Warrior Design. With independent adjustability, this Warrior Shock is far superior to many other options out on the market today for your 2005-2014 Mustang. The shock features 19 positions of compression and 19 positions of rebound, delivering a total of 361 different valving combinations to adjust to all road and track conditions. Viking Performance offers this superior adjustment and control in a high quality body machined from lightweight aluminum. With a twin-tube design and digressive valving, this Double Adjustable Rear Shock is designed for use on factory height S197s and supports up to a 2" drop with ease.

Double Adjustability. This Viking Warrior Rear Shock features 19 positions of adjustability for both rebound and compression damping. Among its total of 361 valving combinations, you're going to find the combo that works perfectly for your S197. With two separate adjustment knobs that are clearly marked with a "C" for compression and an "R" for rebound, finding the perfect setting for cruising or racing couldn't be any easier.

Quality Construction. Precision machined out of lightweight aluminum, this twin-tube Viking Performance Warrior Shock features a clear anodized body, PTFE/bronze piston seals and a 5/8” hard chrome plated rod. It'll have the smooth control and cushioned ride you're looking for. An accompanying 2-Year Warranty on materials and workmanship tells you Viking stands behind what they build.

Application. This Viking Performance Warrior Double Adjustable Rear Shock is specifically designed for 2005-2014 V6, GT, Bullitt, BOSS and GT500 Mustangs. Sold individually.

What is the difference between these shocks and the crusader series?

    Corey

    • The Viking Performance Crusader Series Double Adjustable Rear Shock was developed based on requests from the pro-touring market and from small tire, drag radial customers. With these vehicles, there are situations that require rebound forces in excess of what standard passive adjustable shock absorbers can provide. These have digressive compression valving and progressive rebound valving. The Viking Performance Warrior Series Double Adjustable Rear Shocks were Viking's first shock offering, and have a digressive force curve for both compression and rebound making them excellent at low speed handling, while still providing acceptable high speed handling.

I noticed that there is a O-ring that is on the rod that can be moved up, and down on the rod. What is the O-ring used for?

    Oscar

    • The "O-ring" on the Viking Performance Warrior Series Double Adjustable Rear Shock is part of the dual adjustable design.

      Help

For starters the bushings and washers are very low quality. They are as strong as bubble gum. One would think that if you are gonna spend four times the regular value in something the difference will be noticeable, this is not the case.

      Comparison to Stock Koni Yellows

I had stock shocks and Koni Yellows before these. Stock is junk. Koni Yellow's had great handling but traction suffered a lot and ride quality on NYC roads was very bad even on the softest setting (Steeda Sport springs on 20's). In comparison, the Vikings gave me a big traction improvement and huge ride quality improvement on 3c 5r. Turn the settings to 6-7c and 4-5r and it's very good on the highway, almost as good as Koni Yellow's but these have a little bounce. Not bad but you can feel it. Tuned Koni's had none. Maybe an adjustment setting could solve this but if so I haven't found it yet. Still, the dual adjustability makes this a very versatile shock and the best I found to date. Quality appears to be excellent too. Super easy to adjust - you can reach the knobs by putting your hand through the wheel - but watch out those rotors get hot very fast!

      Amazing!

These things look amazing and are very easy to adjust when you are at the track! The ride quality is good, not as good as stock but these are meant for drag so doesn't matter to much!

      Viking Shocks

The shocks arrived on time and were packaged neatly to avoid any shipping damage. They had informative directions on installation and adjusting them. Installation time was about 30 minutes. They greatly improved the ride quality and handling of the car. When you put them side by side with the stock shocks it's pretty easy to tell you just bought a high quality product.
