Hey, guys. It's Joe from AmericanTrucks and today we're gonna be taking a closer look at the Raxiom Horizon LED Taillights in Smoked fitting all '15 and newer F150s without blind spot monitoring. Now this is gonna be a great option for you if you're a little bit bored of the looks of the rear of your F150 and you're looking for a premier taillight to change things up a little bit.So what do we have going on here with the Raxiom Horizons? Well, first off, let's dive into build quality a little bit and these are made out of ABS plastic just like the factory stuff. We have a very, very lightly smoked lens over the top of a blacked out housing which is going to be the best of both worlds. You get that blackout look and at the same time that lightly smoked lens is going to contribute to that but it's going to allow a lot of light from the LEDs to shine through which is exactly what you want when it comes to a brake light.Speaking about the lights, these are all LEDs. The conversion is handled completely on board which makes these taillights completely plug and play. No wiring knowledge necessary for the install. We're gonna show you how that's done in just a second here. These squares on the back of our light, they're gonna make up our running lights as well as our brake lights. They're gonna be on when you turn the truck on but when you step on the brakes they're gonna be a little bit brighter. Inside of those squares there are two infinity mirrors which give you a nice, little, cool effect. Almost like looking in the two back to back mirrors. In between the two we have our LED, a reverse light. That's a very, very bright white. It's surrounded by a red reflector as well just for a little bit of safety. Now one thing I really like about the Horizons is the side profile. These strakes [SP] down the side actually light up with the running lights and that provides a really cool accent on the side of your F150. So all in all, a nice package from Raxiom. Really modern look with these. You get that blackout look. If that's what you're going for on your truck these are gonna be a perfect match for you. That lightly smoked lens contributes to that but again that's gonna allow a lot of light to go through. The car behind you is definitely gonna notice when you step on the brake lights which is exactly again what you want out of a brake light. Now if the blackout look isn't for you though, Raxiom also manufacturers these with a clear lens and a red housing behind it if the factory look is more your style. No matter which one you buy though these are gonna be DOT compliant so no matter what state you live in your truck is always going to pass inspection.Next up we're gonna take a closer look at pricing and for the pair here we're looking at around 600 bucks. Now that is gonna be a little bit more on the expensive side but then again these are a huge upgrade over basically a factory taillight housing. You get those LEDs. They're really easy to install. The build quality is there. If you're fond of the looks these are gonna be a great buy at 600 bucks. They can really change up the look of the rear of your F150. That is for sure.Next we're gonna show you how to get these installed. Definitely a really easy one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. Again these are completely plug and play. You're only gonna need a ratchet and a socket to get the factory stuff off your truck. I think at most this will take you 15 minutes to half an hour to do in the driveway with nothing but some basic hand tools. So without any further ado, let me show you what tools you'll need and how it's done. The only tools you'll need to bring with you for this install is either an impact or ratchet as well as an 8 millimeter socket. Well, like I said earlier, this install is gonna be really, really easy. Just about one of the easiest things you can do on your F150. We're gonna start by grabbing the impact or ratchet, the 8 millimeter socket. We're just gonna loosen up these two bolts that hold our taillight to the truck. So with those bolts removed you can grab the taillight and that should fall right off of the truck. You could see a little bit better how this works. These tabs at the back here basically clip onto the truck. These are the bolt holes at the front. These are our taillights with the reverse light on the bottom. All we're gonna do to release those is push down on the tab and they should pop off just like so. Then we can pull the taillight off the truck. So the install of our new taillight is pretty much just gonna be the reverse. Grab the right side. This green plug on the truck is gonna go to the gray plug on our taillight and they're just gonna click together. And this brown one up here is gonna go to brown obviously. And they click together. Then we're just gonna push that back into the truck. Line up those alignment dowels at the back. And once everything is lined up, you just give that a firm push. That will lock that onto the truck. Now we can reinstall those 8 millimeter bolts and give this a test to see if everything works. One thing to mention about these is they're only threading in the plastic so if you're gonna use the impact like I am just be gentle or even better, use some hand tools, a ratchet and a socket for this.So at this point we have our new Horizon taillight completely wrapped up for the driver side. While we still have the factory stuff on the passenger side I figure now would be the perfect time to stop down and point out some of the key differences between these two. We're gonna start over on the passenger side with the factory stuff which is frankly a little bit bland for what otherwise is a brand new truck. We have that standard reflector housing with the red lens over top, you get a little bit of a white accent line on that taillight over there but that's not enough to save it from just looking a little bit dated with those standard halogen bulbs underneath.Over on this side though we do have some brand new modern touches in the Horizon taillights that make this a great upgrade. Now we have that very lightly smoked lens going on first with the black housing underneath. That gives you that really nice blackout look but that's not the only thing we're changing around. We're ditching those old school halogen bulbs in exchange for some LEDs. Not just for the brake and running lights but over on the side here, these strakes actually do light up which make for a nice side marker light. Definitely a nice touch, right. But let's get down to brass tacks here. What is gonna be making up our brake light? Well, these two squares are gonna serve as both the brake light and the running light. So they'll come on when your running lights are on and they'll get brighter when you step on the brakes. Definitely a huge upgrade. Gonna get you noticed which is exactly what you want out of a brake light. You wanna make sure the car behind you sees when you step on the brake pedal. Now they do give you a little bit of a cool effect as well. In those squares you're gonna get a little bit of an infinity mirror look which you either like it or you don't but basically the idea here is for the car behind to see you like I said earlier and this definitely gets the job done. Other than that, we're also relocating our brake light from the bottom right here in the middle. It's surrounded by a red reflector so you do get that safety feature as well. And obviously that's no longer a standard bulb. We're upgrading that to an LED as well. That's gonna pretty much sum up the differences between these two. If you're looking for a great modern upgrade, this is gonna be a perfect option for you. So let's get the other side wrapped up and we'll call it a day.Now we're gonna do the same thing for the other side. We're gonna start by removing our 8 millimeter hardware. Then we can pull out the taillight housing and release the harnesses and swap in our new taillight. Then we can align this, push it into place and secure it with the bolts.Guys, that's gonna do it for me. It's also gonna do it for the Raxiom Horizon LED Taillights, Smoked, fitting all '15 and newer F150s without blind spot monitoring. Thank you guys for watching. Subscribe for more like this one.
