Features & Details

  • Line Lock System

Line Lock System. Brake-Control Packages better know as a line lock system allows the driver to "lock up" the front brakes while letting the rear wheels spin free to heat up the rear tires in the burnout box for better traction down the track. Not only is it a great way to warm up your tires, but you can also use the system to prevent a manual transmission cars from rolling out of the staging beams at the starting line.

How It Works. The SLP Brake-Control Package works by simply pressing the brake pedal and flipping the brake-control solenoid switch on. Remove your foot from the pedal, and the solenoid maintains line pressure to the front brakes until the switch is released. This saves wear and tear on your car's rear brake components from the old "left foot on the brake and right foot on the gas" method.

Complete Custom Kit. SLP Brake-Control kits are custom-fitted to the S197 Mustangs chassis, with no tweaking or fabrication required. It includes a waterproof electrical solenoid, an activation switch, plug-in wires, CNC-bent steel lines with correct OE fittings, mounting hardware, and detailed installation instructions.

Application. This SLP Brake-Control Package is specifically designed for use on the 2005 to 2006 GT Mustangs only. And is fully compatible with the factory anti-lock braking and traction-control systems.

Question Resolved

Whats the Steps to use this? am a old school burnout guy, and was wondering are their any steps when installed i have to use. or do i just flick a button put it in first and let loose.

  • Mine is on a toggle switch. Witch i like better than a push button A: Push brakes on with foot, switch toggle. Remove foot from brake. Your front brakes stay engaged until you switch toggle again Works very well !

    Great product

Installation was straight forward with helpful color instructions. I have a kit like this for my F Body and both applications work perfectly. My only complaint would be that the toggle switch does not have a cover but a trip to the auto parts store solved that issue. If you have a right angle drill it is invaluable for drilling the mounting holes in the tight quarter of the mustang engine compartment.

    SLP Line Lock

I had this installed while my car was in the shop for other things. The Tech said it was the best fitting unit he's ever installed. All the pre-bent tubing made installation a snap. I used it at the drags this last weekend and it worked flawlessly. My name is Fabman and I approve this message.

SLP Line Lock Kit (05-06 GT)

Line lock works great. Just make sure the brass end of solonoid is on the line going to proportioning valve or it will not work. Goes faster with another person to help bleed brakes.

Easy install, great bang for your buck!

The install was easier than I was expecting, kind of messy with the brake fluid but not hard at all. The pre-bent lines fit like a glove, wiring kit came with everything needed, and the instructions were easy to follow with pics. I strongly recommend being very careful when threading the new line into the block up front to avoid cross threading. After everything was said and done the kit works great, I wired it into my cruise control off button and used the switch it came with as an "arm" switch.

An absolute nightmare, worked for a weekend then I flip the switch do a burnout and go to flip back, next thing you know the solenoid is permanently on. Drained it drove home messed around and thought I fixed it, three days later it locks up on me on the freeway!!! I drove home with no front brakes!! ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE I thought I would let others shoppers know before they end up in this situation. Sometimes it works and others your getting towed home, stay away.

    Good kit

It works well as it should. But the install was a bit more of a hassle than I expected. It is simple because it just installs inline and has the proper lines and such. But the location of the selanoid is just ridiculous. To drill the mounting holes was a nightmare and thighing the bolts to the lines wasn't much easier. They could've just moved the location to a different spot but it seems its probably cheaper to sell a kit with minimal bends in the hose. Anyway don't let this discourage you from buying it as it does work good and is a quality product just need some patience to install it and don't forget to blead the brake system after install.

Fits Decent, but not a plug and play

Even though this kit is made for the 2006 I have, the installation is not that difficult, but it isn't super easy as well. I had to loosen and move several brake lines going to the ABS proportioning valve before I could get this one in there just right. Then put those moved lines back where they went. Putting the bolts in to hold the solenoid is a pain in the rump too unless you have the right tools. An air ratchet and the self tapping screws are needed too get the bolts into hold the solenoid…it comes with self tapping screws. The biggest pain in the rump is running the wire through the firewall without having to take the whole car apart (bottom fender wells under the tires) out. I managed to snake in a piece of house copper wire and found it and tied onto it and pulled the wire throughout a real electrical grommet instead of the hood latch they recommend. A not too bad installation, definitely not plug and play as the instructions imply. Be prepared to spend an afternoon doing this….yes I am a pretty good mechanic as well so that said, over all the installation was a pain in the rump, but the results were awesome. I bought a protected toggle switch for this unit so it can't be accidentally turned on…accidentally turned on means no front brakes! I used the switch that came with this unit to make myself a manual fan on switch; if that gets accidentally turned on, the fan just runs all the biggie.
