Will I need more than the provided kit in order for my 06 GT to run effectively? I really want my 06 GT to be a lot faster than it is. I was told by a dealer at Ford that if I were to add a super charger to my mustang that I will "blow out" the engine and tail end of my car. He stated that it wasn't "designed" to handle that much torque and horse power. I don't totally believe that but that is why I asked if I would need more than the kit American Muscle provides in order for my GT to run effectively and of course fast! I understand that I MAY need to add bigger brakes and a cool air intake, but I just need to know if there are any other NECESSARY requirements.

    • on our cars our rods are powder coated they aren't strong internals at all. so our car is rated to handle no more than 450 rwhp in the motor and on the auto tranny. what happens if you exceed this you might get away with it for a little bit depending on your driving habits, but what happens a lot is that you will end up throwing number 7 out your motor. from all the research i have done that is the most common. if you want your car to be a lot faster i would recommend 4.10 gears, a 3000 stall, one piece drive shaft, full bolt ons, cams, and I'm running a 75 shot and am really happy with it. but get a really good tune i am running bama tunes and haven't had any problems but a dyno tune is the way to go especially with nitrous but if you still want a power-adder the only way to make our cars have any serious power is to get a better block and forge the internals, upgrade the tranny level 10 and tci are most popular, you will need a one piece drive shaft, you can get away with the rear end but if you want to make 600 plus at the wheels i would recommend a 9" rear but it depends on how you drive and how hard your car will hook

Whipple Intercooled Supercharger Kit - Polished (05-10 GT Auto) do I need to make any changes to my auotmatic transmission/drivetrain before installing this supercharger on my 05 stang?

    • depends on how mush boost you push but you should be ok a trans cooler would help , and when you have a tune done have them reset shift firmness and shift points, have fun and make sure you buckle you

I'm looking to get a 05 or a 08 Mustang Gt and I was just wondering with this SC can I just throw it on and go or would I have to upgrade my gears and block and etc.?

    • The Whipple W140AX 2.3L Intercooled Supercharger Kit will not require more upgraded parts depending on how you will be using the car. If this is going to be a drag car, it is a great item is upgrade the rear gears and swap to forged internals.

Is this a complete kit if not what else would I need?

    • This part would be a complete kit to install on a stock 05-10 GT Mustang.

I have a 07 GT, I'm considering getting forged internals before getting this supercharger but I wanna be sure I need them. Could I get away with running this on my stock block? And does this kit include fuel injectors? Thanks in advance

    • The Whipple Intercooled Supercharger Kit is designed to work within the limitations of your stock block, however if you have higher mileage and are planning on a rebuild, then going with forged internals will give you much more room to grow in the future with the addition of more mods or more boost.
