Hey, guys. Adam here with americantrucks.com. Today we're taking a closer look at and installing the Weathertech Techliner bed liner available for the 2015 to 2018 F-150. You should be checking this out for your own F-150 if you're in the market for a bed liner that not only protects your bed itself but also the cargo you're hauling around in it. If you've got fragile cargo that you don't want coming in contact with the bed itself or sliding around, this will keep it gripped up in place. If you have a bare bed and you don't have any factory liner in it or aftermarket liner, you might want something that will protect it against scratches, dents, rust, and corrosion. This is a weather-resistant, rust and corrosion-resistant bed liner made from a durable thermoplastic elastomer. This is 100% recycled and 100% odor free. Some of the other plastic materials out there or flexing materials out there have some, kind of, odor and that's not something you might want underneath of some of your cargo, which can end up smelling like that. With that being crack resistant and weather resistant, if you ever needed to clean it, you could always just pop it right out of your bed. After all, it's just held on with Velcro. Underneath the Velcro on the bed is a 3M tape that is adhering it to the bed. So if you ever wanted to pop the bed liner out, snap it off from the Velcro, power wash it, wash it off, leave it out in the sun, it is UV resistant and it won't fade over time. It's really simple to just pop right back in and it hugs the curves of your bed. It's a custom-fit bed liner. Not a lot of bed liners out there are made using CAD data from Ford. This is gonna be completely hugging every curve of your vehicle. If you wanna pick this up for your own F-150, it's about 200 bucks, which I think is a very worthwhile price for the guys out there looking to protect their bed. After all, how much would paint repairs cost if you scratched and dented your bed? This will definitely protect against that so the 200 bucks goes a long way. The installation, if you can even call it that, is gonna get one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, takes about 15, maybe 20 minutes at the absolute maximum, and you don't need any hand tools to get it done.If you do have a bed liner already on your F-150, you're gonna wanna remove that before installing this one. If you do have a Line-X already sprayed in your bed, you wanna sand down the areas where you'll be applying the adhesive to the bed just to make sure it gets a good bonding. Again, no hand tools, all you'll need is the alcohol wipes provided in the kit and I'd recommend giving your bed a nice wash before you get to installing this. So one out of three wrenches, about 15 to 20 minutes, let me show you how it's done. All right, step number one, grab your Weathertech floor liner and fold it up just in two like this and set it into your bed. All right, now before we move forward, I wanna point out that once you have this laid out just like we do, you'll see that it is, kind of, wrinkly and wavy along the edges. Once this is exposed to a certain amount of heat, it'll start to settle into the bed. So if it's not an absolutely perfect fitment right off the bat, keep in mind that it was rolled up in the box for so long. So once you have it unrolled and laid out, it'll sit out in some heat out in the sun after a while and it will settle into position and be that perfect fit.It is recommended that before you put it in your truck bed that you do unroll it out of the box and leave it out in the sun for at least 60 minutes. Give it some time to soak in that heat and unroll and flatten out itself. So once you have it in the bed, you wanna grab some of the alcohol wipes that are included in the kit, rip those open, and you'll start to clean the area underneath of the liner where the Velcro adhesive backing is gonna stick to the truck bed. You also wanna make sure that you've removed any factory liners from your truck before you begin the installation. You wanna have an absolutely bare metal truck bed to get started on this. So once you have that open, we're gonna start here on our passenger side and fold this back. Now, what you wanna do is line up and take a look at where those adhesive stickers are gonna sit on the truck bed and clean off that specific area. So we do have some in the middle here, we've got one here and one here and I'm gonna start with this one. Now, you wanna fold it to see where it's gonna lay and wipe that area. Do the same thing for the next one and the one down here. All right, then we have one more down at the back. It also is a good idea to give your truck better good wash before you put this in place. You wanna make sure all the dirt and debris is free so that your adhesive gets a good bond. Peel it back up and peel off the backing of the adhesive. There you go. Repeat that exact same process for all of the adhesive Velcros. Once you have it in place and all of your Velcros are set, leave it out in the heat before you drive it for at least 12 hours, so let it settle and let it really get a good bond to your bed and then you're good to drive off. With all that said and done, that's gonna wrap up my review and install of the Weathertech Techliner bed liner made for the 2015 to 2018 F-150. If you wanna protect the paint in your bed and the cargo you're putting in it, having a bed liner is the way to go. This one's custom fit, weather and crack resistant, won't rust or fade and it's very easy to clean. You can get yours right here at americantrucks.com.
