Smoother Clutch Feel. The Steeda Clutch Spring Assist and Spring Perch Kit is engineered to give your Mustang an overall smoother clutch feel and engagement. This is achieved with a clutch spring, which requires just 35-Pound/Inch of pressure, compared to the 185-Pound/Inch pressure typically found in stock clutch springs. If you’re looking to improve your Mustang’s overall drivability then the Steeda Clutch Spring Assist and Perch Kit is what you need.

Extend Slave Cylinder Life. A lot of Mustang owners remove the stock clutch spring assist in order to get a better engagement feel from their clutches. While this does improve clutch feel, a missing spring assist can potentially damage your clutch’s slave cylinder. This happens because the clutch pedal will have the tendency to slightly engage the clutch. The Steeda Clutch Spring Assist and Spring Perch Kit solves this problem by providing just the right amount of pressure for a better clutch feel, while ensuring the pedal is completely disengaged.

Tough Build Quality. The Steeda Clutch Assist Spring is made from high-grade steel with 35-lb./in. pressure, compared to 185-Pound/Inch pressure found in factory springs. The Spring Perch is also made from high-grade steel, but features a significantly sturdier construction compared to stock. What you get is a clutch spring assist that is both beefier and lightweight.

Simple Installation. Installing the Steeda Clutch Spring Assist and Spring Perch Kit is a straightforward operation. No specialized tools are needed and not much time is required.

Backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. The Steeda Clutch Spring Assist and Spring Perch Kit is backed by a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. Please visit the manufacturer’s website for more details.

Application. The Steeda Clutch Spring Assist & Spring Perch Kit fits all 2015-2019 Ford Mustang models.

    Simply Perfect!

If you want a much softer clutch this is the way to go, should come from the factory with this spring, It was worth buying and installed in minutes.

    Steeda clutch pedal spring

Gt350 has dual spring. I had to carefully compress springs via the spring perches. Pedal has a little more resistance but not significant.

    Makes a difference

Before I purchased this spring I already got used to the stock spring which took me about 3 months of driving to get really comfortable with it. I bought the Steeda spring so that it would be easier to feel the engagement point when I teach my wife and son how to drive my Mustang. Quality - The perch kit is definitely more robust then the stock one. In fact the stock perch kit cracked when I removed it. Installation - It took me about 15-20 minutes and most of that time was trying to remove the stock spring. You have to contort your body to get yourself in a good position to pull the spring out. I bought a needle nose vise grip for around $7 to assist with the removal and it was definitely worth it. Installing the new spring took less time. I put white lithium grease on the ends before installing. It took me three attempts to install the spring. Again it was due to having to position your body so that you can see, reach and align the spring perch correctly. Function - The clutch feels slightly heavier with the Steeda spring. I thought that the stock clutch was heavy already and that I might not like the heavier feel, however I got used to it in about 2 weeks. The good news is that I can definitely feel the engagement point. I used to think it was about half way up but it is more like 75 of the way up. I feel more confident taking off from a complete stop now that I can feel precisely where the engagement point is. It’s an upgrade that’s worth the money.

    Clutch Assist Spring.

Interchanges with original part, gives clutch pedal a more "mechanical" feel.

    Like night and day.

Was missing shifts after going from my 15’ with a short throw to my new 19’. Didn’t want to drop the $$ on a short throw for my 19’ yet and this did the trick. Install took 5 min and haven’t ground a gear yet. Felt almost too light at first, but only took a couple of drives to get used to. Definitely recommend.

    1st Mod Material

This spring completely changes the feel of the clutch. The throw is much more consistent although a little heavier over the stock spring. It did take a couple days to get comfortable with it but the feedback from the clutch is now more consistent and easier to read. It is effortless now to shift smoothly and take-off. The perch however does not seem to be much if any better than the stock one. I couldn't tell much difference however I only handled both for a moment before the new one went in. There is nothing holding the two pieces of the perch together so as long as the stock one is in good shape, the new spring is simple to put in. The spring is worth the money but I'm not sure the perch is. Install was almost as easy as the instructions say. I had trouble compressing the stock spring enough to get it out. I used a pair of needle nose vise grips to compress the spring but the way my spring was oriented I couldn't compress it enough. After about a half hour of frustration I realized I could use the vise grips to spin the spring enough to get the proper grip on it. Once the stock spring was out, the new spring popped in by hand. Everybody should definitely the buy the spring as soon as they can.

    Not night and day but....

It's not much lighter but it does seem more linear. I would purchase just the spring and save money.

    This was a great upgrade

Ran with the stock spring for a year, never got used to it how jumpy it was. So tried with no spring, which felt like my old Foxbody which I liked, but the clutch pedal would rattle on bad roads. So gave this a try and like it very much. I would buy again and recommend.

    A Must!

When I test drove a Mustang, the sales rep must have thought I'd never driven a standard transmission. Loved the car, but had a difficult time with the clutch. Saw this spring alternative on YouTube. What a GREAT difference it makes. Now very easy to feel the clutch engage, no artificial feel due to a factory spring that was too heavy. If you have this vehicle, you MUST have this spring! Good luck!
