How to install a Bassani Catback Exhaust on your 1999-2004 GT Mustang

1. Raise and support vehicle in a manner which allows full suspension drop of rear axle.

2. Lubricate all stock rubber hangers with penetrating oil.

3. Remove fasteners from lower shock absorber mounting points and allow rear axle to drop to lowest position possible.

4. Using a reciprocating saw, cut stock tailpipes from rear of mufflers.

5. Pry tailpipe hangers from rubber hangers and remove tailpipes from vehicle.

6. Remove fasteners attaching factory mufflers to H-pipe/X-pipe; pry hanger rods from hangers and remove mufflers from vehicle.

7. Standing in front of rear axle, position left and right tailpipes over rear axle and install rear-most hanger rods into factory hangers.

8. Position supplied heavy-duty clamps over tailpipe inlets, install supplied mufflers into tailpipes and attach to H-pipe/X-pipe outlets. Use supplied 3/8” hardware for attachment.

9. Install tips with clamps over tailpipe outlets and install remaining hanger rods into stock rubber hangers.

10. Using a hydraulic jack or other suitable method, raise rear axle and re-install lower shock absorber mounting bolts.

11. Align system to allow for proper clearances around axle, body/frame, brake lines etc. and tighten all clamps and fasteners.

12. If desired, attenuation cores in tips may be removed to increase exhaust note volume.
