msd Can I use this with a msd distributor or will bad things actually happen

    Mags10298908

    • If your car came with the black module then you want to stay with the black. I used this on my 94 and it worked but I kept getting the 212 code, spout to ground. After some intense reading I found that there are 2 wires that are nor the same. My car ran but kept sending the 212 code.

CEL? If I use this on my 95 will it make the check engine light come on? And would my chip need to be retuned?

    Billysn95

    • I used this on my SN95 and it did cause the 212 code because if your car came with a black module then you need to stay with black, from all the reading I did there are 2 wires that are switched on the grey module. My car would run but I kept getting the 212 code, spout to ground. Hope this helps you out. As far as needing a new tune it did not help me until I changed back to a black module. Then my old tune was fine again.

      Fixed the issue instantly

I was stranded at the lake with the old TFI took a dive and after getting it home I bought this. It started right up with no issue, the only thing I have to say is few and far between most likely. My mustang was originally auto and swapped to manual, I had to use the auto module which was confusing but not a huge hurdle to figure out. Overall very glad with this product.

      Save your money

I have installed 3 of these all with the same result. The car will not go past 2000 rpms. The oem module works perfect. Don't waste your money

      Does not work as stated

I received this module when I purchased a distributor, so I did not purchase it. Though I was happy to see the claimed gains and looked forward to it. The first one I received was incorrect for the vehicle and physically would not fit. I called and they shipped another one, I received it very quickly (usual for AM), installed it and the car will not rev over 2k, it is like a built in launch control, but once you launch, that's it, no more acceleration. Was not fun the first time pulling out of my neighborhood onto a 2 lane 55mph road and not being able to accelerate... Called and swapped out again for another (third one) and same issue, will not rev over 2k. I have given up on the module, have a collection of them now, and am still using the stock one... This is the only time I have had any issues with any items from AM.

Defective right out of the box!!!!

Ordered this part for my 1995 5.0, it came in the mail today and I was pretty excited about replacing the original thats been on the car since 95, installed this part and the first ten minutes of driving was amazing way better than stock, then my car bucked a couple times at high rpm then smoothed out and seemed to be okay. Tonight on my way to work this item gave out and I could barely drive my car, thank God I made it to my job where I could put my old 1995 icm back on, car runs just like it should again. If this is the best Performance Distributors can do then I definitely will not be purchasing their distributor as previously planned. Going to get my money back and invest in Motorcraft do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on this garbage.

Bad out of box and replacement was bad out of box

So I got a new Dyna Mod module with a new distributor. Bad out of the box, car missing, bucking, wouldn't rev over 2500 rpm. Reinstalled original module, car runs fine. I had to buy another one to try and get the work finished... The replacement module also, bad out of the box. Put the old module back in and again, car runs fine. So that's 2 out of 2. Who would ever imagine? What the heck?

      worth buying

Lets face it our 5.0 motors are older now.. the stock electronics have been used for a long time. And technology sure has come a long way. The tfi took me about 1.0 hour to install. Would be quicker but my supercharger powerpipe is right in that area... car starts, runs smoother..

Small Part - Big Performance Gain

My 1995 Cobra is 20 years old now. She is starting to show her age. I was sometimes having problems starting the engine and I had a bad bog above 3,000 RPMs. I decided it was time to do a total ignition upgrade with a Performance Distributors TFI module, coil, plug wires, plugs, distributor, and coil. I did everything at once, so it is tough to tell what made the biggest difference. But my Cobra is back to pulling hard the way she did when I first got her.

      Good Replacement Part

Stock module burned up and stalled my 95 Mustang GT by the side of the road. Ordered this Dyna Module and got it a few days later. Instructions and thermal compound are included. Installation was quick and easy if you have a set of small deep sockets to remove it. Performance gains were minimal but it idles more smoothly and I was happy to have my Mustang working again.

      Dyna-Module upgrade

Although there wasn't much of a performance upgrade the Dyna-Module is a perfect fit.
