    Hey guys. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the SR Performance 1-3/4-inch black long tube headers for 2005 to 2010 GT Mustags. These headers are gonna be your go to option if you're looking for the performance and sound benefits of long tubes at the most budget-friendly price. These are currently the most affordable set of long tubes for the '05 to '10 costing right about 300 bucks. They're made of stainless steel with a black finish. They have 1-3/4-inch primaries that merge down into three-inch collectors and they will need to be paired with a tune in order to run correctly. Just like any long tube header install I'm gonna call this one a full three out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter so don't expect to get away with an easy one here. Long tubes are a time consuming install. Long tube headers are gonna offer both performance and sound gains. Do keep in mind that the end result of your headers will depend on the rest of your setup, meaning what other mods you have, your specific tune, your fuel, and your overall setup of your car. The runners on these particular headers are 1-3/4-inch which is slightly different than the 1-7/8 inch headers that you also see out there. Traditionally you see forced induction cars running the larger runners and [inaudible 00:01:07] cars running the 1-3/4 runner which means that these headers are gonna be a good option for someone to use on a naturally aspirated setup. Getting more into specifics here, these headers are made from stainless steel which is a great starting point. Stainless steel is a top of the line when it comes to materials for any exhaust part. It's gonna offer the most corrosion resistance and give the longest lifespan. These obviously then have a black finish to them so they're gonna have a different look under the hood. You aren't looking at a chrome or even raw finish here. Some of you guys out there might be looking more for sound and performance gains and might not even be concerned with the appearance of the headers but just know that these are gonna operate a little bit of a different look and that the black coating also doesn't give any performance gains like a ceramic coating will. You guys already know that these are 1-3/4-inch primary tubes but they are mandrel bent and they do flow down into a three-inch collector that has a scavenging spike in it. The scavenging spike or power spike as SR Performance calls it, helps with exhaust scavenging and flow. The headers have a high flow design and they're certainly less restrictive than the factory headers which is where you're gonna get your power and sound gains from. A few things to keep in mind with these headers. One is that you'll need a tune in order to install these and have your car run properly. Just make sure your tune is all lined up and ready to go so you can enjoy your headers right after you finish up the install. And two, these headers do come with new gaskets but not new header bolts, so you will need to pick those up prior to your install. And one other important thing to remember is that you guys are gonna need a shorty mid-pipe to pair with these long tubes. You'll need to pick up the shorty mid-pipe separately since a stock mid-pipe is not gonna work with the long tubes. SR Performance offers both a shorty X-pipe and H-pipe so you can pick which one you prefer. It's a good idea to keep brands the same between long tubes and mid-pipes that way you'll know for sure that they'll fit together properly and you won't have any leaks or fitment trouble. Once again the install for long tube headers is a full three out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter no matter what brand you're looking at. You'll need to pick up a few things like new header bolts. You do have your gaskets but you will need a tune and a shorty mid-pipe in order to install these.     Application. These SR Performance Long Tube Catted Headers are specifically designed to fit the 2005-2010 GT Mustangs equipped with the modular 4.6L V8 engine. These Long Tube headers will require the use of a SR Performance shorty style H-Pipe or X-Pipe for proper installation - sold separately.
