Review & Install Video
What's going on, guys? Adam here with AmericanMuscle.com and today I'm bringing you a quick overview of the Putco Chrome Window Trim option, fitting all 2015 and up F-150s. If you're the owner of a 2015 or newer F-150, this is an extremely easy way to replace the factory boring window trim with an attractive chrome option, like this one from Putco, giving your truck some added styling.
Most people don't think of window trim when they think of exterior styling. This is an extremely easy way to give some added detail and styling to your F-150, giving it a custom aftermarket appearance. So, this chrome window trim option from Putco is manufactured right here in the U.S. out of an ABS plastic backed with, as you can see here, a 3M industrial-quality automotive tape, making it a simple and secure install. They have a polished chrome finish, giving it an extra shine while making it corrosion-resistant as well. Putco even backs this product with a lifetime warranty, giving you peace of mind in case any outside elements were to take a toll on it. Or, if there were any defects in the worksmanship, they'd be right there to replace it.
At the time of this video, there really isn't a lot of exterior window trim on the market at the moment, so we don't have a price range to compare this to. This particular option comes in at just about $100, which is a pretty reasonable price, although I would've like to seen this in the stainless steel option rather than an ABS plastic. Now with that said, you are paying for an exterior styling piece. And with the chrome option from Putco, that is exactly what you're getting.
Now, the installation for this, as I mentioned before, is made extremely simple, thanks to the pre-applied 3M tape on the back of each trim. Now, what you're gonna want to do is use the supplied alcohol wipes in the kit to wipe down the complete area that you're applying this to, freeing it of all dirt and dust, to make sure that the 3M tape gets a really good and secure bond with the factory trim. Peel back the 3M tape on the back of each strip and apply it to the factory trim. You'll start from one end, working your way to the other, putting pressure all along the strip to make sure that the 3M tape gets a really good bond with the factory trim. Once you're done you'll move on to the next piece, and do it for all four pieces, and you'll be good to go.
Start to finish, you should expect to spend about a half an hour getting these installed. And I would definitely give it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter because it's such a simple install you can do in your driveway with no tools required. Just to quickly wrap things up guys, if you're the owner of a 2015 or newer F-150 and you're looking for an extremely easy way to give your exterior some added customization without breaking the bank, check out these Putco Chrome Window Trim options right here at AmericanMuscle.com.
