    • Increases Rear Wheel Horsepower and Torque
    • Free Flowing 3" Diameter Mandrel-Bent Tubing
    • Steps Down from 3" to 2.25"
    • 16 Guage 409 Stainless Steel Construction
    • Intended For Off-Road, Track Use Only
    • Fits 2015-2018 EcoBoost Mustangs with 2.25" Cat-Back Exhaust
More Horsepower And Torque. Release all the hidden horse power and torque your Turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost Mustang has to offer by replacing the restrictive stock catted down pipe with a larger diameter Pypes 3" Off-Road Down Pipe to improve exhaust flow and engine performance. Independent Dyno testing have seen gains of up to 20 horse power and 28 foot pounds of torque before tuning.

More Aggressive Sound. A Pypes Off-road Down Pipe not only helps increase the power and performance of your S550 EcoBoost Mustang, but it also adds a much more aggressive note to the sound of your exhaust, when compared to the stock catted down pipe.

High Quality Construction. Manufactured from free-flowing mandrel bent 16 gauge 409 stainless steel tubing for superior strength and corrosion resistance, this Pypes off-road down pipe steps down from a 3" diameter to a 2.5" diameter.

Required Upgrade. For proper operation and maximum power potential this Down Pipe will require reprogramming the vehicles computer. AmericanMuscle recommends a Bama custom tune with a Mustang Handheld Tuner to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) for proper operation.

Application. This Pypes 3" to 2.25" Off-Road Down Pipe is specifically designed to fit the 2015-2018 EcoBoost Mustang with the factory exhaust or an aftermarket 2.25" catback system installed.

Technical notes. Not legal for use on pollution controlled motor vehicles; intended for off road use only.

Great product for the price. Sound is a little tinny but coupled with a cold air up front sounds way better than stock!

Will this fit the MBRP race catback ?

    mustang1995

    • This will be able to fit with the MBRP Race cat-back as the down-pipe and cat-back exhaust will have piping sizes of 3".

I did not do any research when I first bought my car and put an axle back exhaust on it. Now, I want to make it faster. Will I need to replace my exhaust with a cat back system to unleash the full potential of his downpipe? What are your recommendations?

    BradM

    • The Pypes Downpipe along with other downpipes with larger diameter tubing will allow the vehicle to operate at a higher boost level, however, the stock catback exhaust will cause some restrictions. We would highly recommend a turbo-back exhaust (downpipe + catback) for the best results.

This requires a tune, what would be the best for performance between a standard 93 octane tune, unleashed tune, or a custom dyno tune in your opinion?

    CameronS

    • Hello! If you are looking for the best option for optimizing your vehicle, then you will want to do a custom tune on either a dyno or datalogging on the road.

Is this downpipe compatible with the flowmaster outlaw series axle-back exhaust system I currently have installed on my ecoboost? Or will I have to buy some sort of adapter?

    BradM

    • You will not need to purchase an adapter as the downpipe will come with a step-down to mate up to the factory mid-pipe. This will also mean that it will work with your Flowmaster Outlaw Series axle-back exhaust.

Is it normal for the car not to produce much boost without a tune after installation?

    Ryan

    • Without a tune, vehicles can be limited to boost or they may also over boost depending on the exact application and down-pipe. We would highly recommend having the vehicle tuned for proper functionality.

      dude..

Okay so for my ecoboost, first off, this downpipe really opens the airway if you're looking to mod. DO NOT look past a downpipe. Trust me! a lot of unlocked hp when you're full bolt on. Second, OH MY GOD IS THIS THING RIDICULOUSLY LOUD. the only thing that will upset you by buying this is your ruined relationship with your neighbors haha.

      Great Purchase

Great bang for your buck, sounds great! Bit raspy at red line area however legit sounds like a diesel at low rpm and sounds incredible anywhere between that near redline. Very loud with my mbrp street catback. Easy install, recommend a tuner to turn off the check engine light from the nonexisting Catalytic Converter

      Sounds good

After installing the sound is deeper and louder. I had to remove a bracket. That held the original pipe. The new one had a bracket that did not fit right. I made it work with on e bolt instead of two.

      loud

This downpipe is a great way to open up your exhaust but, if you have a cat back (I have flowmaster outlaw series ) its going to be loud. Someone asked me if I had a diesel engine because there is constant turbo whistle out the exhaust. I am running a Cobb tune and have a fully bolted on car except for the intercooler. The lower gears have more torque but the upper gears have less. The turbo takes a split second to spool now because there is no more back pressure. But when you are at full boost (23lbs for me) the sound and the feel is great

      Bracket broke

Product is sort of hard to fit, it's doable but it's not perfect. The main bracket is not positioned correctly and actually broke off leaving a giant hole in my downpipe. My exhaust shop had to patch it up, this downpipe needs some work done to it but for the price I guess it's worth it. If you get a weird exhaust tone out of nowhere check to see if the bracket broke off.
