Overhauling Overview

  • Bumper letters show off your model mustang in either black or chrome letters
  • Decklid panels are a bold accent that’s easy to install
  • Protect your Mustang’s bumper with a bumper tray vinyl
  • A rear valance vinyl can easily show of the decklid panel as well, while furthering your Mustang’s style

Bumper Insert Letters - Vinyl or Steel?

Your stock rear bumper, no matter what model you own, will have an indentation letting anyone following you know that you drive either a Mustang or a Cobra. Why not make it more pronounced with the addition of some rear bumper insert letters? They are available in several different colors such as black, black chrome, matte black, carbon fiber, silver, white, and stainless steel. Depending on your budget and personal preferences, these letters are obtainable in either a stainless steel construction or premium cast vinyl. Both options will last for years, will look fantastic, and will really start the transformation of your Mustang. The simple installation takes about a half an hour, won’t break the bank, and will have you saying, “what took me so long to finally do this?”

Vinyl Decklid Panels or High Impact Plastic?

The next highly popular area to get a little overhaul done by many a Mustang fanatic would be the rear decklid panel. It gives that retro muscle car styling and really brings the back end of the car together. This area between the tail lights can appear very plain or worn out depending on what model Mustang you own. Similar to the rear bumper insert letters, the decklid panels are available in a few options. We carry an ABS plastic honeycomb deck lid panel that is one of our HOT products and installs easily with the supplied 3M tape in approximately 30 minutes. For those who favor the premium cast vinyl products, we do carry several color options – black, matte black or white. You can’t go wrong with either material or style as they’re both high quality, durable pieces to keep your Mustang looking its best for years to come.

Bumper Tray and Lower Rear Valance Vinyls

Now, the two previously mentioned mods have been done by many and for good reason – it adds that aggressive look everyone wants on a Muscle Car! But, what will really set you and your Mustang apart and grab onlooker’s attention? Two areas of your rear bumper that get overlooked more often than not: the bumper tray and the lower valance.

The bumper tray accent is the area just below the deck lid panel and just above the bumper insert letters. This area gets a lot of traffic from opening your trunk and can get pretty scratched up over time. AmericanMuscle carries colors to match with your new deck lid panel, coming in black, matte black and white and it will give your seasoned Sally some sprucing up.

Don’t stop there though – complete your full rear end overhaul with a rear lower valance accent. You guessed it, it too comes in black, matte and white to eliminate any guess work on what matches what and will be one of the last things the competition will see while you leave them in the dust!
