1997 Mustang Overview

The Mustang remained largely unchanged for 1997. The base model got the 3.8L 150 horsepower V6, the GT got the 215 horsepower SOHC 4.6L V8, and the Cobra recieved the 305 horsepower DOHC 4.6L V8. A new security system was made standard on all models, and a new interior upholstery choice was added. The new Mustang had been selling well, and Ford decided not to mess with success.
