Improve Throttle Response. When Ford started adding Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Technology, also know as Drive-By-Wire, to the Mustang, there is a lag between the time you hit the accelerator pedal and when the throttle body opens. No matter how hard or fast you hit the pedal, the throttle body opens at the same rate. The Sprint Booster Power Converter is the perfect solution to overcome the throttle response delay, by increasing the signal from the pedal to the throttle body. Even though this doesn't add any horsepower to your Mustang, it does make your throttle response more sensitive, which helps to improve your safety during overtaking, quick gear changes and uphill starts.

3 Selectable Modes. The Sprint Booster allows you to choose from 3 different modes with just a push of a button. With the included selector switch, you will be able to choose between Off (No Light), Sport Mode (Green Light) and Race Mode (Red Light). If you don't want the selector switch to be plain view, so no one messes with the settings, you can select your preferred mode and then remove it. The Sprint Booster will save and operate in the mode you have selected.

Off Mode (No Light). If you occasionally allow people to borrow your Pony, you may want to keep it in the Off position. This will allow your acceleration be set at the factory settings.

Sport Mode (Green Light). If you are looking to add a mild bump in acceleration over the factory settings, then the Sport Mode would be for you. This setting is a progressive opening that ideal for soft or everyday day driving.

Race Mode (Red Light). Once you select Race Mode, this is where you can get the most fun. This mode provides you maximum acceleration that is ideal for sport or aggressive driving. It's a linear opening, that is almost a 1:1 ratio, to give you a throttle response like the drive-by-cable throttle bodies featured on the classic Mustangs.

Plug & Play Installation. Installation of the Sprint Booster couldn't be any simpler. Featuring a compact design, the Sprint Booster plugs directly between factory harness and accelerator module. Simply unplug the factory harness from your accelerator module, plug the Sprint Booster to the module and then plug the factory harness to the Sprint Booster.

Compatible with Aftermarket Programmers. The Sprint Booster Power Converter can be used in conjunction with common aftermarket OBD-II programmers and/or monitors such as: SCT, Diablosport, Hypertech, Superchips, Bully Dog, and Edge.

Application. This Sprint Booster Power Converter is designed to be used on all 2005 to 2010 Mustangs, including the V6, GT, Bullitt, and Shelby GT500. Please choose your correct application from the options above.

Does this product work with an automatic transmisssion?

      • Hi, This Power Converter will work with all 05-10 Mustangs with a automatic transmission.

The headline reads for 05-10 ALL, however, when selecting, it is saying only for automatic. That's the first thing I am confused on. Second, if you watch the video, Stephanie is driving a S550 (15-17) manual and one of the pics posted, you can tell that it is on a S550 car. I have a 2016 Ecoboost automatic, can this be used on it?

      • If you have a 2016 Mustang, you would need to use this Sprint Booster V3 Power Converter: http://www.americanmuscle.com/sprint-booster-v3-power-converter-1117all.html

Will this only work on manual transmission?

      • This sprint booster power converter will only work for manual transmissions.

Is a tune required after installation? I am currently running a 91r tune on my manual 08 GT/CS with K N CAI, Flowmaster axleback exhaust, 62mm GMS TB, 3.73 gears UD pulleys. Will this make a noticeable difference? Thanks,

      • The Sprint Booster Power Converter does not require a tune, as it will only increase the signal from the pedal to the throttle body. The power converter will increase the throttle response regardless of modifications, and it does provide a nice, noticeable difference.

Will this still make a difference with an after market throttle body?

      • The Sprint Booster Power Converter will help reduce throttle delay, and it would compliment well with an aftermarket throttle body.

          The Way It Should Be

I set this to the maximum or "Race" sensitivity. Now the throttle responds like a well tuned engine with direct throttle linkage. If your driving style includes rev-matched heel and toe downshifting this is a terrific modification that removes that vague delay when blipping the throttle. This does NOT make your car faster although the throttle response is so immediate you may feel like it's got more power. The increased sensitivity takes a little getting used to but actually makes smooth starts easier after you get accustomed to the response. I'd give this 5 stars but for the cost. I think the price is outrageous as this is only about $65 worth of hardware at the most. Nevertheless I'm very glad I bought it.

Made my car feel brand new

This throttle enhancement device is something I wish I had sooner. Makes my 06 GT jump. More powerful acceleration with the touch of a button. I live on the red maximum setting and I'm betting anyone would. The factory setting is conservative for drivability to anyone. I like to drive and this product is worth every cent to me because it makes my favorite toy way more fun. I eyeballed this for months the one day it went on sale so I pulled the trigger. Highly recommend!

          Throttle on point!!!

Because the throttle response is a lot sensitive and less pedal press is required. It seems much easier to engage gears, especially 1st which is always a bit tricky for my 08 GT500. Also like everyone else stated, it does feel like 100hp was added. At first I did not think I needed this booster nor did I think it would make a significant difference but I was so wrong.

          Definitely worth it.

When you receive the booster your first thought maybe all that money for this. Then you notice how heavy duty it really is. It is kind of cramped putting it on, took about 10 minutes to do the whole thing and most of that was deciding where to locate the button. It works great. Before any other mod I would recommend this first. Really improves performance. I have a 2017 gt manual. Convertible.

          Amazing difference

When you gas your mustang you will notice an incredible difference. There is no lag time what so ever. The 0-60 in my stang was changed by a lot. This is the best mod I have done to my 2015 Ecoboost.

Pricy but is a good upgrad.

Very easy to install, even for a guy 250#. Just get on your back and dive in. You can absolutely tell a difference between "race" mode and turning off. The sport mode is a slight increase but not all that much of a difference. I think when the tuner and larger throttle body are installed I think it will be a great modification.

Alot more get up and go...

I have a 2012 Auto Mustang GT with alot of Mods. including a 93 SCT Bama race tune, 3.73 gear, and Pro Charger. I did not think this Sprint Booster would make a whole lot of difference. Well it does. Shifts fast and RPMs move much faster as well as speed. Yeah $300 bucks for this makes you think if its worth it. It does for me since it works well with the other Mods. I have.

This thing is the real thing.

This little module does wonders! It's great on my 12 GT500. However, my car is modified so I find race mode (red) to be too much for daily driving. My boost comes in around 10 throttle which is great for racing situations (drag strip or road course of course). But for daily driving I leave it in sport mode (green). Those that say this product is bogus just haven't tried it and look to deep into it. Best way I can describe it is that it takes a whole lot less effort to "get going". I'll leave it there since there are a ton of more specific reviews here and all over the Internet.
