Here at American Muscle, we're all about DIY (do it yourself). Of course, there's nothing wrong with seeking out a little bit of tech help prior to taking on an installation on your own. Our Mustang installation guides will provide valuable instructions and hopefully answer any how-to questions that you may have along the way.
This install is a little more involved, but it is still fairly simple. However, for the sake of clarity, this install will be split into two parts, left and right switch bezels.
Tools Required:
A Small Flathead Screwdriver
Left Side Installation
This side is the easier of the two sides to remove.
Simply place the flat screwdriver into the side of the cruise control switch, inbetween the switch piece itself, and the plastic bezel that is underneath it.
Use the same process in removing this switch as removing the window switches. Take your thumb and place it over the screwdriver, then pull up. The switch should just pop out. Be careful not to remove the rubber piece underneath the switch! The rubber piece is needed so that your cruise control remains operative.
Installation of this is quite simple. Just position the new switch and snap it into place.
Right Side Installation
NOTE: The right switch is actually two different pieces, a top (one section) and a bottom (two section) piece.
Using a small flat headed screwdriver, pop off the existing lower cruise control button first by prying on the side.
Do the same with the upper cruise control switch.
Snap the top switch into place. Simply position the switch and push down.
Do the same with the lower switch.
Check the fitment and make sure nothing feels loose.
