Ask a Question

Can I reuse my aftermarket SR camber plates with these or do I require a different camber kit?

  • The SR Performance Adjustable Caster Camber plates are able to be used with the QA1 Single Adjustable Front Coil-Over Conversion. They mount on top of the strut tower and mount the same as a standard strut assembly with the Caster Camber Plate.

Can tou keep stock height??? Can the stock height be kept for tire clearance. I don't want to lower the front.

  • The answer above said it starts at 1" lower and goes down? I need to keep stock ride height. I have a set of QA 1 struts I got with 250 lb springs 12" length OK was told to get 14" springs. I did that did nothing at all. I think I need a longer strut. That the question here are these stock or for lowering?

How low will these coil overs go ? I want my Mach 1 lip on the ground , will these do it ?

  • The QA1 Single Adjustable Front Coil-Over Conversion will allow up to a 2" drop in ride height. Depending on the overall wheel and tire diameter, it would be difficult to say if this would work for your application. I would recommend measuring from the chin spoiler to the road at stock ride height for the best results.

Will these work on my convertible?

  • 99-04 Front suspension systems were about the same. The coil over kit will replace the factory coil spring! Also if you do coil over sway it might be wise to look into tubular lower control arms

How low will the vehicle drop???

  • According to your application, V6 or V8, the shocks will adjust to varying heights. I have not used these shocks, but according to the QA1 motorsports sites, all of their shocks are adjustable to 18 different settings. Many of their shocks are used in round track racing applications. Since these are designed for street applications, your ride height will not be as radical as for racing. I am guessing, but believe you could adjust from 1" to 3", again according to the application. Be sure to check about what other things that might be needed to use these. Many people replace the A arm with tubular, plus you will probably need Camber plates to help in aligning the front end. Hope that helps!

Do you remove your factory springs? The description says "Upgrade your Mustangs old stock factory struts and springs to a QA1 Adjustable Front Coil-Over to greatly improve your handling performance." This implies that the springs are no longer needed, is this correct?

  • When you install a set of coil overs you will need to remove the factory springs.

Dreadful and waste of time and money.

Slight performance gain over stock suspension but the noise ruins everything. Makes your car sound like a hoopty. Need to modify so much to get some of the sound away rubbing and screeching.

    Very noisy

Not really good for street use. Very loud and very rough ride. Does a bit better at the track, but honestly not worth all the money.
