensor extender for an extra $10.00 so you can complete the job all in one swoop. I found a Vibrant 11619 J-Style Oxygen Sensor Restrictor for $35.00 and it solved that issue. Thanks MBRP. All in all I like the product I just cant give it higher marks because of fit issues.

            Perfect!

I ordered the MBRP catted Down pipe to finish my exhaust on my 2018 mustang ecoboost. I already installed the XP series MBRP race catback months ago but it just needed a little more noise to wake the neighbors. It took about an hour to install with a floor jack. It fit perfectly and sounds alot louder with more turbo noise. It shipped quickly and made it to alaska in only 2 days which is amazing. 10/10 would recommend!

            Easy Install

Definetly pairs well with the MRBR race inch exhaust. Most people don't believe its a 4 cylinder. Buddy of mine installed this plus the race exhaust on jacks in about two hours... he's also 17.
