Hey guys, Justin with AmericanMuscle.com here with my quick review of the Siemens Deka EV6 High Impedence 60 and 80 pound injectors available for the '99 to '04 Mustang Cobra, Mach 1 and V6 and all '05 to '10 Mustang GTs. Now the world of fuel injectors can be a confusing one if you don't know what you're looking at, but typically it's something you need to address and upgrade when big power aspirations require the use of more fuel, whether it be pump gas E 85 or Race Gas. Now the fuel injector itself is only one part of the equation. Obviously you have fuel lines, regulators, pumps, return style systems, all of that good stuff, but today just for this video, we're talking about the S-D 60 and 80 pound injectors here.
Now the 60 and 80 pound numbers refer to the amount of fuel each injector can flow. For instance, the 60 pounders are going to flow 60 pounds per hour at 43 P-S-I and then the 80 pounders obviously are going to flow 80 pounds per hour at 43 P-S-I. Basically the 80 pounders are capable of flowing more fuel. Now with that being said, each one of these injectors is for a pretty serious setup, guys making over 500 wheel. If you stumbled across this video for a factory replacement for your new Edge V6, well then these are not going to be the injectors for you. With that said, let's talk some ballpark numbers here. Now a lot of guys, Cobra owners included, like to reference the 60 pounders being good to up to about 700 wheel or less horsepower and then the 80 pounders are going to support a good bit more than that, again depending on what fuel you're using.
So now that you know a little bit more about general application, let's talk pricing. The Deka injectors here on average are going to run you about 300 to 400 bucks, which is going to put them in the same ballpark as the Ford Racing and Bosch options, but not in the same ballpark of course as the I-D or Injector Dynamics options, which are big baller and cost upwards of $1,000 plus depending on what size you're going with. So we know these things are going to be vital in your pursuit of big power. We know they're going to be relatively affordable in the world of aftermarket injectors, but what are the negatives? Well we really haven't heard too much firsthand here on the site through our customer reviews, but we have heard a few reports of inconsistent spray patterns and rough idols and that's mainly directed at the 80 pounders here, not so much with the 60 pounders, but overall at the end of the day the Deka is a solid injector with a great rapport. The S-D injectors are sold in sets of eight, feature an EV6 body style here or high impedence and do feature a factory style connector making for a plug and play install. So for that reason alone, one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. Not exactly hard, maybe an hours worth your time in the driveway or garage. A big thing when upgrading your injectors, guys, you have to take the tune into account here. You can't just plug these things in and go. I'm sure a lot of you watching this video already know this, but just wanted to point that out.
