Truck Now has Proper Stance
I don't haul a heavy trailer, so I don't need the rear to sit higher than the front. I hated the look of the truck from the factory, it simply sits too low at the front, maybe even lower than my wife Traverse.
These strut extensions added a couple of inches to the front, making the truck sit level with the front about the same height as the rear. I plan to run the OEM tires and wheels until the tires wear out, then I will consider my options with bigger wheels and tires, until then, this kit is perfect. Even then, I'll try the larger tires/rims on the truck before deciding whether to lift it any more.
One thing I struggled with was that I had trouble finding an install time "flat rate" that I could use with a shop for a pre-work, not to exceed estimate. Various install times were reported in the reviews, with the lowest being 2 hours. As it was, I used the estimate attached to the PDF directions on the Rough Country website, 3 hours, and gave a printed copy to the shop when I dropped off the truck. My regular and trusted shop agreed to the 3 hour time, due to our long standing relationship. They said it took longer, and that the directions were less than good, nevertheless, it cost me 3 hours labor an alignment. My guys did say they could do it in close to the estimated time now that they had been through it. Maybe a dedicated 4 Wheeler shop who do this regularly would charge less, I don't know.
The truck now looks proper, drive quality was not affected, and this mod met my expectations exactly for fit and final look. Four stars due to higher install cost than expected.
