Hey, I'm Justin with, and I have with me a part that Ford should've included with every new Mustang. That would be these tilting adjustable headrests for all 2010 and newer Mustangs. As someone who drives a 2011 and a 2013 Mustang frequently, it's hard to find anything to complain about. Track apps, navigation, sync technology, my color. Basically, the interior of these cars are awesome with one exception, the lack of an adjustable headrests. These new tilting headrests with 4 different positions and 10 degrees of adjustability, solve that dilemma entirely. Now, as for the construction, these new headrests feature a black vinyl material that matches the OE leather green perfectly. Furthermore, they feature bright-white stitching, just like the OE seats, basically making these impossible to differentiate from a factory part. This is a total, piece of cake install, you'll simply want to slide off your factory headrest, then slide the new headrest into place, then adjust accordingly. This entire process should take you no more than a few minutes. So if you're one of the many 2010 and newer Mustang owners out there who agree that the lack of an adjustable headrest has taken away from the overall driving experience, then do yourself a favor and check out a set of these adjustable headrests right here at

Improves Driving Experience. Drivers love the new Mustangs redesigned interior, minus the lack of an adjustable headrest. But now AmericanMuscle can solve that little complaint with a brand new pair of tilting headrest to improve your driving experience.

Tilt Adjustable. Designed with a unique ratcheting system these direct replacement Mustang headrest give you a full 10 degrees of adjustment within four positions.

Quality Materials. This pair of tilting Mustang headrest are wrapped in a high quality black vinyl that features the same leather grain texture as the original GT interior, and are completed with a bright white stitching for a perfect interior match.

Application. This pair of Black Vinyl Tilting Headrest are specifically designed for use in the 2010 to 2014 Mustang, including the V6, GT, Boss and Shelby GT500 model. Includes driver and passenger side headrest.

Hi, I have a 2013 Mustang GT. The factory head rests are adjustable, but won't go back far enough for my wife. Do your headrests adjust back further than the stock headrests on the 2013 model? Thanks Bob

    • This are made to OE specs so unfortunately they will not adjust further back than the stock headrests on the 2013 model.

I have a 2014 Mustang with the factory tilting/adjustable headrests. They are too thick from front to rear and force my head forward when sitting normally. Are these TMI headrests any slimmer from front to rear in comparison to the factory 2014 headrests? Thank you!

    • Hello, we designed these ratcheting headrest to replace the non-adjusting headrest from the earlier models, so unfortunately the thickness will be very close to the same as the headrest Ford later came out with on the 14 models. Thank you

exponentially better than the stock headrests

I'm not tall, at 5'7" and I think that is the issue with the stock 2014 headrests. They pushed my head uncomfortably far forward. The TMI after-market ones are so much better. I got them today, put them in (must almost 3 minutes!) and took a ride. I can finally have that comfortable neck/back of head support. I took the stock ones off very soon after buying the car. These are vinyl, the stock ones are leather, and the only way I can tell the difference is by the label. They look fine, and feel great. They are expensive. The stock ones are more and will set you back $400.

      Great but bigger than OEM

I wish they were the same size as the originals in my 2010 GT. They are about 1/3 bigger. That being said, they look great and function as they should.

      A big difference

The originals poke you in the back of the head and are very annoying. What a difference these make.

      Tremendous Improvement!

The stock headrests are a joke. My wife refused to ride in our Mustang with her headrest in place since it hit her in the head unless she reclined the seat back to an uncomfortable position. I really didn't like to have her ride with the headrest removed but there was no other option until I purchased these tilting headrests. They match perfectly and are well worth the money.

      Great interior upgrade.

My wife is short. She is also a saint, never a complaining word about her husbands other love. (2011 race red mustang GT) However, she was not too keen on the stock head rests. She found she had to lean the seat back much farther then she preferred or the stock head rest would be poking her. I installed these adjustable head rests without telling her to see if she would notice any difference. Within one block from home she was smiling and pulling the seat back up straight to her liking. Then I heard about how she didn't like the OE head rests. She is a very satisfied wife of a happy mustang owner. Side note: the head rests don't exactly match my interior. (reason for four stars not five) I have the deluxe leather seats, with the racing stripe. They are a smooth leather, not grained like the adjustable head rests. However the color and white stitching do match. The smile on the wife's face pretty much makes this a non issue!

      GT500 Head Rests

Head rests fit well, when tilted they do show the steel posts. The vinyl material is not the same as the GT500 seats, if you are a detail freak then you may not like them. My wife appreciates the new angle and now will ride in the car and even wants to take it on her own due to new comfort.

      Ford Should Have Installed These

If your significant-other or Tween child is short and complains about the factory headrests being angled forward too much, then go ahead and pony up the money to buy these headrests. My wife hated riding in my car because of the neck pain she would have after a long ride. Their fit and finish is fine, and most people will never notice that they are not factory-installed. They take seconds to install, and make a world of difference (happy wife = happy life!).

A very large bang for your bucks.

This head rest allows you to hold your head up more so than with stock ones. You actually had to tilt the back of the seat so you could put your head back more, GREAT product. A very large bang for your bucks.

      Tilting Headrest - Finally Comfortable

Ford should have understood this problem before the car ever went into production. The Tilting Headrests fit and match my black interior perfectly. Driving is finally comfortable! If you are tired of driving with your head tilted forward or having to tilt your seat further back than desired to get the headrest out of the way, this option is for you. Installation is a snap.

      Happy passenger

These headrests are far superior to the factory set. They are softy yet still firm and adjust in several postions forward and back, as well as up and down. My wife would not ride in my mustang because the factory headrest hits shorter people in an awkward way and cannot be adjusted backward. Now my wife can sit up and get her head in a comfortable postion. Thanks American Muscle.

      ajustable headrest

Ford has made a serious mistake with the design of their headrest .Other people have had the same trouble in other models. I was almost ready to remove them from my car, but after seeing the new headrest in AMERICAN MUSCLE I purchased a set. This is definitly a must, I love them. My wife was almost refusing to go in the TANG, due to the discomforton her neck You have awinner here........

Excellent remedy for the stock headrest annoyance

This product looks like a stock part so it blends well with the interior. As others have said, there is a bit of a gap at the bottom due to the swivel action but nothing unsightly (exactly as shown on the AM product pix). By my eye, it takes three position “clicks” forward on the ratcheting swivel headrest to reach the stock headrest location, which can give you an idea of relief you get with this aftermarket headrest. This headrest is much softer than stock as well. Priced a bit too high, IMO.

      Fixes the neck problem

The headrests are larger than stock. When installed and pushed all the way down you can still see the metal poles. Not a huge issue but it grabs my eye. But I no longer have the headrest on the verge of hitting my head at any given moment. The quality is very good and the leather matches very well. So overall if you are looking to remedy the angle of the headrest I strongly suggest buying these

I was almost ready to get new seats, but these saved the day. There are a couple of cheap-looking aftermarket headrests out there, but these look great and match perfectly. They are well-made too. Check out the pics. Took 5 minutes. For anyone else that hates the factory ones, this is the best solution I have found.
