1996 Mustang Pictures - '96 Pics

Mustang enthusiasts were on their toes when the 1996 Mustang was released to the public. The highly anticipated and talked about 4.6L modular V8 engine replaced the legendary 5.0L V8 engine. Check it out with our 1996 Mustang Pictures. Even though there was a 31 cubic inch difference (281 vs. 302) the 4.6L matched the 5.0L in both horsepower and torque. Ford also reintroduced a performance automatic option thanks to the 4R70W automatic transmission. Visually, very little has changed about the '96 Mustang, except the horizontal orientation of the tail light have become vertical, giving homage to Mustangs roots. The V6, GT, and Cobra were still available as both hardtop and convertible. Four new colors were available: Moonlight Blue, Deep Violet, Pacific Green, and Bright Tangerine (GT application only).
