Hey, guys. Stephanie with americanmuscle.com, here with a review of the BMR Adjustable Motor Mount Kit with Polyurethane Bushings for the 2005 and newer GT and V6 Mustang. In this video, we're going to talk about the features and benefits of these motor mounts, and I'll talk about the install as well. I'll get into more detail in a little bit, but I can tell you right now that this install will require a little bit of knowledge and some tools. So I'm going to call it a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. The BMR Adjustable Motor Mount Kit is something that you're going to want to check out if you're looking for a few things. First, if you're looking to reduce deflection and movement with the engine or the drivetrain for any power level or application, then you should check these out. Second, if you're looking for a way to avoid underhood clearance issues, these would also be a good option for you. The factory motor mounts have rubber bushings and you've probably heard me say this before, but I'm going to say it again. Rubber bushings are soft, and they allow for a lot of movement and deflection. They're used from the factory for comfort reasons. If you're looking for performance or you drive hard, you'll notice the downfalls of the deflection in these bushings, even if you don't have a highly-modified car. These motor mounts are designed to eliminate a lot of that deflection through the polyurethane bushings. The poly bushings are stiffer than the factory rubber bushings, and so they aren't going to allow for the same movement and deflection. Less deflection means a better transfer of power and torque through the drivetrain into the rear wheels. It also means more accurate shifts, since you won't have that deflection traveling through the drivetrain. Because these help with the deflection that's seen in even a stock motor, these are going to work for any power level or application, so street performance, drag race, or road race. Now, less deflection usually equates to more NVH, or noise, vibration, and harshness. Since these have poly bushings though, they aren't going to cause a big increase in NVH and they're still going to keep a lot of the engine vibration away from the cabin. I will say that the poly bushings do a good job. But if you're shopping for a hardcore drag or road race application where all deflection needs to be eliminated, you can always go with a solid mount upgrade instead. The other improvement over stock with these is the height adjustment. These motor mounts can put the motor at the factory height, or it can have it sitting lower, either a quarter-inch lower or half an inch lower. Now, this is great news if you're concerned about issues with underhood clearance. So I'm talking to all you top mount Supercharger guys, you tall manifold guys, and those of you trying to run strut tower braces will be happy about that. The height adjustment happens through spacers that are provided for you. They're aluminum spacers, two of them, either the quarter-inch or the half-inch, so that's how these are going to work. Since we're talking about materials here, the mounts themselves are made from quarter-inch steel plates and the poly bushings. Then, you have your CNC machine-built aluminum spacers that are anodized black. One last thing that I wanted to mention here is that these mounts are lighter than the factory mounts. You're looking at less than 4 pounds per mount, 3.8 to be exact, compared to an 8-pound factory motor mount. As far as price, you can expect to spend just south of the $150 mark. This is right in line with prices for other motor mount kits, some of which aren't even adjustable. So I can't really complain here about the price. When it comes to the install, you're looking at a two out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter and a few hours as far as time. A helping hand would be nice here, and you'll need a few hand tools, and either a lift or a jack and jack stands. You're going to go right for the motor mounts to get them out of the way, one side at a time. You need the jack under the motor to lift the motor slightly, so you can get the weight off the mounts. Once the bolts are out of the motor mount, you'll need to remove the bolts that hold the mount to the K-member, so you can pull the stock mounts. The BMR motor mounts can attach to the K-member, and you assemble the mount depending on how you want it adjusted. You need a torque wrench to torque the mounts down to spec, and then you can lower the motor down and put it back into place. Wrapping things up here with the BMR Adjustable Motor Mount Kit, these mounts have polyurethane bushings that are going to stop engine deflection and movement.
