Features & Details

  • Full Length Subframe Connectors.
  • Eliminates Chassis Flex.
  • Weld-In Design.
  • Natural Steel Finish.
  • Fits All 1979-2004 Mustangs.
Renew Your Chassis. Over time your 1979 to 2004 Mustang's frame and chassis will develop microcracks that cause it to become weak and allow it to flex, robbing you of power and performance. A set of Steeda's subframe connectors will restore your 'Stang to crisp, factory like handling and a better ride.

Eliminates Flex. Under torque your chassis can flex, robbing you of precious ponies instead of putting that power to the pavement. With a set of Steeda's subframe connectors, your Mustang's power will go straight to your tires where you want it, so you get the most from your mods.

Designed to Perform. Unlike other subframe connector kits, Steeda's full length connectors are reinforced in key areas and include weld-on cross braces and a reinforcement plate for a solid connection to the rear floor pan. They're a great choice for on-track and competition cars that need a lot of chassis rigidity, but don't want to go to a full "X-Brace" style cage that would interfere with the passenger area.

Legendary Steeda Quality. Steeda's full length subframe connectors are made of rugged 1.5" x 2" x .083" square tubing that spans the full length of the floor pan. These subframe connectors are offered in natural steel which can be coated with your choice of protective finish after installation.

Application. The Steeda full length subframe connectors are designed to fit 1979 to 2004 Mustangs. Sold as a pair.

Note: Coupon codes cannot be applied to this product.

Technical Notes. Black powdercoat finish shown. 1996-98 Cobras will require modifications to the transmission crossmember mounting flanges.

Do the. Torque box reinforcement plates and seat bracket supports need to be treated or painted too?

  • It is normally recommended to have them treated at the same time as installing these but it is not necessary.

    Perfect Fit

I went with the Steeda sub frame connectors for the torque plates which really are a nice addition and give you a solid mounting point in the rear of the car. Fit is perfect and they welded in pretty easy. Once painted, they look like a stock piece. You can really feel the difference once installed. I'm no longer worried about launching the car hard at the track.

    Steeda Subframes

I have personally purchased and installed 2 sets of these sub frames, one for my old 87 Mustang GT, and one for a friends 96 Mustang convertible GT, the torque box plates are a nice touch as not many other kits come with them, and they are a key component for the integrity of the cars handling and launching ability, the sub frames have a nice fit also and as long as you prep the car before welding them in the install took me just over 1.5 hrs total. The first set I installed took just over 4hrs due to welding of upper and lower torque boxes for future modifications. The handing of my 87 GT was severely increased, as well as an instantly noticeable increase in my friends 96 GT. I am also planning on purchasing and installing a future set for my current 2000 Mustang GT. Thank you for such an amazing product and I highly suggest this product.

    Nice fit!

You can't go wrong with these connectors, nice welds from factory and good hardware. My floor pan rails that weld to the connectors were all bent up from previous owners putting a jack under them.I took stud welder and pulled them back into shape. These connectors fit great and the seat brackets and torque box plates included also great quality. If these subframe connectors don't fit your car right then you got problems elsewhere.

    Solid Product

Top quality construction! The machine shop that welded them up loved the seat bolt brackets and the pre welded tabs. I loved how much they stiffened up the unibody! Car feels awesome with hardly any flex!

    Amazing !!

When I purchased these I wasn't sure how much of a difference they would make, but after I got them welded in they were noticeable as soon as I got in the car and backed out the driveway. These connectors have really made a difference in how the car feels not only while taking corners but in normal day to day driving. The car no longer feels like a wet noodle and I can't believe this didn't come stock.

    Excellent upgrade for my fox

I replaced an old set of non-full length sub frame collectors with these. The Steeda ones are so much better, they are huge, and hold everything together nicely. The torque box plates will help also. Very good product.

Got stuck between these and the MM's but decided to go with these because of the included torque box reinforcements. Great idea! Been about 6 months since i got them and boy do they make a difference. Just wait till you go in sideways on a driveway and all you hear is ... nothing. Great product.

The Best SFCs Money Can Buy

There are tons of options out there for subframe connectors. After some extensive research, I decided to go with the Steedas because they are full length, they are reinforced at every bend, they had pre-welded tabs to easily weld them to the subframe, and they came with some thick torque box reinforcement plates. Subframe connectors are a part that you want to get right the first time, since going back and changing them isn't very easy. I am very satisfied with these SFCs and I noticed that my car was different as soon as I sat down in the driver's seat. Now I don't feel so bad about the 18s with big tires and stiff suspension. I would definitely buy again. Just a note, I do all of the work on my car myself. However, for this installation I took my car to a local chassis shop. I would recommend doing the same unless you have the talent and the means. The underside of my car is not where I wanted to bush up on my welding skills.

    Steeda FLSFCs

After I got this product installed, I noticed a difference as soon as I sat down in the driver's seat. The chassis is a lot firmer now. The car overall takes bumps and rough roads better and handling around corners has improves. A great addition to any suspension setup.

    Perfect fit, great product.

As it has been said, these are the subframe connectors you want. Flawless in every way. The instructions are detailed, and the quality of the product is excellent. The line up perfectly unless your car is bent. I felt the difference the second I sat in the driver's seat. The car feels like a tank now, and it has no flex when the pavement is uneven. Feels like a brand new chassis now.
