How long does the roll last? Does it need to be replaced at a certain amount of miles?

    • The Mishimoto Exhaust Heat Wrap does not have a life period where it must be changed. We would recommend changing the wrap if it becomes frayed or has started to come off.

I recently bought two bbk ceramic longtubes for my 2016 3.7 and i was wondering if i could wrap the headers with one roll or would need two of these two wrap them head to toe?

    • You may be cutting it close with one roll of the heat wrap. Generally 15' will wrap one header, but it also depends on how you wrap it.

Material? Is this made of titanium or fiberglass?

    • The Mishimoto Exhaust Heat Wrap is made of titanium.

CAI wrap? Could this also be used to wrap a cold air intake pipe? If so how many rolls would I need? I would be wrapping a BBK CAI for my 02 Gt

    • This roll is 35 feet long. You can easily wrap a few CAIs and still have a bit left for your next project. Good luck.

is it paint able? Can it be painted?

    • I would not paint the Mishimoto Exhaust Heat Wrap as it can very well cause a fire hazard.

Will this heat wrap help keep my plug wires from melting? My 95 GT has a set of shorty headers and on the drivers side I keep melting the back plug wire. Its melting it right at the boot, where it actually goes over the plug. Will wrapping my headers in your exhaust wrap solve this problem? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. 1 answer
Can this be used further down the pipes? It seems like wrapping this fairly far down your exhaust system would be a good idea. I don't know what temperature cats get to, so you might have to leave those unwrapped. The hotter exhaust would get the corrosive elements of the exhaust out of the system prolonging it's life. I was thinking about going past the front footwell at least. 1 answer

      ceramic headers.

Does not work well on ceramic coating. Tends to be to slick for it to stay put. It may work better on stainless, because that tends to be a rougher surface. The wrap itself is great.

      Mid-Pipe Exhaust Wrap

Used heat wrap to cover exhaust mid-pipe from manifold connection down to catalytic converter. Eliminates some heat soak in engine bay. Accelerates heating of exhaust gasses leaving headers, entering catalytic converters, making a more efficient system.

      Dual Purpose

I used the exhaust wrap on my Borla exhaust over axle pipe to reduce radiant heat to the axle and eliminate clanging caused by my drivers side pipe hitting the fuel tank and axle over bumps. Had to order some extra 13'' steel ties in order to complete the job. Overall a good product.

      Heat Wrap

To get a good wrap on long tubes, you will def. need 2-3 wraps depending if you want to go all the way to the flange. Will give an odd smell when first heated up, BUT these def. keep the car cool. I would also consider using some different clamps with this set. Wish they weren't priced as high as they are, but a good purchase none-the-less.

      Dual Purpose....

Bought this to reduce heat from the catted Magnaflo X-Pipe I had installed along with a pair of Flowmaster 44's. The cats were causing all kinds of heat through the floorboards and this heat wrap takes care of it. The "Dual Purpose' part is I had an issue with the passenger side tailpipe being too close to the frame and would bang every time I made a left turn. That just ruined an otherwise awesome sounding exhaust system. A few wraps in the right spot instantly resolved the issue and now it sounds like it should. Gave this 3 stars for Fit as the metal ties are all but useless - they are so short they will not make it around the pipes, let alone any wrap that's on them. The kit did come with JUST two longer metal ties and those worked really well. The shorter ones were thrown into the spare parts box - I might use them one day for something else....

Good Product but Hard to Install

This product definitively reduces heat from the exhaust. I attempted to install this on my long tube headers while they were installed. If you want to put this on, take the headers off to make it a lot easier. I probably should have bought 2 35' rolls to cover everything right.

      Exhaust wrap

I used this wrap because my driver side floorboard would get extremely hot and I wrapped my mid pipe and no more hot feet! The provided clamps are kind of lacking but I used hose clamps and it worked beaitifully! Thanks AM I never buy from anyone else
