Maintenance Repair. If you are experiencing intermittent check engine lights or rough running conditions it may be caused by a bad oxygen sensor harness. O2 harnesses are exposed to the elements and road debris on a daily basis and this could cause them to become damaged. So replace your malfunction harnesses with a brand new set from AmericanMuscle.

Superior Quality. 24 inches longer than stock, this replacement harness is manufactured from quality automotive grade wire with a high temperature covering for extra protection and features factory correct connectors and terminals for an easy trouble-free installation.

Application. This replacement O2 sensor harness is specifically designed to fit 1996 to 1998 4.6L Mustangs with an automatic or manual transmission, including the GT and SVT Cobra models. Please Note. 02 sensors are not included.

I traced both harnesses. The OPR EXTENDED O2 SENSOR WIRE HARNESS (96-98 4.6L) seems to connect both upstream o2 sensors. Do you sell the harness or the downstream o2 sensors? Also, would MIL eliminators work, if there is a problem with the downstream harness? MIL Eliminators https://www.americanmuscle.com/stmilel.html

      • The OPR Extended O2 Sensor Wire Harness will connect to both of your front/upstream O2 sensors (bank 1 sensor 1, bank 2 sensor 1) At this time, we do not offer a harness for the rear/downstream sensors (bank 1 sensor 2, bank 2 sensor 2). MIL eliminators will work by intercepting the rear O2 sensor signal and modifying it to prevent codes P0420 and p0430 from becoming active (catalyst efficiency, bank 1 and bank 2), however codes for wiring issues such as a short, low/high voltage etc will not be effected by the MIL eliminators.

I would like to replace my driver side and passenger side harnesses with two of these for my 97 mustang with a cated mid pipe. I don't see where the connection is in the engine bay. Where should the black connector go?

      • Unfortunately, without looking at the vehicle or having a wiring diagram directly, we would not be able to properly advise the exact location of the black connector in the engine bay, however, we would recommend following the wiring harness for the O2 sensors currently on the vehicle to the main source connector, it is usually located on or near the transmission.
