Review & Install Video
Hey guys, Alex from americanmuscle.com, and today I'm bringing you my quick review and breakdown of the Tonno Pro LoRoll Tonneau Cover, fitting the 2009 through current F-150 with a five and a half foot bed. So in this video, I'm gonna talk about who a tonneau cover is going to appeal to, the construction and materials that went into this particular setup that I have here today, what you should expect to be spending, and then lastly, we're gonna take a very quick look at what's entailed to get this installed on your rig, where I'm gonna be giving this an incredibly easy one outta three wrenches in the difficulty meter, and less than 30 minutes to get this onto your truck. And I'll have more for you on that later. So if you're unfamiliar with what a tonneau cover is or what it does, this is something that is essentially gonna be covering the back of your truck or the bed, and it's honestly one of the first modifications that any truck owner should pick up, as speaking from personal experience, this is the first mod that I put in my own personal truck. So by installing a tonneau cover on your F-150, you're not only gonna be making it look that much better and a little bit more complete, in my personal opinion, but you're gonna be keeping your gear or anything that you're gonna be stowing in your bed safe from prying eyes as well as cover from any type of weather, be it rain, sleet, or snow.Right off the bat, something that I really like about this, aside from the budget-friendly price and the ease of installation, which both I'm gonna talk about a little bit later, is gonna be the low-profile design here, which means that this is going to essentially install on the inside of your bed rail. So in the event that you're gonna be running a bike rack or a kayak rack down the road, you can still retain this and use that rack at the same time. Now another cool feature about a tonneau cover is that by installing this, you're actually gonna be reducing your truck's drag, which in some instances can actually save you money at the pump.So in terms of the construction and materials here, we're gonna see the Tonno Pro's gonna have this manufactured out of a very heavy-duty, tear-resistant vinyl that's gonna have a little bit of a shiny finish to it. But something more, it's not gonna be an eyesore, and I honestly think it's gonna mesh very well with both light and dark-colored trucks. Something else I really like about this cover is that it's gonna be double-sided, so you're gonna be getting that added protection not only on the outside, but the inside so that no matter whatever you're gonna be stowing or carrying in the back of your truck, be it tools, camping gear, you name it, it's gonna be protected from the elements or anything that you're gonna be putting your truck through. So in terms of the frame or the skeleton of this cover, we're gonna see that this is to be manufactured out of a 6063 series aluminum, which is gonna then be powder-coated, but at the end of the day, you're really not gonna be looking at the underside, and it's just essentially gonna be there to protect it from exposure to the elements. So in terms of the pricing here, should expect to be spending only about 280 bucks for this kit right here, which I honestly think is gonna be a little bit more budget-friendly in comparison to some of the other options out there which, based on the brand, style, if you're a roll up or if you're a hard cover, can easily surpass about $1,000. Again, for the money here, you're not only gonna be just completing the bed of your truck, which, in my opinion, gonna be a really sleek look, as I do have a Tonno Pro on my own 2014. Not only that, you're gonna be protecting anything that you're gonna be carrying from prying eyes, as well as keeping it in great condition from any type of exposure to the elements. Switching gears to the installation portion of the video, just like I had said up top, you're gonna be looking at an incredibly easy one outta three wrenches in the difficulty meter, and less than 30 minutes to get this onto your truck. So speaking from personal experience, I do have a Tonno Pro cover on my 2014, and I gotta tell you, I honestly took more time pulling this out of the box than getting it onto my own truck. The ease of installation here is virtually painless. You're not looking at anything crazy, no drilling, welding, cutting, any type of modification, this cover is essentially gonna come with two side bed rails, which are going to attach, again without drilling. They will have Velcro on top to help keep a very firm and tight grasp, just to ensure that there's not gonna be any type of moisture, dirt, snow, anything getting inside of your bed and making contact with whatever you're gonna be hauling. Again, guys, you're really not looking at brain surgery here, as you're essentially just gonna need to assemble a couple brackets, get them in place, and then run the side rails into place, and then essentially put this right on top. All in all, a very, very easy one outta three wrenches in the difficulty meter, less than 30 minutes to get your bed covered. All right, guys, just to wrap things up here, some final thoughts. I definitely like this option from Tonno Pro, not only based on the fact that this is a very budget-friendly tonneau cover, but for the fact that it's honestly just gonna clean up the rear end of your truck and make it look that much more complete. Aside from the looks department here, this is gonna cover virtually anything that you're gonna have in your bed, be it camping gear, tools, away from prying eyes. Not only that, you're gonna keep it protected from any type of element, be it rain, sleet, or snow. So that's my quick review and breakdown of the Tonno Pro LoRoll Tonneau Cover, fitting your 2009 through current F-150, with a five and a half foot bed, available right here at americanmuscle.com.
