Boosts Horsepower. An AEM Brute Force Cold Air Intake improves the airflow into your S197 Mustang's engine for more power and better gas mileage all while filtering out harmful power robbing particles. This AEM CAI kit completely replaces your 5.0L GT Mustangs restrictive factory air box, intake tube and paper filter element with a Dryflow filter assembly for an increase of 8hp @ 5000 RPM.

No Tune Required. Unlike other Cold Air Intakes on the market for the 5.0 GT Mustangs the AEM Brute Force CAI does not require a computer re-tune. The engineers at AEM designed, tuned, and dyno-tested this cold air intake to improve your Pony's power using the factory tune.

Reusable Air Filter. AEM Dryflow air filters are made from an oil-free, synthetic filter media for outstanding air flow, filtration, and performance. They are washable and re-usable and can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing (depending on driving conditions).

Made in the USA. Manufactured in the USA from CNC mandrel-bent 6061 aluminum piping to assure smooth unrestricted airflow, this AEM cold air intake tube is completed in a Gunmetal Gray powder-coated finish for long lasting corrosion resistance and impressive good looks.

Lifetime Warranty. AEM is so confident in their cold air intake system that it is covered by a Lifetime Limited Warranty.

Easy Bolt-on Installation. AEM Cold Air Intake kits are designed to install with just basic hand tools. No extra modifications or special tools are required for an easy 1 hour installation.

Recommended Upgrade. Even though a re-tune is not required for operation, AmericanMuscle recommends a Bama custom tune with a Mustang Handheld Tuner to reprogram the vehicles computer (ECU) to get the best performance possible out of this cold air intake.

Application. This AEM Gunmetal Gray Brute Force Cold Air Intake System is specifically designed to fit the 2011 to 2014 GT Mustang with the 4 valve 5.0L V8 Coyote engine and does not require re-tuning the vehicles computer for operation.

Technical Note. This AEM Cold Air Intake is not legal for use in California or other states adopting California emission standards.

302 boss intake manifold I currently have this CAI installed on my '14 GT... i'm looking at purchasing the 302 BOSS Intake Manifold and am wondering if they work together?

  • Unfortunately, we have not yet test fitted the AEM Brute Force Cold Air Intake with the Boss 302 Manifold. By the way the manifold sits, the intake outlet would need to be turned slightly upward, and a proper coupler would be required.

I bought this intake with a GT500 exhaust to boost power and sound, but without being too loud. I can feel a modest improvement in power and sound but the car is not annoying out on the open road. If you want to get rid of the restrictive factory stuff this is a good option.

I originally installed a Steeda CAI. Through no fault of Steeda, I quickly discovered that the 2013 hood vents sit on top of the filter enclosure. That means a lot of rain water, debris from trees, etc., wound up on the filter element and in the enclosure/box. As someone who is pretty zealous about the under-hood appearance, this drove me nuts as it always looked dirty, etc. This CAI is perfect for the '13 and '14 GT's, as the filter enclosure has a lid to keep everything off the filter, allowing for an overall tiddier engine bay appearance. I also have a Bama tuner, so this CAI with tunes does the job same as the Steeda. I will say that there is a bit of a throatier growl over when the Steeda was installed. Looks good, performs good, and counters those hood vents!!! Can't expect any better.

    Nice integration

This product has filled a niche in the market of being the only closed box conical CAI. While performance gains are below or equal to the competitors it does not use the cheap way out and complete the airbox with a seal to the hood. Fit was excellent, though there was some need for "persuasion" by pushing the pipe and fittings together and tightening it down before relieving the said "persuasive forces". It adds a factory type finish to it having the closed box. Filter is designed by K&N and does not use the typical K&N oil which is a plus. A slightly different tone from the sound tube can be heard, it is more apparent with one of the foam filters removed from the tube. You cannot hear the "gulping" of air that has been associated with CAI's in the past. I would make this purchase again, no regrets.

    Color me smiling . . .

I've installed CAI's on every vehicle I've ever owned; this one was by far the easier install ever. It looks fantastic (love the closed box) and sounds even better, which I didn't think was possible. Looking forward to getting it out on the open road this weekend so I can put those extra 8-10 ponies to the test.

    Awesome for 2013 hoods!

Lets start with the cons. There really was no race growl that you normally get from cai's. I also didnt see a noticable MPG increase. Now for the pros. I love how when installing there is no cutting or modification needed to any of the vacume tubes or whatnot connecting to the CAI. Also it is enclosed so no worry of water getting in. Looks awesome under the hood. I did notice an increase in Higher RPM range HP. Install was easy and fit was perfect. Overall a great addition.

    Best intake out there!

This intake is amazing!! The only negative was on the intake braket that mounts to the air box doesn't mount with the boss 302 manifold other then that I would recommend this to every one looking for a great product.

    Great CAI for 2014

Performance gains are minimal with any CAI considering you're adding 10hp to a 400hp car. Where AEM hits a home run is the look and design. This piece really adds to the engine bay and fits great. It took me about an hour and a half and a six pack to complete and was very easy, even for a novice like myself. The closed box design keeps out water and the oil less filter is easy to clean. Shipping was fast as always and AM has another happy customer.

    11-14 AEM Intake

This intake is awesome! I would say the best one for our cars. The closed box design, uses factory air dam and doesn't let water get in if you have a 13/14 5.0. The quality, fit & finish is second to none I am really glad I got it. Give them a look!

    Poor seal fitment

The price was the lowest of the cold air intakes so I bought this one. But the engineers needs to go back an redesign the seal that goes into the box for the tube to be inserted into. Very poor quality of design and fitment. Had more trouble making a new seal from scratch that would work to seal the air intake box. There is an old saying you get what you pay for.

    Cold air intake

I bought this intake because of the lower price. BUT it has some problems mostly with the seal that goes into the air box to seal the intake pipe. Very bad design, very bad. I spent more time making a new seal to work. When you buy something cheap that is what you get. My mistake trying to save a few dollars. The engineers need to go back and redesign the seal that goes into the box.

    2013 Mustang GT

Excellent fit, installs in about 30 minutes with simple hand tools. Power gains were recognizable off the back. Also the closed boxed system works great to deter rain from heat vents and retain oem look. I would recommend this item.

Only covered one. Glad it is a great product also.

Chosen because it is the only one with a cover to prevent GT hood vents from leaking on the filter. I messed up the gasket due to my fault. Called them, they answered the phone and positively wanted to help with any concerns. They imediately sent me another free, even though I damaged it. Great customer care! Installation and quality is great. The grey powder coat of the tube and cover are beautiful. The box is thick and made well also. The filter condition guage is a nice touch. It all looks fantastic with the engine! Has quicker response and a little bit louder sound. Oilless filter is also a plus. It made the K& N I put on an 08 look like junk!

    Pretty good

This product was very easy to install for me (novice) with exception to the included weather strip. I fought with that strip forever, and had to trim it per the instructions resulting in me cutting it a little short. No other hiccups. Car is not much louder, only noise difference I can hear is in the 3-5k rpm range when I am at WOT. Idle still smooth, not really a difference in HP (that I can tell, car has no other mods).
