Review & Install Video

Hey, I’m Justin with, here with a way to add the convenience of one touch operation of the convertible top, and your rear quarter windows for all 2010 and up convertible Mustangs. Having the one touch feature for the front windows from the factory is great but why didn’t that transfer over to your rear quarter windows, or especially that convertible top. Well now thanks to this module, available either for those quarter windows or your convertible top, you can enjoy what should have been in the first place, easy one touch operation. Installing one of these modules will take you about 2 hours and does require a small amount of wiring, if you don’t feel up to the task then you might want to leave this in the hands of professionals. However if you’re confident to tackle some light wiring the install shouldn’t be that bad. If you get stuck you can always reference the detailed instructions on this page, or give one of our customer service reps a call – they’ll be happy to help you out. Now this module does not interfere with the vehicle motion sensor so if you have accidentally hit the top up button when you’re rolling down the highway, your tops not going to go flying up on you, just a nice little peace of mind. When it comes down to it these modules are definitely a luxury and not a necessity, but if you’re like me, and you enjoy a little added convenience in your day to day life, then these control modules for either your convertible top, or your rear quarter windows, would make a great addition to your ride.

Convertible Upgrade. Convertible owners are you tired of your arm cramping up while pressing the Convertible Top switch waiting for your top to go up or down? Well now you can save your arm and time with the Mustang One Touch Convertible Top Module available from AmericanMuscle.

One Touch Functionality. The One Touch Module allows you to raise or lower your top with only one touch. Just "touch" and release the switch, the top will raise or lower to the end and then stops.

Application. This Mustang One Touch Convertible Top Module/Switch is designed for use with the 2005-2009 S197 convertible Mustang, including the V6, GT and Shelby GT500 models. Installation is easy with all the necessary hardware included.

Fun, but messes with a ton of the wiring

It's a great product, but you have to mess with so many wires it makes me less confident in the reliability of the wiring. I'm not positive I'd purchase it a second time.

Works and install was not too complicated

The product installed great. The only issue I came accross was after I reconnected my battery, the Tire Pressure sensor fault came up. I actually took the entire panels out again just to make sure I got all connections right and did not break any wires. The fault took about 30 mins to clear on its own. What a relief. I suggest this be included in the install instructions. Its definatly a project that requires some confidence is slicing and cutting wires since factory harness is very dense and tightly wound. But overall, the instructions were spot on. Feels good to finally get the project done.

    great add on

I bought this about a year ago and have used it heavily since I installed it. It has held up great had it is so nice doing a press and release rather than sitting there holding abutton down. gets rid of that my car is to cheap for an automatic top control look.

    Great item.

The module works great. Somewhat easy to install if you follow the directions. It took me just over a half-hour. It does make a rat's nest of wires a little messier, but it is hidden and out of sight. If you have reached bi-focal age, have a helper who can see. What Ford considers yellow and orange looks somewhat like dirty white or tan.

    Great product!

Installation and programming was a breeze. I do a lot of alarm system installs so this was a piece of cake for me. I opted to strip and solder everything rather than use their quick connects since I always feel that is a better connection. Really nice product and great for the lazy man who doesn't want to hold the top button down for our painfully slow convertible tops on these cars!

    One Touch Module

All in all this was a great install. I wish the instructions had been a bit clearer on the use of the zip ties and such but once you sat and looked at the wiring it was not to bad. Just make sure you get the correct harness for each of the steps. I would have been done much sooner had I cut into the right one the first time. Customer service was awesome. I had to call them late in the day and was greeted by an actual person. As for the actual item it is great. Hit the button and wait for it to drop. Much better than holding the button. I have already suggested this item to several other convertible owners.

    Works like it supposed to

The original I was sent did not work which caused me to be really mad, but I called the service number and once a new one was sent to me it took very little time to finish the job. The total job should have taken less than an hour and other than finding that one red wire with the yellow stripe it was almost too easy. The product itself is great and I would suggest everyone get one if you don't want to hold the button to get the top to go up and down.

Great product, should have been original equipment.

Would have given it 5 stars if it had better wire connectors. Wire nuts, in my opinion are not good fasteners for automotive wiring.

easy installation and more efficient - should have been factory !

Took me 45 minutes to install, very easy and no more holding your hand up in the air waiting for the top to go down. Worth every penny.

    Great Product

I was worried about the install but it was not as bad as I was thinking it would be. It took me about 1 hour or so to install and I was taking my time. It was also very easy to program. One touch, the windows drop and so does the top. To raise the top, again only one touch. What a great product!!! Thanks American Muscle.

    Works perfectly

As with everything I've ordered via AM so far it arrived quickly with a bunch of other goodies I ordered. Installation went pretty smooth considering it was my first time working with electronics. I felt the instructions provided were adequate and it took me less than an hour to finish. The module works as advertised....why is this not standard on the 2005-2009 convertibles and have the newest models incorporated something like this??? Anyway, I would highly recommend this if you have a convertible and the temperature allows you to take the top down now and then.

    Worth the money

This works perfect, and not too bad to install. I had light bar already that was wired when the top was up the brake light would not come on. I did not have to use the light bar steps according to the instructions.

    Awesome product

I have to say, at first, it was a pain. Installation is difficult because of two reasons: 1) The space you have to work with is very limited and you have to be a contortionist to get to it. 2) The wires we work with are very tiny and you really can't get a wire stripper in there so it needs to be done with a razer blade. A few more problems to be aware of, the quick splice connectors don't make a 100% connection, which I found out when it wouldn't work at first. Don't use them. Cut the wires and wire-nut them or solder. After installed and a few days of flawless operation, the convertible lid began going up on it's own without stopping as soon as the key was turned off and even when taken out of the car. Called AM, had a new one sent and it's worked great since! Overall, difficult installation, but it's nice to get in, push the button and watch everything go down while I can do other things at the same time! It's worth it!
