    Review & Install Video

Hey I’m Justin with, and I’m checking out some modern LED lighting from Raxiom for all 2010 and newer Mustangs. Raxiom is without a doubt the industry leader in producing cool and stylish lighting specifically for your late model Mustang. Interior or exterior, retro or modern, Raxiom has something for your ride. The LED lighting I’m checking out here are the license plate LEDs, front/rear side markets, reverse light conversion kit, and finally the switchback turn signal conversion kit. So what are some of the benefits of going with LED lighting, well for one, they look much better, these LEDs shine bright white with a small touch of blue as opposed to the dim, yellowish look of incandescent bulbs. Not only will this bright light look good and help your appearance, but it’s also going to help your safety by increasing your visibility. Finally, LED lighting lasts much longer than your standard automotive bulbs, and it also uses less power. The majority of LED lighting acts like a standard bulb meaning it’s either on or it’s off, with the exception of these switchbacks. These lights turn from bright white to amber then back again, thanks to the included resistors. Just a cool little feature that adds a little more styling to the front of your ride. With the exception of the switchbacks, all these LED bulbs install easily in about 15 minutes per set with no modification needed, simply unplug the factory bulb and plug the Raxiom bulb in its place. As for the switchbacks you will need to splice in the included resistors, which will stretch the install time slightly to about 30 minutes. So if you’re looking to add the unique glow of modern LED lighting to your ride, then check out these different lighting options available from Raxiom, right here at

Improves Lighting And Appearance. Improve the appearance and lighting of your Mustangs exterior by installing a License Plate LED Conversion Kit. This conversion kit replaces those weak incandescent stock bulbs with super bright white LED's, to light the dark.

Power Saving 5050 SMD Technology. The bulbs included in this LED Conversion Kit utilize 3-chip 5050 SMD technology to produce super bright light while only consuming 1/10th of the power of the stock incandescent bulb. These LED bulbs are rated at 100,000 hours of continuous use.

Application. This License Plate Light LED Conversion Kit is specifically designed for use on the 2010 to 2014 Ford Mustangs, including the V6, GT, BOSS, and Shelby GT500 models. This kit replaces 6418, 6411, 6423, 6413, and 6461 series bulbs.

      Not for speeders

If you want to turn heads because of the "look" of your mustang, as opposed to the maniac who cuts everybody off 5 minutes after punching out - buy these lights. Ford might-as-well not put in a light bulb because the dismal stock bulbs (color-unknown) are more than embarrassing in comparison to these Raxiom bulbs. With these lights you actually get that bright white (almost like a twinkly diamond) shining down and it looks incredible. They shine bright white not only on the license plate but also along the rear fender. Yes, I've installed them properly. A monkey could install and it's a must-have item. It completes the rear end of the vehicle and dramatically enhances the appearance. -The Dude

Should've come stock on the 2013, but for $30, not a bad investment/add-on. Unlike the reverse lights at $60, these were great for the purpose and look. Highly recommend these at a minimum, not too sure about the side markers with the issues mentioned in reviews. Thinking about the reverse lights down the road for greater visability when backing.

      Raxiom License Plate LED light

I got tired of looking at the bright white LED license plate lights on my girlfriend's 2006 Lexus knowing that my 2011 Mustang had old yellow filament based bulbs. I read numerous reviews online about other brands of lights and heard about them burning out in a short amount of time. I saw that AM had a 2 year warranty on the Raxiom LEDs and decided to give them a try. It is a night and day difference and it gives a car a more modern look, along with better illumination of the license plate. The installation takes less than 30 seconds and it is one of the easiest mods you can do to your car.

      Great purchase!

I installed these yesterday and didn't encounter any problems. The only thing I can say is after I replaced the original factory lights with the raxiom ones, I needed to insert the screws back in and screw them in before they would begin working. I was pleased with the installation time. On a side note, I used the very end of a clothes hangar, slightly bent the end with a pry tool so it made a hook like shape, then put the hook into the screw hole and gently pulled the plastic out so I could replace the bulbs. I tried using the screw driver itself but it was relatively difficult. I found my method to be much more efficient without damaging anything.

      Absolutely Loved These Untill...

Well, I've had these for probably 6-7 months and loved them! So many compliments! I even got my friends hooked on picking up a pair for themselves. AM & Raxiom do a fantastic job! However, when I let my buddy have a test ride on my stang, I noticed something. One of the lights was flickering and then cut completely off. This was a major bummer because I know LED's are superior over traditional bulbs in every single way possible. I didn't expect them to have a malfunction this early!! Course, when I get in my car the same night they are back to working fine again. Guess she didn't like my friend. Hahaha! I just hope they don't cut out again. Last thing I need is to get pulled over.. Would I recommend them? Absolutely. Just keep an eye on them after a half year use. If they start to flicker like mine, maybe you got a bad batch. Not sure If I should get a new pair. We'll see how it goes if they continue to function properly.

      LED fell off

These lights are great, much brighter than the stock ones and have a cool blue tint to them, however today i noticed only one was working. so i pulled the led and saw that one of the 3 led lights had fell off. Ive had these lights about 2 months and probably only put 200 miles on my car in that time frame. hopefully the warranty will cover it and i can get a replacement.

Raxiom License Plate LED - Shelby GT500

Had to wait a couple of weeks because of these LED being out of stock, these are very popular and they match up with the Raxiom Reverse LED lights. I highly recommend these. Yes these are way brighter than the stock. Had many folks say these license plate lights along with the Raxiom Reverse lights make a great combination especially since the tail lights are LED to begin with. Ford should have had these as a standard light to begin with.

These look fantastic. Unfortunately after a couple of months they started to flicker due to the circuit board not being supported. AM sent a replacement pair, thanks. However these only lasted another few months. Horrible expensive for an item that only lasted 5 or 6 thousand miles of driving on my Shelby. Had to go back to stock.

      strobe lights

Mustangs are not meant to have LED lights the voltage is to high and the lights do not have resistora built in. Got a pair and the left one stared to blink all the time. American Muscle was great and sent me a new one, once I got I installed and the right started blinking. They just don't work!

      Great look but didn't last

Very happy with appearance of the lights over stock, But I don’t use my car very much so don't have many hours of use on it and they both burnt out with in short succession. Not sure if I will replace them if they only last this long.

      Flickering lights

I received these lights as a gift and installed them and they were great. After awhile I noticed when the lights came on when I unlocked the car the lights would flicker. At times one or the other would stay on and the other would flicker. Now one doesn't come on. I took them out and made sure they were seated properly and they were. Love the look if they worked.... Going back to stock or another brand.

      Small Change, Big Difference

So easy to install and the white light that these bulbs produce are just another touch from Raxiom that makes the car look new. Love the look and I hooked my brother and friends on these lights.

Looks nice, don't seem to last very long...

My wife bought these for me as part of a birthday gift in Oct 2014. Mid December 2014 I noticed that the left bulb started flickering and just thought when I had time I would pop it out and check and make sure the bulb was seated correctly. I don't drive the car much at night, so I wasn't in a big hurry. However, this morning (still dark) while warming up the car I noticed that the left bulb was completely out and now the right bulb is flickering. I see that there are a couple of other reviews explaining the same issue. I'll see about trading these in under the Raxiom warranty...if I get the same issue I'll just go back to the stock lighting.

Looks great but not best quality

These look amazing but after several months I have now have one that has gone out, and they are pretty pricey you can find the exact same thing for much less on the different site. im sure the quality is the same regardless.

Sorry to hear that one has gone out. These are high quality LEDs and it should have lasted a very long time as you are aware - your kit must have had a defective bulb unfortunately. We can get a replacement shipped out for you, just give our customer service a call so they can have that set up for you right away.

      Looked great….for awhile

I bought these wanting to brighten up the rear end at night and the blueish white light looked amazing against my white car. However after a week of having these in, the left light started to flicker, and two weeks after that the right side started. These bulbs are bit expensive to have to be replacing every few weeks. Reading some of the other reviews and asking other mustang enthusiasts around my area this seems to be a common problem. Needless to say I removed the bulbs and put the factory ones back in. I don't plan on buying any replacements.

      wow, what a bright idea!

Easy install and instant gratification. One of the stock lights went intermittent shortly after buying my 2011 V6 MCA pony. After I got my personalized plate of V6 PONY I had to buy the led lights so the GT'S I spank know how bad it was. Definitely recommend.

      True color accent lighting

The OEM supplied tag lights on my 2013 Boss 302 are incandescent (tungsten element) and project an orange tint to the license plate. These direct plug-in replacements give off a bright white light that show off its true colors. The LEDs are mounted on a small flat circuit board slightly narrower than the glass lens of the original bulb. Make sure you install the bulb with the LEDs facing the lens cover! I didn't supply a before/after photo because that supplied by American Muscle is a true representation. Cannot comment on longevity as these have only been on my car for about 2 weeks.
