How to Install Westin Contour 3.5 in. Bull Bar - Stainless Steel on your F-150

1.    Remove contents from box, verify if all parts listed are present and free from damage. Carefully read and understand all in­structions before attempting installation. Failure to identify damage before installation could lead to a rejection of any claim.
2.    Start installation on the driver side from under the front of the vehicle. NOTE: Trimming of the front valence is required in order to install the lower mounting brackets. From outer flange to outer flange, the lower brackets should measure 45-7/16". The approximate flimensions for the cut outs are shown in Figure 1. (NOTE: Trim as necessary)


3.    Installation of lower mounting brackets:
A.  For vehicles-with factory tow hooks: Remove the factory tow hook and place the driver lower mounting bracket up against the vehicle's frame channel making sure to align the two holes of the bracket with those of the channel. Place the tow hook beneath the bracket and loosely secure the lower mounting bracket and tow hook to the vehicles frame using the factory bolts and factory nut plate. Refer to Figure 2.
B.    For vehicles with no tow hooks: Slip the supplied u-bolt into the frame channel through the existing holes. Mak­ing sure to align the holes of the bracket with the studs of the u-bolt, loosely install the lower mounting bracket. Refer to Figure 3.


4. Remove all factory hardware and clips in order to remove the grille. See Figures 4-10.





5.    Remove the factory bumper bolt see Figures 11 & 12. Loosely secure one end of the upper support strap to the vehi­cle, using the supplied M8 hardware, to the location of the removed factory bolt. Tighten and torque to 15 ft-lbs. See Figure 13. (Note: Removal ofintercooler bolt and prying ofintercooler may be required to fit the M8 hard­ware.)
6.    Repeat Steps 3 & 5 for passenger side.
7.    Reinstall the grille and headlight covers in the reverse order in which they were removed.
8.    With assistance, hold the bull bar up in position on the inside of the lower mounting brackets. Loosely attach the bull bar to the brackets using ( 4) Ml O button head cap screws, (8) MlO flat washers, ( 4) Ml O split lock washers, and ( 4) MlO hex nuts. Refer to Figure 14 for a picture showing the hardware assembly.
9.    Loosely attach the other end of the upper support straps to the bull bar using (2) M 10 button head cap screws, (2) M 10 split lock washers, and (2) Ml O flat washers. (FIG 15)
10.    Align and adjust the bull bar as necessary. Tighten and torque MIO hardware to 25 ft-lbs and 3/8 hardware to 30 ft-lbs.
