It is a head turner, but it\'s difficult to install (I wouldn\'t have gotten it if I had to do it myself), a PITA to put on, and is impractical if you want to show off your ride to friends and need the back seat.
So when you open up the back seat, you need something to cover up the folded top. The cloth cover that comes stock just doesn\'t do it for me and so this is how I ended up with this item.
I never buy anything without a review from other buyers, let alone pictures. I jumped on this because really there\'s nothing else out there that I could find.
No regrets at all. WOW... the pictures don\'t do it justice. This is the best looking cover out there (even including speedster/roadster covers). The cover looks amazing and adds a huge amount of \"ooomph\" to my GT500. I only wish that there was an option for a Cobra emblem (maybe in the future).
Installation was my biggest fear. My DIY projects always go two ways, horribly wrong or terrific which is why I always pay for installs on big ticket items like my car to avoid the risk of the things going on the horrible side.
It states somewhere on here that installation time is \"2 hours.\" I went to the 3D Carbon website before I bought it to read up on the install instructions. It\'s literally like 3-4 steps. I didn\'t understand how that could take \"2 hours\" so I was thinking once I actually got it, there would be a big catch that I would really mess up.
There was no catch at all. It took me about 10 minutes. It would\'ve taken 5 minutes if I didn\'t mix up the left and right brackets. You don\'t even really need a mallot, you just have to wedge the brackets in.
This item encompasses a lot of years, so I don\'t know how well it\'ll fit on other models, but on my 2009 GT500 it fits like a glove. Just submitted a pic to American Muscle, so the first pic to show up is probably mine.
I would recommend this to any vert owners looking for a great cover. Like I said before, it is in my opinion the best looking one.
The BIGGEST downside is that it will not fit in the trunk. However, the Cervini\'s Speester cover is the only one that I know of that will fit in the trunk (part of the reason why I got it also) so it\'s not really a deal breaker. Additionally, if you\'re someone who is willing to spend $450+ on a cover because you don\'t like the cloth one... you\'re probably the type who never drives their Stang unless you 110% know it\'ll be sunny weather all day.
My next step now is to find a good shop to paint it, but now I\'m debating because it does look amazing already even unpainted.
Kudos to American Muscle also, what an awesome company. If they carry it, I wouldn\'t buy it from anyone else. This is the biggest sized item I\'ve purchased from them, but as always, delivery came the next day (they\'re in PA, I\'m in NYC).
