I'm only interested in the down force created by this wing. I road race my 2002 GT and want additional rear down force. Should this be a question for Roush or do you have the specs. Thanks

  • This has not been tested for the downforce rating and will recommend contacting Roush.

Is this a solid piece or hollow? The factory spoiler was hollow so the clear coat is all nasty from the expanding and contracting.

  • Hello! The design of this spoiler is not entirely solid, but it is made out of an entirely different material, your clear coat on this will not have issues quite like your factory spoiler did,

I have a 02 GT and a 99 Cobra, both convertibles. The bolt holes on the GT are inboard by about 7-9" and on the Cobra they are all the way on the outside edges of the trunk. Will this spoiler line up with the factory holes on the Cobra? I also have seen some customer pictures with the center posts removed from the spoiler, are they easily removable, or was this something they had to cut off?

  • Hello! The Roush Stage 3 Rear Wing does not line up with the factory cobra holes. The 2 inner mounting points are easily removable

I have a 2000 V6 will it fit in the factory holes like the 99 GT or will drilling be needed

  • The Roush Stage 3 Rear Wing - Unpainted (99-04 All) will not be a direct fit as more holes will need to be drilled to install.

    Good fit for my car

This wing is just what my car needed to put it at another level appearance wise. Good fit and easy to install. Had to trip and prep but no big deal if you have the tools and know what you are doing.

    Perfect.....when finished and painted

First off let me just say...this wing stands out and looks amazing on new edge mustangs...adds so much to the look..everyone gets 03 04 cobra rear this will make you stand apart for sure...having said that...either know how to prep or find a good body will take lots..lots of sanding..and prep work...american muscle should really sale a pre prep one..its not there fault..but the mold comes out kind of sloppy...again..not American muscles fault...just know when buying...also have 350 bucks set aside for prep and paint...but when

    Good looking wing !

The wing fits nicely, plan to do some sanding and prep work on mainly the mold seams on the secondary supports if you decide to use them .The instructions from Roush refer to "see photo" , but there aren't any, neither are there any on their website in those instructions.Still, it's easy to figure out what to do, I just found it odd to refer to a non existent photo ( twice) in the instructions... That said it looks great and wasn't hard to do, measure twice ,use a center punch and drill carefully, piece of cake.

Looks Great After A Lot Of Work

The product description literally says "There is no time-consuming trimming or sanding required". Well, I had to do a ton of that. It is high quality material, and looks great, but that is because I trimmed all the excess plastic from the seams where it was molded, and primed, and sanded, and primed, and sanded, and so on in order to smooth out all of the wrinkles in the material. If the description was accurate, this would be a good price. But after the days of work I had to put in to get it to match its description, I kinda feel ripped off. I love how it looks, and though I didn't use them, I love that it includes dummy supports to cover the factory holes, if you don't want to fill them in and repaint your trunk. I filled the holes, and repainted because this thing looks WAY better without the extra supports.

If you have the rest of the roush stuff this spoiler will look great if you don't then it'll look out of place. Perfect replacement for my spoiler that was damaged on my rs2.

The rear wing was a perfect fit and looks great. Had to drill some hole in the deck lid, but that is excepted.

My original wing was so sun damaged that it blisterd after being repainted. Ordered this up on a Friday afternoon and had it Monday morning. Gave it to my body guy to paint and no problems. Fit just as the original Roush wing. Now my stage 1 is back to showroom quality. Highly recommend either for replacement on your Roush or up grade on any mustang.

Great wing, looks awesome, plants her down!

This spoiler is lightweight & creates downforce to put the power to the ground & looks awesome on my 2003 Cobra. It fits so well it appears to have come on the vehicle stock. I spent the extra money and time to have it finished right, took it to a body shop to have the rough edges smoothed out and painted to match the car, cost me an additional $150(including the mounting) it was well worth it. Gotten many compliments on the looks, but more importantly, vehicle would want to drift at speeds approaching 150, especially if there was some wind present, not now, glued to tarmac, Love it and highly recommend if you have a performance vehicle that you want downforce to put the power down.... did I mention it looks great too!

    Fit is awesome

Prep work was a snap did it myself at brother in laws body shop. The shop people were inpressed with the product right out of the package. Prep work required shaving the joint where top and bottom molds met. Sanding was done by hand in a couple of hours. I had the painter bake, seal and paint it in the booth, have to admit it looked a lot nicer than I could with paint cans or a spray gun. This is the second Roush product I have purchased. The first being the design bar. Both have been excellent and easy install

    Roush Stage 3 Wing

Keeping in mind that these come out of injected molds, this is a very clean product. Trimming the flash from where the two halves of mold meet is simple, just don't undercut into the curves. If you are using regular paint, I suggest you go ahead and check surface for any small/noticeable blemishes and fill with filler, then spray a couple coats of primer, and proceed. I used PlastiDip... 4-5 coats of glossified Monster Green looked pretty mean. Also make sure you make a template when you get the struts affixed to the bottom of your wing... It'll make drilling the holes SO much easier. I just eyed them plumb, epoxied them to the wing, then made a tag-board template and drilled holes in my trunk lid. Installation after that is easy, drop in, bolt in, and you're off! I recommend this product if you want to make your ride unique to your liking.

    Awesome spoiler

After installing 6 different spoiler on my 2002 Mustang Gt I ordered this spoiler from American Muscle. It arrived quickly and there was very little prep work and sanding needed before paint. We decided to cover the stock mounting holes and move the spoiler back the the rear of the trunk lid, and can I say this thing makes my Gt look totally awesome. This in my opinion should be the first one purchased and you want even think about any other. Easy fitment, prep.. Thanks Ricky
