what gas mileage improvement has anyone experienced for a 2006 V6 Automatic installation? i am thinking of buying the Airraid CAI, and at this point do not want to pay hundreds for a tune. I have a dual exhaust on my 2006 V6 automatic and was wondering if anyone can tell me of their horsepower gains and fuel efficiency gains if any? thank you!

I noticed some drops of water on the intake plastic shield??? I have heard of hydrolock from CAI systems. I checked the car after a lot of heavy rain and noticed some drops of water inside the intake plastic housing. I always try to avoid deep water when driving but am I in any danger of damaging the car? I found a product by Injen that they call a hydroshield that is a waterproof "bag" that goes over the cone but still allows full airflow. I just wanted to know if I should be worried about the small amount of water there? How much water does it take before it can be sucked into the intake system?

  • It would take much more water to hydrolock, what people are referring to is cold air intakes that hang near the bottom of the vehicle and can suck up large amounts of water from driving through puddles and large amounts of standing water. Even the stock intake is prone to small amounts of water.

    Awesome

    February 24, 2010

I put this on my 2007 v6 and it was amazing in the difference. The CAI kept the HP up through 4th and would make it get up and go a lot faster. Awesome buy for cheap.

    borrowed from friend

    December 02, 2009

a friend allowed me to put this in my car and i gave her the stock box. I have had it for a week now and I like it. sounds nice, gives it some more push on the car. The noise it makes also lets you know its working. a huge SWISH sound once you accelerate. a good buy. I don't think she is getting it back.

    WOW!

    November 30, 2009

purchased this intake with a bbk 70mm throttle body and steeda TB spacer a week later had true dual exhaust. I recently took a trip that was about 700 miles one way and I drove my Mustang and well I only had to stop once to fill up. Doing the math while on the road I was getting about 35-37 Miles to the gallon and to be honest my biggest item to than would have to be the intake, the amount of air flow my car gets is amazing, and the power wow that all I really have to say.

    Pony expansion

    August 22, 2012

Well, I was nervous about the intsallation. My first time replacing factory parts on a newer car. Installation was pretty much straight forward. There are a couple of times when the replacement parts were a extremely tight fit. Read the instruction twice before making the chance. The only concern after completing is the fit between the air box and the cooler assembly near the driver side head light. I believe this assembly is the power steering cooler, its very tight. The car sounds alot meaner, seem like I got a small boost in power! Well next upgrade is the dual exhaust...

    Airaid MUST GET!

    February 04, 2011

Just installed the CAI with no problems at all. The process took about 30-40 minutes at most. I bought this CAI because I didnt want the tuner yet and i feel that the Airaid system is the best in the market that doesnt require a tune. I love the deeper sound it gives my car and would recommed it to anyone with a V6!

    Increased Horsepower and Torque!

    July 23, 2012

This is a great CAI if you are looking to upgrade from your stock cold air intake! It will not give you as much of a power gain as one that requires a tune, but it will wake up your car a lot and it looks great under the hood. Installation was not difficult as it reused the factory MAF sensor and the nuts and bolts that were on the stock CAI.
