This is achieved with a clutch spring, which requires just 35-Pound/Inch of pressure, compared to the 185-Pound/Inch pressure typically found in stock clutch springs.     Extend Slave Cylinder Life. A lot of Mustang owners remove the stock clutch spring assist in order to get a better engagement feel from their clutches. While this does improve clutch feel, a missing spring assist can potentially damage your clutch’s slave cylinder. This happens because the clutch pedal will have the tendency to slightly engage the clutch.       My left foot.

      Much better feel, but it was tough taking out the factory perch and spring. My left foot thanks Steeda.

      Like night and day.

      Was missing shifts after going from my 15’ with a short throw to my new 19’. Didn’t want to drop the $$ on a short throw for my 19’ yet and this did the trick. Install took 5 min and haven’t ground a gear yet. Felt almost too light at first, but only took a couple of drives to get used to. Definitely recommend.

      1st Mod Material

      This spring completely changes the feel of the clutch. The throw is much more consistent although a little heavier over the stock spring. It did take a couple days to get comfortable with it but the feedback from the clutch is now more consistent and easier to read. It is effortless now to shift smoothly and take-off. The perch however does not seem to be much if any better than the stock one. I couldn't tell much difference however I only handled both for a moment before the new one went in. There is nothing holding the two pieces of the perch together so as long as the stock one is in good shape, the new spring is simple to put in. The spring is worth the money but I'm not sure the perch is. Install was almost as easy as the instructions say. I had trouble compressing the stock spring enough to get it out. I used a pair of needle nose vise grips to compress the spring but the way my spring was oriented I couldn't compress it enough. After about a half hour of frustration I realized I could use the vise grips to spin the spring enough to get the proper grip on it. Once the stock spring was out, the new spring popped in by hand. Everybody should definitely the buy the spring as soon as they can.

      Easy install

      Easy to install and really improves clutch feel doesn’t come with any grease and it needs grease on the contact points of the perchs

      Not night and day but....

      It's not much lighter but it does seem more linear. I would purchase just the spring and save money.

      Easy upgrade and instant improvement.

      The hardest part was getting my 6-3 frame under the dash. Had assembly change in 10 mins. Instant improvement in shifting!

      Great product

      Installed it on my GT350 and clutch engagement is much better. Does not make the clutch very heavy. Highly recommend this product and removing the factor assist spring.

      This was a great upgrade

      Ran with the stock spring for a year, never got used to it how jumpy it was. So tried with no spring, which felt like my old Foxbody which I liked, but the clutch pedal would rattle on bad roads. So gave this a try and like it very much. I would buy again and recommend.

      A Must!

      When I test drove a Mustang, the sales rep must have thought I'd never driven a standard transmission. Loved the car, but had a difficult time with the clutch. Saw this spring alternative on YouTube. What a GREAT difference it makes. Now very easy to feel the clutch engage, no artificial feel due to a factory spring that was too heavy. If you have this vehicle, you MUST have this spring! Good luck!

      Soft spring that's consistent

      After having my 2014 Mustang GT and upgrading to a 2018 Shelby GT350 nearly a week ago, the first thing I noticed was the clutch pedal. It was soft, but terribly inconsistent. It was hard to judge the spring and utterly hard to get used to on release. Pushing it in was light, but I still lacked consistency. It made for frustrating moments leaving just from a stopped position, or sometimes going into second due to the sudden JUMP from the small spring, to the bigger, thicker one. This product solved that problem. It's soft and smooth as butter; but more importantly... it's CONSISTENT. This is the best upgrade I've done, and likely the only upgrade I'm going to do. Not only that, but I recommend getting the kit just in case the stock male or female end snaps upon removal like mine.

      Well worth the cost.

      I purchased the spring as well as the perch and it works great! Much more feel to the clutch, smoother engagement and disengagement. No more drive line clunk or lash. I could have just purchased the spring and used the Ford perch but decided to get the heavier perch just because it was much beefier than the stock Ford perch. You only need a pair of pliers to remove the old spring. Needle nose vise grips work the best, but I managed to remove the spring assembly with a pair of adjustable pliers (aka Channellocks). Installation was easy. The hardest part was maneuvering my big body into position to remove the spring assembly. The new assembly slipped right in with no problem. Getting my work light and pliers out and putting them away took longer than the actual installation. This should be your first option for anyone experiencing drive line clunk or lash.
