    Review & Install Video

This is the Roush 7 Bar Upper Black Billet Grille and it fits the 2010 to 2012 GT. This grille eliminates the running pony and the GT fog lights. It's made from aluminum, so it's gonna be something that you're gonna wanna check out if you want a replacement grille that'll delete those fog lights, isn't made from plastic, requires no cutting to install, and you don't mind paying a little bit more for that Roush quality. The instructions do have you pulling the front fascia for the install, but it's still gonna be a simple install. It's a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and it'll take you about an hour to get done. This is a complete upper replacement grille, so it isn't an overlay. It's gonna completely replace your stock or your current grille. Styling wise, it's gonna delete those fog lights which is totally gonna give the GT a different look. This is a 7 bar billet grille, so you have those seven horizontal bars here and that's gonna open up some air flow if you compare it to your stock grille. This is made from billet aluminum, so it does have some weight to it. It's not a plastic piece which I knew that some of you will like. And being that this is made from billet aluminum means it'll have some corrosion resistance, but it's gonna be a positive to you guys out there that have daily drivers or cars that see a lot of road time. So this doesn't come with anything to place in the grille. But, as a side note, you guys can always add a running pony tri-bar emblem to the grille if you wanted to. Now, it is sold separately, so make sure you add it to your order through the drop down menu on the product page. This grille is made for the 2010 to '12 GT with the stock grille surround or bezel. It reuses that stock surround or replaces the grille itself. That being said, this will fit the 2010 to '12 V6 for the factory GT front fascia or a Roush front fascia. It will not fit the Boss 302 GT California style or Shelby GT 500 models. And this is the upper grille only. The matching Roush lower grille is sold separately. As far as price goes, you can expect to pay close to the $230 mark for this grille. That is a little bit more expensive than some of your other options out there, but you should keep in mind the fact that this isn't made from plastic. It's billet aluminum and it's not priced that much higher than your other fog light delete options. You're also paying for the Roush quality here. When it comes to the install, you can expect to spend an hour getting this on the car. It's gonna be one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You don't have to do any cutting to get this on the car and the instructions do tell you to pull the front fascia, but there are other ways to replace the grille without pulling the front fascia. I would recommend just following the instructions though and pulling the front fascia because it isn't difficult to do and you avoid taking the chances scratching your bumper up. Because of that, we'll show you the install as the instruction say. The first thing you'll do is pull that front fascia. The black plastic panel covering the radiator needs to come up. And you'll need to remove the lower splash shield. There are screws under the bumper in the wheel wells and at the front fascia. Disconnect the side marker lamp connectors. Remove the ambient air temp center from the lower front fascia and then you'll move on to unbolting the fascia itself. There are screws that attach the fascia to the headlight assemblies. Once those are removed, you can lift the fascia up and pull the upper grille forward to disconnect the fog lamp connections. Remove the remaining screws near the wheel wells and the fascia will be ready for you to lift it off and set it aside. Remove the factory grille surround assembly from the fascia by releasing the tabs. The grille will then slide out. Reinstall the front fascia on to the car and move on to the install of the Roush grille. Remove the fog lamp assemblies and remove the grille surround. Pull the grille from the surround by releasing the retainer tabs. Install the clip nuts to the brackets and install the brackets to the new grille. Insert the bracket ends into the slots on the grille surround and loosely install the pinch brackets to the L-brackets. You'll use the electrical tape or wire ties to secure the fog light wires and the connectors. You'll wind the tabs to the grille assembly and the slots on the fascia and install the grille. Just make sure your brackets are hooked and all of the tabs are clipped in properly. Lastly, you'll reinstall your rad cover. That's gonna be it for the Roush 7 Bar Upper Black Billet Grille for the 2010 to '12 GT, but you can check it out more online right here at

Will this fit the Roush front fascia? I'm looking to pickup the Roush front fascia and am wondering if both this and the lower Roush grills will fit the Roush front fascia?

can i still retain the fog lights? I was wondering if I can retain the fog lights by keeping then hidden behind this grill? Or would I have to completly remove the fog lights?

    • Under normal circumstances, this would delete the fogs. However, there are brackets you can buy that will allow you to mount the fog lights behind the grille. I did this option myself and it looks amazing!

fog lights fitment? i noticed in the pictures AM posted for this product that there are two holes on each side of the grille. Are these for those who want to somehow mount fog lights behind the grille if still want the functionality of fogs?

    • The Roush 7 Bar Upper Black Billet Grille (10-12 GT) is designed to be a fog light delete. The holes that you are seeing in the product photos, are manufactured tabs for installing the Roush 7 Bar grille. These tabs secure the Roush grille to your factory grille surround. You can review this on steps #18 - #24 of the installation guide.

2012 v6 Do any of these GT grilles fit the 2012 v6?

    • Unfortunately not. The front fascia on the GT and V6 are slightly different and you will need the grille designed for the V6 for proper fitment.

      Looks awesome!

They look awesome. If you don't have the original grill (like I didn't), it'll take a bit of manipulating and drilling to get it to fit. Otherwise.. top quality product.

      Looks Much Better

Shipping was fast. This piece feels real solid as its made out of aluminum instead of plastic. Only concern is during install some of the paint on the hardware got a little scratched and made me realize how easily the paint on the grille itself can get scratched. Liked the look of this better than the Saleen grille, but Saleen might not show a scratch as much because its plastic. Fits "well", not perfect. Its an aftermarket piece, so its to be expected. The grille does not fill the opening in the fascia perfectly, but only noticeable up really close. Be careful when removing old grille from fascia! Use a small screwdriver and work each tab out individually. I tried to pull the grille out for the last two tabs and cracked the fascia a little. It doesnt affect the install or the appearance, i just cringe at every scratch on my baby. Installed this along with the Boss lower fascia and it looks awesome. So happy. Altogether took me about 6-7 hours, but it took me way longer than it should have. Very simple install. I uploaded pic, grey one on the ramps is mine.

      Looks good and works!

After my supercharger install, I wanted more air for traffic and for space for my oil cooler lines which were a little pinched by the left driving light in the stock grill. Car looks sinister now and it is holding up well with over 20K miles of DD and road trips. Air flow is so good, I need to vent the hood now for when I "indulge" on open stretches of highway!

      California Special Install

I have a 2011 GT/CS and it has the chrome-ish grill. I researched on what grill to get since the CS has it's own grill surround. I had to buy a standard GT grill surround off of ebay just to add this. Wow, was it worth it. This grill is very good construction and is a very good choice. I looked at reviews for all the other grills and this one still had the best reviews and I can see why. My first Mustang I got a Roush hood scoop and it fit perfect. Next Mustang I got a Roush look a like hood scoop. You get what you pay for. I learned my lesson and this Roush grill is no exception. Very high quality and totally changed the look of my CS. I also got the pony emblem to mount and it looks factory. Love Roush products and AM service!

      2012 gt roush install

Looks great and is made from high quality materials, my only complaint is that the mounting method is rather for lack of a better word ghetto. It uses pinch clips rather than snap in clips like the factory grill , I'd like to see a more factory mounting method from such an expensive piece

A Perfect Match for my own 'Project Blackout'

After debating this decision a long time, I finally pulled the trigger on the Roush billet grille. (Having previously purchased, installed, and returned the Saleen grille for poor fit and overall look, for those of you considering the two) Now, I could not be happier with my decision. The grille arrived within a day of ordering (Thanks AM) and impressed from the start. The satin black finish matched the look of the factory plastic grill bezel well and, once installed, gave a nice, clean, and well-finished look to the front of the car. My sole complaint is the bottom bar of the grille mounts just forward of the corners of the housing. I will have to adjust it later to see if that can be amended. Install was straight-forward and you do not have to remove the front bumper cover as stated in the Roush-provided instructions. An extra set of hands, however, was good to have, as prying some of the bezel tabs loose to release the grille would have been much more difficult on my own. Perhaps the most difficult part of the install was releasing the inner factory grille from the grille surround. From there, installing the Roush is just 4 brackets and a couple of screws away. The grille mounts easy without cutting or drilling and fits well in the housing. I finished mine with the Tri-bar Pony emblem (see separate review) and then reinstallation in the car is as easy as popping the tabs back in place. Overall a great product to achieve the aggressive look I was going for from the front of the car. Combo'd with the GT/CS front valance previously installed on my car makes for a great look. Hope I've helped some of you and will post pictures soon.

Great for the novice modder (like myself) and looks amazing!

Not new to car mods, but never had the time and never thought I had the skill to do mods myself, so I figured I'd give this one a try on my own. If that sounds like you, then take it from me, this is a great project to get you started! Make sure to set aside a good portion of time to do this project...I read through the directions and split the project into 3 sections, and tackled a different part of it every night and spent somewhere between 4-5 hours total working slowly to make sure everything went properly and stayed organized. As for the grille itself, it is adjustable, and is absolutely worth your time to sit down with it and make sure you get it exactly where you want it. The grille isn't meant to fit snugly in the plastic surround, and will allow for a tiny gap on either side. The quality of the part is excellent, and the streamlined look of the front after its installed is worth every minute put into the project.

      roush grill..TAPE YOUR BUMPER

Looks good after I got it on, I didnt take the bumper off...and it worked fine with plastic trim removal tools. You NEED to tape your bumper...I scratched mine being VERY careful. So don't be me. One lower bar on the grill came bent...Easily put back in place. One of the mounting brackets did not match the others, still fit on but for $225 I would have expected more. Happy with the look!

      This is the grill

Short and sweet. If your shopping around for fog light delete grilles, this is the one. The material is sturdy, clean well put together, doesn't looks or feel cheap at all. Not to mention it has the Roush name. Honestly the pictures on here do not do it justice, you will achieve the stealthy and aggressive look your hoping for. Of course American Muscle got it to me in two days, no surprise with the outstanding customer service. The installation guide says to remove the front bumper, in no way can I understand this. Simple installation, no need for front bumper removal. If your reading this your probably how I was and can't make a decision on which grille to get, you can't lose with this. Highly recommend.

      Great product!

This grille fits great. Some other reviews say it doesn't fit as well as they would like but the fitment is adjustable. Perhaps they didn't read the directions! Mine lines up perfectly and has no fitment problems at all. Great finish, great looking, and adds a bit of a "mean" look to the car. I was shocked at the quality of the product. I've bought grilles before and they've all been cheap plastic and flimsy. This grill is metal and very strong. Definitely recommend!

      pretty decent

A lot of the previous reviews say it all. Quality is good. Fitmen is...questionable. I thought they were gonna be a tight fit but you end up have extra space on each side. I guess it is supposed to be that way. I will say this tho: it will definitely change the look of your vehicle. I used to say It's just a grille but man I've been getting a lot of compliments. If you got the money, get it!!

Frontal Blackout ... A really great look!

This grille was an excellent fit for my plans to completely transform the frontal view of my 2010 GT by getting the fog lights and emblem out of the grille. I installed it along with a new lower fascia with fog lights and smoked projector headlights. This really gives a blackout appearance when the lights are off and a well defined appearance when they are on. The grille fit perfectly and was an easy install. I took extra time being careful and recommend second person assistance in removing the front fascia.

      Removing Fascia Can Be Avoided...

The installation instructions are okay. However, you don't *have* to remove as much as you are directed to, if you use a little ingenuity. Removing the front fascia can be avoided. You do risk breaking a retaining tab on the grille surround, however. The two on the sides are the problem. If you work out the fog lamps first (fairly easy, after removing the the retaining bolts of the mounts), you can bend the surround plastic back to expose the side tabe, and using a sharp knife (e.g., an X-Acto) you can shave the tops of the tabs to about an 1/8" from the mouth of the hook, and then bend the plastic retainer flaps, of the fascia, just enough to pop them loose. Being careful and patient, of course. That allows you to omit the removal of the lower panel, disconnecting the side lights, and temperature sensor, as well, by the way. Also, to remove the entire fascia properly really means removing the front wheels and the wheel-well liners. Which makes it a bigger job. In any case, the grille itself is well-constructed, fits fairly well, and is *metal*. I rebuilt and juiced-up a '68 Camaro--from the ground-up, back in the day--and haven't been active in working on cars since. Things have changed! Lots of plastic used for parts nowadays! Oh well...
