Hey guys, I'm Justin with americantrucks.com, and this is gonna be my detailed review and install of the Roush Performance Three-Inch Single Rear Exit Cat-Back Exhaust System, available for your 2011 through 2014 five liter powered F-150. So, the Roush Cat-Back that we have in this video should appeal to five-liter truck owners out there who wanna be heard. Using a quality system like this from Roush, you enjoy the look of that unique single exit configuration. And last but not least, would like to keep things rather affordable compared to some of your other options here on the site. And speaking of price, the Roush system will land you in the mid $600 price point, making it a middle of the road system in regards to overall investment, and will get a strong one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter from me, as there might be a little cutting needed depending upon your cab and bed size. But we will talk about that a little bit more later on.Now, Roush is certainly synonymous with Ford and F-150 Performance and the reputation within the community makes them the preferred choice for many owners out there just simply based off of name alone. Another reputation the company has going for it at least with their exhaust systems is that they are going to be loud. And that certainly is the case here with the '11 to '14 Cat-Back. Breaking out my wake the neighbor scale, I have the Roush Cat-Back coming in at a rather healthy four out of five on my one to five, or one to wake the neighbor scale. Guys, if you're looking for volume, you're getting plenty of it here with the Roush Cat-Back. Now, in addition to that tone, you're also getting some crackles and some extra noises coming down off the revs, things I personally really enjoy about this system, and hopefully you guys heard it with our sound clips. Inside the truck, well, you are gonna hear this thing a little bit, but less than you would with their single side exit system, but I wouldn't categorize it as droney by any means. Let's talk a little bit more about how the Roush gets its aggressive tone and honestly, you got a couple things working for you here. The lead pipe that is included with the kit that I couldn't fit on my table does take the place of your factory resonator and as such you can expect a little bit more volume there. Now, along with eliminating that factory resonator, you also are getting one of Roush's straight through by design mufflers which really doesn't do much in muffling anything as you can see. You're getting a very free flowing system and one that is gonna pack plenty of bark as we already talked about. And in fact guys, don't take my word for it, feel free to check out some of the customer reviews on the product page, they're giving this thing some pretty high praise. Now, as far as quality and construction, well, you're getting a very solid built here with the Roush Cat-Back. I know what we've come to expect from the company overall, 409 grade stainless steel throughout for the materials guys, yes, it's not that premium 304 grade stainless that you see with the more premium systems, but it's gonna be a hell of a lot better than that aluminized steel at reducing corrosion overall, especially in those snowier climates. And at the end of the day guys, Roush does back this system with their three year limited warranty. Piping is all three-inch Mandrel Bend as you can see here guys, leading into and out of the straight through by design Roush muffler, before exiting out the polished wide pipe tips, as Roush calls them, in the rear of the truck on the passenger side. Now, this is a very unique configuration and, in fact, at the time of this video, it's the only exhaust that's gonna dump in this configuration or in this location. Now, if you're not really digging this look, Roush does offer a nearly identical system to this that will dump in the factory location behind the passenger side rear tire, and that is available here on the site as well. Switching gears, let's talk about the install a little bit more and as I mentioned at the very top of this video, depending on your wheel base or basically your cab and bed length, there might be the smallest amount of cutting needed to get this system in place. That being said, I'm still sticking to my strong one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, maybe an hour or two from start to finish before you're making some loud noises. As far as tools, well, guys, you're just basically looking at a socket set here in addition to that cutting tool, and I always like to recommend having some PB Blast or WD40 on hand, not only to help you with some rusty bolts, but also to give you a little bit more help with those rubber exhaust hangers, as it can be a little tricky from time to time. Your first obvious step is to remove that factory exhaust system, so go ahead and loosen up that forward-most clamp. Slide the exhaust off the hangers and drop it to the ground. Just be careful, it is all one piece. It can be a little big and bulky to move around by yourself. Once you get the factory stuff out of the way, you can get to work installing your new Roush system. First and foremost, check those detailed instructions out first, determine if and where you need to cut. Before you get to work installing the actual system, I recommend making your cut outside of the truck on a table vise, something like that, using a sawzall with a fresh metal blade or a chop saw, whatever you have laying around the shop should get the job done. Once the cut has been made, go ahead and get to work hanging the new Roush system from front to back, of course, but save your final tighten up to the very end, this way you can kind of situate all of your piping, make sure there's no rubbing, get the tips where you want them in place and then hammer down with your socket set, impact gun or whatever you have and your installation is complete.Wrapping things up, the Roush systems continue to be a top choice with many F-150 owners on the site thanks to the loud tone, solid build quality and unique appearance, all for a very affordable price.     Great sound

    Easy to install on my 2011 F150 regular cab. Took about 2hrs to remove the old and add the new muffler. The Roush gives you enough guttural sound to turn a head or two but not too loud that it wakes the neighbors.

    this kit was WAY louder than i expected it to be, based off of videos i had seen i was ecpecting a nice growl but when i put it on and lsitended to it for the first time in person, it screams, has a nice deep gorwl at idle and the entire RPM range. i was originally going to put headers on after this install but after listening to it im not sure it needs headers. VERY satisfied.

    Wow! Amazing sound Roush never disappoints

    Product looks amazing when you open the box, but let me tell you if you have a Limited edition like myself or Harley edition you will need to make some custom work to make it fit. I had to cut the original flange and cut the pipe to the exact size and have it welded. Other than that truck sounds amazing! You can hear that growl of the 6.2L. I recommend it!

    Follow the instructions in the box and it will be a piece of cake. It took me and 1 other person 2 hours start to finish. 1 simple cut and tighten up the clamps! Very nice sounding exhaust, exactly what I was looking for!

    Roush catback

    Sounds really good on initial startup and quality of product seems really good. Product was well packaged from Roush. Nice aggressive tone as wanted and expected. Some drone in cab at highway cruising speed but not horrible. That's to be expected from an aggressive exhaust. If I go catless I'll most likely have to weld in a resonator to help with drone and to keep it from being stupid obnoxious and raspy.
