Review & Install Video

Hi I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m breaking down a very useful product from Covercraft thanks to their trunk pocket pod fitting all 2010 and newer Mustangs. If you’re like me and the slightest sign of clutter in your car drives you nuts, then the pocket pod from covercraft is definitely worth a closer look. This product features several different pockets that allow you to store a wide variety of items. From tools and first aid kits, to detailing supplied and whatever else you’d like to keep organized in your trunk. Covercraft is always known for their quality products and the pocket pod is no different, it starts off as a molded ABS plastic panel, and then is wrapped with a dark charcoal fabric which matches the factory carpet perfectly. In addition each edge has been finished off with this quality binding, and each pocket features these two secure clasps, ensuring whatever is stored in the pocket pod remains in the pocket. The best part is, this product installs easily without the need for any drilling instead using the factory style push fasteners. You’ll simply want to remove the factory carpet on your trunk lid first, and then reattach the pocket pod using the included fasteners. When it’s all said and done, you should be able to have this product installed in about 15 minutes. We all know the Mustang is a sports car and not a parts hauler, with that said, storage space isn’t always easy to come by, well with the help of Covercraft’s pocket pod trunk organizer, you can help keep your trunk and interior clean and clutter free.

Convenient. Keep your personal belongings from rattling around your trunk and add additional storage at the same time with a Covercraft Pocket Pod. The 2005-2009 Mustang Pocket Pod features three storage pockets that are perfect for keeping items such as manuals, first aid kits, emergency tools, a tire pressure gauge, or any other items that you want to store out of the way, yet easily accessible. Each pod is approximately 9" x 5"x 2.5".

High Quality Construction. The 2005 to 2009 Mustang Pocket Pod features three pockets that each have a lid with a secure closure latch. The Pocket Pod is made with a rigid heat-shaped backed panel and finished with a dark charcoal felt fabric to blend with your interior. And best of all, this high quality product is custom patterned, engineered, and Made in the USA, just like your Mustang, to ensure superior quality.

No Drill Installation. Pocket Pods do not require any drilling, utilizing the existing features of your trunk lid for a quick and easy installation with supplied 3M automotive tape.

Application. This Covercraft Pocket Pod is designed to fit all 2005 to 2009 Mustangs.

Question Resolved

I currently have two Kicker L7's in my trunk pushing about 2000 watts and I noticed that the pocket pod is mounted by tape. I am a little nervous that it won't hold up to the vibrations of the sound system. Has anyone with a sound system had to return it or provided negative feedback in regards to this?

Jay

  • The Covercraft Pocket Pod's can hold up to minimal vibrations that occur from standard speakers and road vibrations, however, if the pocket pods are holding heavier objects and there is excessive vibrations, such as from sub-woofers, the velcro can come off.

    Excellent product

This is a really cool item. It works great for storing my car care items such as detail spray, glass cleaner, tire shine and several microfiber towels. That way I don\'t have a box bouncing around the trunk. I always get compliments on it and people always comment how much they like it.

    Very nice except embroidered logo

This is a great product for show cars. Covers the bottom of the boot lid very well. Just wish that it didn't have the embroidered logo in bright red and white from the manufacturer. See it in one of the customer pictures?

    Pocket Pod

Yes, I recommend this product but only if your are aware that you will have to relocate your trunk light wire harness (to one side-as it pushes the pocket pod up from behind) and that you may need more then the 3-M tape to get a solid hold. The pockets appear to be the largest and easiest pockets of those products that are out there to buy; however, like all trunk pocket products the pockets are stiff and face up and are not the easiest to see down into (you have to feel around for the things that you place in the pockets-as the pockets don't bend down much). I found this item for under $100 but think it should cost less. Not lots of bang for the buck, unless you are in serious need of space.

Great product, easy to install (just be careful). I heated the 3M with a blowdryer to help adhesion.

Very nice for organization and does not take up any room

I wasn't sure about the price at first but after having this it is worth the money. The install took less than 30 minutes while i carefully used alcohol where I was going to stick this on the trunk lid. The cleaning was an important easy step to make sure that it sticks well. The placement on the lid makes use of a storage area that doesn't comprise and already small trunk space. But even better my belonging such as tire gauges, cleaning rags, wax, etc fits nicels in these without rolling aorund in the trunk. We've all experienced the accidental bottle of armor all coming off leaking all over the trunk. This eliminates that annoyance and I recommend this as a result.

    Pocket Pod

This is an amazin product. Each compartment is good for up to 3 pounds. It is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. But I still have enough room for a first aid kit. Water bottle. 5 road flares. De-icer spray. And jumper cables.

    Very useful

This looks great and installed easily. The instructions say to partially peel back the adhesive strips but that just doesn\'t work as I couldn\'t get behind it to pull the rest of the strip. But other than that , this is great!

    Awesome...

I bought this product from AM a while ago for my 2006 Mustang GT and just installed it a few nights ago. My stang has 482 RWHP and is loaded but still my "daily driver." This unit is perfect for those small, miscellaneous items like basic tools, those microfiber cloth's, that can of brake fluid, etc. You get the idea. The additional storage is great and allows you to keep the trunk clean and organized; a very practical, space-saving product that looks cool. The quality appears to be good, the fit perfect and install simple. We'll see how it handles while shifting throughout the power band! Definitely recommend this product for anyone looking to organize their truck area while gaining some storage space!

Gets some of the junk off the trunk floor

I read some of the reviews before I purchased this and found most of them to be true. I've been thinking about getting one of these and I finally did. I wish they would have made this about 3 or 4 inches wider, there's plenty of room to do this. You have to be very selective in what you put in the compartments, but overall I like it. Hint, if you open each compartment when you are sticking it on, you can push directly on the sticky pads to secure them to your trunk lid.
