Improve Throttle Response. When Ford started adding Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Technology, also know as Drive-By-Wire, to the Mustang, there is a lag between the time you hit the accelerator pedal and when the throttle body opens. No matter how hard or fast you hit the pedal, the throttle body opens at the same rate. The Sprint Booster Power Converter is the perfect solution to overcome the throttle response delay, by increasing the signal from the pedal to the throttle body. Even though this doesn't add any horsepower to your Mustang, it does make your throttle response more sensitive, which helps to improve your safety during overtaking, quick gear changes and uphill starts.

3 Selectable Modes. The Sprint Booster allows you to choose from 3 different modes with just a push of a button. With the included selector switch, you will be able to choose between Off (No Light), Sport Mode (Green Light) and Race Mode (Red Light). If you don't want the selector switch to be plain view, so no one messes with the settings, you can select your preferred mode and then remove it. The Sprint Booster will save and operate in the mode you have selected.

Off Mode (No Light). If you occasionally allow people to borrow your Pony, you may want to keep it in the Off position. This will allow your acceleration be set at the factory settings.

Sport Mode (Green Light). If you are looking to add a mild bump in acceleration over the factory settings, then the Sport Mode would be for you. This setting is a progressive opening that ideal for soft or everyday day driving.

Race Mode (Red Light). Once you select Race Mode, this is where you can get the most fun. This mode provides you maximum acceleration that is ideal for sport or aggressive driving. It's a linear opening, that is almost a 1:1 ratio, to give you a throttle response like the drive-by-cable throttle bodies featured on the classic Mustangs.

Plug & Play Installation. Installation of the Sprint Booster couldn't be any simpler. Featuring a compact design, the Sprint Booster plugs directly between factory harness and accelerator module. Simply unplug the factory harness from your accelerator module, plug the Sprint Booster to the module and then plug the factory harness to the Sprint Booster.

Compatible with Aftermarket Programmers. The Sprint Booster Power Converter can be used in conjunction with common aftermarket OBD-II programmers and/or monitors such as: SCT, Diablosport, Hypertech, Superchips, Bully Dog, and Edge.

Application. This Sprint Booster Power Converter is designed to be used on all 2005 to 2010 Mustangs, including the V6, GT, Bullitt, and Shelby GT500. Please choose your correct application from the options above.

The headline reads for 05-10 ALL, however, when selecting, it is saying only for automatic. That's the first thing I am confused on. Second, if you watch the video, Stephanie is driving a S550 (15-17) manual and one of the pics posted, you can tell that it is on a S550 car. I have a 2016 Ecoboost automatic, can this be used on it?

  • If you have a 2016 Mustang, you would need to use this Sprint Booster V3 Power Converter: http://www.americanmuscle.com/sprint-booster-v3-power-converter-1117all.html

Is a tune required after installation? I am currently running a 91r tune on my manual 08 GT/CS with K N CAI, Flowmaster axleback exhaust, 62mm GMS TB, 3.73 gears UD pulleys. Will this make a noticeable difference? Thanks,

Tipper

  • The Sprint Booster Power Converter does not require a tune, as it will only increase the signal from the pedal to the throttle body. The power converter will increase the throttle response regardless of modifications, and it does provide a nice, noticeable difference.

Will this still make a difference with an after market throttle body?

JaySki

  • The Sprint Booster Power Converter will help reduce throttle delay, and it would compliment well with an aftermarket throttle body.

My mustang is supercharged will it work with it

  • As long as the throttle body uses the same plug as the stock throttle body this will work.

This thing is the real thing.

This little module does wonders! It's great on my 12 GT500. However, my car is modified so I find race mode (red) to be too much for daily driving. My boost comes in around 10 throttle which is great for racing situations (drag strip or road course of course). But for daily driving I leave it in sport mode (green). Those that say this product is bogus just haven't tried it and look to deep into it. Best way I can describe it is that it takes a whole lot less effort to "get going". I'll leave it there since there are a ton of more specific reviews here and all over the Internet.

    Sprint Booster

I was skeptical about this but after reading the reviews decided to give it a try. Wow. I noticed the difference immediately. The response is far greater than stock. I highly recommend this mod. I'm still playing with the settings (green might be better in city, red on the freeway) but very happy with the purchase. And, installation is a breeze!

Made my car feel brand new

This throttle enhancement device is something I wish I had sooner. Makes my 06 GT jump. More powerful acceleration with the touch of a button. I live on the red maximum setting and I'm betting anyone would. The factory setting is conservative for drivability to anyone. I like to drive and this product is worth every cent to me because it makes my favorite toy way more fun. I eyeballed this for months the one day it went on sale so I pulled the trigger. Highly recommend!

    NOT WORTH IT

I love AM and haven't went anywhere else to get all my parts, never had an issue but this is Defiantly the WORST product i have bought from AM. Very little if anything changed. Not worth the money, do not buy! very upset i wasted all that money on this.

    Throttle on point!!!

Because the throttle response is a lot sensitive and less pedal press is required. It seems much easier to engage gears, especially 1st which is always a bit tricky for my 08 GT500. Also like everyone else stated, it does feel like 100hp was added. At first I did not think I needed this booster nor did I think it would make a significant difference but I was so wrong.

    Definitely worth it.

When you receive the booster your first thought maybe all that money for this. Then you notice how heavy duty it really is. It is kind of cramped putting it on, took about 10 minutes to do the whole thing and most of that was deciding where to locate the button. It works great. Before any other mod I would recommend this first. Really improves performance. I have a 2017 gt manual. Convertible.

    Amazing difference

When you gas your mustang you will notice an incredible difference. There is no lag time what so ever. The 0-60 in my stang was changed by a lot. This is the best mod I have done to my 2015 Ecoboost.

Pricy but is a good upgrad.

Very easy to install, even for a guy 250#. Just get on your back and dive in. You can absolutely tell a difference between "race" mode and turning off. The sport mode is a slight increase but not all that much of a difference. I think when the tuner and larger throttle body are installed I think it will be a great modification.

    Adds to a tune car!

This adds to a tune. I'm currently using unleashed 93 tune. The sprint booster just enhances the tune nothing drastically but just enough th to take out any lag. I must say its best to be a small frame person to install because of the awkward position you need to install. I'm glad I'm not a big person. The car is my daily driver so I think this is a good mod. I've driven in both positions and prefer the performance mode(green).

    Sprint Booster

I have Mpt tune on my 2012 and it's unpredictable on power output. Sometimes it'll take off nicely and sometimes it'll be laggy even in identical situations. This device makes the car snappy everywhere especially in lower rpm's and on highways. I love it. No more lag. I keep it on red setting. got it taped on steering wheel lever arm.

    It does what it says.

We have all experienced it, that lag when you step on the gas that shouldn't be there in a Mustang. Look no further because this will fix it. This couldn't be any simplier to install and use. Just plug it in and press a button. I ususally leave it on Green for daily driving to get a more responsive pedal and Red makes my 05 GT a beast off a red light. Yes it is expensive but in my opinion your getting exactly what you paid for.

    Easiet mod ever

This was the fastest mod I have ever installed, simply plugs in at the top accelerator pedal and instant performance. I was skeptical at first, but as soon as I drove it, all doubt was gone, an incredible mod, with instant satisfaction

Missing piece for my HP upgrades

2012 5.0 manual 41k daily driver with Steeda air box and 101mm MAF housing and SCT premium fuel tune. The power booster was the missing piece. Does exactly what is says it will do. Easy install if you don't mind wedging yourself under the dash. Take along a couple of cable ties with you while your down there. Three stars for $300, otherwise five. I understand development costs and the need for liability insurance, but $300? That's $75/wire.
