        5 Top Rated Questions

Hello does this set of six NGK G-Power Platinum Performance Spark Plugs fit a 05 mustang v6 4.0 without needing to be gapped?

        • Hello! The NGK G-Power Platinum Performance Spark Plugs will be pregapped to 0.060 in.

What is the gap size for these spark plugs?

        • The plug gap should be 1.5 mm = 0.060 in.

On the NGK website, they recommend against using anti-seize on these plugs due to their trivalent plating. I just want a second opinion to confirm.

        • The trivalent metal plating provides anti-corrosion and anti-seizing properties however, depending on who you ask, some enthusiasts still use anti-seize as a "just in case" backup while others just fasten down the plug.

I see these plugs are for 05 4.0 by, but it says pregapped at .60, which contradicts other areas of the site that say it should be gapped between .40 and. 50 with stock being best at .53 Which is best for stock v6 2005? 5 2007 V6 - P17 Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

            Easy direct replacement

I was replacing my oem coil pack and decided I should do the whole system at once. These are great and don't break the bank. I checked the gap and they did come as specified, but I widened them a bit to go with my higher voltage coil. Make sure your engine is warm when pulling the old ones out, it makes it easier.

            As Advertised!!..

Ordered the MGK G-Power Platinum Plugs, Taylor Street Thunder 8mm Spark Plug Wires and the Screamin Demon Coil Pack. Installed and gapped plugs to .65. All systems go and definitely can tell the difference. Smoother idle and a bit quicker on the take off. Sure you arent going to get a V8 out of a V6 with just this setup but it brings something to the table. Good stuff!!..Vroom....

            Platinum spark plugs

All the plugs I got were already correctly spaced to .056. Threaded in very nicely as well. Noticed the engine smoothed out at idle, as well as at higher rpm.

I just received my spark plugs 2 days ago and and I notice my car shaking like crazy ! So I took off the ngk’s and there was the problem the spark plugs cracked/broke so I wasted $30 for nothing because now I have to buy another set from autozone! Didn’t work for me

            Don’t waste your money

Don’t waste your money on these , made the mistake of listening to the reviews. Didn’t work for me as others say it worked for them. Also noticed it’s a Japanese brand , why would you want to put a Japanese brand to put in an American muscle car. Just think about that. Went with the original motorcraft platinum spark plugs instead which are couple bucks cheaper and your local autozone or auto parts will carry them. Put those in and returned the car to normal idle. If you want to wait for spark plugs feel free to order these but there’s no real point. Plus scream’n demon with Taylor wires didn’t work will with ngk but worked well with motorcraft. I highly recommend motorcraft but TO EACH IS OWN !
