Flexible and Effective Intake Design. Born from the high octane action of racing parts, and featuring precision modern engineering and construction, the Roush Cold Air Intake frees your truck of 25% of the intake restriction imposed by the stock CAI. Induction noise is boosted to give your 3.5L V6 engine a commandingly aggressive performance sound that will let everyone nearby know which truck is the boss of the road. The intensively engineered design – which is 50-state legal – wins +11.8 horsepower and +12.1 ft-lbs of torque to add to your pickup’s oomph for acceleration, towing, or powering through tough off-road conditions.

Tune Required for Some Options. You can use the factory calibration for the Roush Cold Air Intake by installing the supplied insert and reusing the 85mm bore stock MAF. If, however, you want to use the 105mm MAF that the housing is made to accept, then the ECU will need to be flashed with an appropriate aftermarket tune. This will enable the CAI to function at its full capacity in terms of horsepower, torque, throttle response, and fuel economy.

Reusable Wire-Strengthened Filter. The filter used in the Roush Cold Air Intake is made from red synthetic fabric, reinforced with a buttressing system of wire mesh that forms two internal layers, an inner and an outer. This helps increase the longevity of the filter. The filter element can be removed, washed, and reinstalled when it starts to get dirty, sparing you buying a new element. No re-oiling is needed (oil-free design).

High-Flow Engineering. The Roush Cold Air Intake is built from tough but light materials for a combination of practicality and endurance. Featuring a mostly black finish, the red filter and brightly polished stainless steel clamps provide some eye-catching contrast. The heat shield and air box is CAD designed for maximum hood sealing, keeping hot air away from the filter. The tube has sleek mandrel bends for high, unrestricted flow. Both parts are manufactured out of polyethylene plastic (injection-molded in the case of the air box).

Can Use 85mm or 105mm MAF (Your Pick). Roush’s Cold Air Intake offers a MAF housing with a difference – a choice between two different MAF bores depending on how much power you want. The housing, as-is, is designed to support a 105mm aftermarket MAF (not included). However, there’s also an insert that constricts the housing down to the 85mm diameter of the stock MAF so you can reuse it, losing a bit of power but avoiding the hassle of re-tuning your truck’s engine.

Very Fast and Intuitive Install. Supplied with high quality attachment hardware, the Roush Cold Air Intake can be fitted to your F-150’s engine in an hour or less. Attachment uses the mounting points used by the stock intake following its removal, so this component is a no-drill bolt-on upgrade to your truck.

Warranty for 90 Days. The Roush Cold Air Intake is covered by a 90-day limited manufacturer’s warranty against defects.

Ready for Use Anywhere – CARB Exempt. This variant of the Roush Cold Air Intake has the CARB EO Number D-418-30, making it street-legal for use in California. In order to pass inspection, the intake must have the included CARB compliance sticker attached either to it or to a nearby surface where it’s clearly visible. The component is 50-state legal and can be used on roads, streets, highways, off-road trails, or the track anywhere in the United States, making it useful for driving in both CARB and non-CARB areas.

Application. This Roush Performance Cold Air Intake Kit is specially designed to fit the 2015 to 2017 F-150s equipped with the 3.5L Naturally Aspirated (N/A) V6 engine.

Will changing over to the Roush intake effect the warranty?

SandyD

  • According to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty of your vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part was the cause of or contributed to the failure of the vehicle (15 U.S.C. 2302 (C)). This means that a vehicle's warranty cannot be "voided;" the dealer can only deny a claim if the stock part failed due to damage or unreasonable use. If you plan to install this Roush Cold Air Intake, we would still recommend reaching out to the dealership in which the vehicle was purchased, as they may have specified a particular component to void warranty.

For one I love this intake but it has caused a engine code stating that my crank case breather system is disconnected. Dealership is saying it's the intake. Any fixs for this? I know afe has the tube you put down in to restrict the air flow back into the crank to cure the issue with there. Does roush have the same thing?

    Great design

The 2015-17 f150 Roush CAI is a better design than than the previous model for the 2012-14 F150. This CAI comes with a complete air box and the air filter is a lot bigger. You will only see minor performance increase. Like most CAI for the F150s, it doesn't require a tune. If you want to get the most out of any CAI I recommend that you do get a tune.

Review from Roush Cold Air Intake (15-16 2.7L/3.5L EcoBoost)

Great Sound and Performance, fit and finish OK

This intake gives the truck a great sound and I would easily believe Roush's claim for hp and torque improvements. That said, the fit and finish did not meet my expectations, lots of plastic flashing and prevalent seam lines from manufacturing make the kit feel cheap and the air box does not fit tightly around the dirty air scoop/ram air inlet or the clean air tube so it ultimately will pull in a little hot air from the engine bay. Still the performance and sound outweigh those minor grievances

Fit and Finish is great. No way I gained any power

It fit like a factory part. So I'd give it a 5 for fit and finish. I felt no seat of the pants improvement and really no sound improvement either. I wish I'd have gone with the AFE stage2 unit.

    Surely Worth The Purchase

I would definitely recommend this CAI for anyone owning a 3.5 EB. Installation was fairly easy with no hiccups the way along. At startup you can obviously hear the difference when you push the accelerator with the hood open. In cab you can hear the air filtering more through the tubing and more turbo sound as well; pretty unique sound. With windows open you can hear the turbos clear as day. Do note that I have the Roush Cat-back exhaust which complements one another. You can feel the extra power at the wheels with a clean throttle response compared to stock; it's not HUGE but really noticeable.

    Good bang for your buck!

Very pleased with this purchase. Installation was extremely simple and only requires basic hand tools. As with most Roush products, instructions aren't included with the product but it gives you Roush's website with step by step instructions as well as with pictures. Goes great with my Roush Cat-back exhaust. Noticed a slight increase in sound and power between 3000-5000 rpm

Was pretty easy to install. I have the 5.0. It made a little bit more power and maybe a little more sound under the hood. I run muffler delete and It sounds a hair louder than it was before. I think the tuner would wake it up a little more.

Review from Roush Cold Air Intake (15-17 5.0L)

    Added performance

Adding the Roush intake to the existing Roush exhaust has made some more HP and gains on throttle response and overall performance. I'm impressed by the overall gains from the intake and I also like the look and style of it. It's the largest intake that I've seen in a vehicle, but it goes very well with the amount of open space in the new 2016 F-150's engine bay.
